Chapter 603 Imitation

"It gave us the rabbit."

Bai Xizhu looked at the female zombie who was now able to control her instincts with slight surprise.

The female zombie looked like an ordinary zombie, and there were no particularly strong supernatural abilities.

Yet it can get along so well with the mutated willow tree and even "understand each other's thoughts," which is truly baffling.

Upon hearing Bai Xizhu's words, the female zombie let out a soft roar, as if echoing Bai Xizhu's words.

It gripped the zombie baby's foot with one claw and slowly took two steps back, as if to give Bai Xizhu and the others a sense of security.

The zombie baby swings around in the air, and could fall to the ground if it is not careful.

Normal babies should never be treated like this, but the zombie baby didn't react at all, only roaring at Bai Xizhu and the others who were emanating the scent of flesh and blood.

His voice was hoarse and rough, lacking the innocence of a child.

The female zombie gently shook the zombie baby's leg, as if to soothe it.

Strangely, the zombie baby actually quieted down.

The base commander stared in astonishment at the female zombie, never having seen a zombie overflowing with maternal love before.

The female zombie pulled the zombie baby back into her arms, and slowly placed her rotting fingers near the zombie baby's mouth.

The zombie baby twitched its nose twice, then suddenly opened its mouth wide and bit the female zombie's finger, sucking on it.

Just like a human baby drinking formula.

It drinks the black blood from the female zombie's corpse.

The base commander shuddered as he looked at the female zombie's fingers.

The female zombie had several fingers reduced to bare white bones, which was initially thought to be due to accident or damage while eating.

Unexpectedly, it was because of feeding zombie babies.

The zombie baby is still young, so sucking a few mouthfuls of black blood or devouring a few mouthfuls of rotten flesh is enough to fill it up.

What if the zombie baby grows up?

creak creak --

Before the base commander could even anticipate this scene, he heard the sound coming from the female zombie's hand.

The zombie baby's empty gums, with no teeth yet, were already tearing at its fingers with force. Even from a distance, the base commander could hear the sounds of its gums and finger bones cracking.

My scalp is tingling.

The base commander turned his head away, no longer looking at the scene of the female zombie nursing the zombie baby.

Bai Xizhu's expression also turned somewhat pale. She forced herself to ignore the mother and daughter zombies and carefully observed her surroundings.

This scene, blending seamlessly with its surroundings, is much like the scene of humans interacting with nature.

Bai Xizhu suddenly had an idea. Other zombies were just mindlessly devouring flesh and blood, but the zombie in front of her was seriously "living".

Bai Xizhu subconsciously glanced around. There was nowhere to shelter from the wind and rain, not even a single barrier.

However, Bai Xizhu discovered a patch of bushes that had been flattened, with thick grass twisted and folded together, covered in black blood.

Clearly, this place is frequently visited by female zombies.

This is the female zombie's "bed".

Bai Xizhu even saw a place piled with bones; the remains were scattered haphazardly, but all were in that one area.

There were no bone fragments in the designated "rest" area.

There were no traces of black blood smeared on the grass in the designated "eating" area.

The female zombie is imitating, mimicking traces of human life.

Eating, sleeping, raising children, making a pact with nature, and using mutated plants to capture animals to provide themselves with flesh and blood.

If Bai Xizhu and the others hadn't come in, no one would have ever imagined that there was a zombie living a "Shangri-La" life here.

A terrifying thought rose in Bai Xizhu's mind.

Zombies are evolving; not only are their strengths evolving, but their behavior is also more like the continuation of a species.

They can reproduce, they can live, and they feed on flesh and blood...

To humans, zombies are the most terrifying creatures because they devour flesh and blood.

However, humans are also carnivores; they just don't eat human flesh, which is why they don't find themselves terrifying.

In the eyes of poultry, humans are the most terrifying beings.

Zombies eat people, and people find zombies terrifying. But zombies don't eat each other. So, do zombies find each other terrifying?

The answer is no.

A result is about to emerge.

The energy tide gave birth to a new species, and if they "survive" normally, they will continue to exist in this world forever, just like any other species on Earth.

The conflict between humans and zombies will never disappear.

Unless someone even greater than Qin Shi Huang appears, who can bring about some kind of peace between humans and zombies.

This kind of thing doesn't require great strength to accomplish; it also requires strong mental fortitude and a sharp mind.

Bai Xizhu's mind was in turmoil. Just seeing the female zombies' living area, she had already imagined the hardships that humanity would face in the long future.

"Xiao Zhu, what's wrong?"

Leng Yebai reached out and gently tugged at Bai Xizhu's sleeve, a worried expression on his face.

Bai Xizhu was so engrossed in her thoughts that her face turned pale.

"It's nothing, I just feel that maybe zombies will become a species on Earth in the future, and we'll probably never be able to develop an antidote."

Bai Xizhu pursed her thin lips, thinking of her classmate, Zhang Yiming.

Such a warm and kind person, who clearly has self-awareness and all feelings, always has to desperately restrain the desires raging in his mind.
