Chapter 613 Deep Sisterly Affection

Song Kerou stared at the door with a gloomy expression, wishing she could stare a hole through it.

The door clicked open.

Song Kerou's face instantly softened, her eyes filled with tears, and her entire aura underwent a dramatic transformation.

The one who opened the door was Song Ning. He looked at the frail girl in front of him with a cold expression, without a trace of sympathy.

He had already seen through Song Kerou's true colors. Moreover, given Wenwen's current state, he suspected that Song Kerou was the murderer.

He was even angrier when he saw that Song Kerou was wearing a blue dress to gain sympathy.

"elder brother……"

Song Kerou choked back tears and weakly called out Song Ning's name, her tears falling like a kite with a broken string.

"What are you doing here! Didn't I tell you you're no longer a member of the Song family? What are you doing here?!"

Song Ning didn't give Song Kerou a friendly look; her attitude was extremely rude.

"I just miss my mom and dad."

Song Kerou lowered her head and let Song Ning treat her badly, pitifully rubbing the corner of her eye.

Its thin body twitched repeatedly, looking utterly pitiful.

"How dare you say that!" Song Ning pretended not to see Song Kerou's frail appearance and said coldly, "I'm asking you, when you and Wenwen were looking for supplies, didn't you say that she was eaten clean by zombies? Why did I see Wenwen again that day? And why did you come back and tell Mom that you didn't see Dad and me?"

Song Ning's eyes were like knives as she stared at Song Kerou, so sharp they almost cut her to pieces.

He used to treat Song Kerou as his own sister, but repeated disappointments made him realize that the sister he adopted from the orphanage was not like his own sister at all.

She's too cunning.

Everything she did was to achieve her own goals. Song Kerou did not treat the Song family as family, but as a family that could create good living conditions for her.

It's just exploitation.

If he were to find out that Wenwen's current state was related to Song Kerou, he really wouldn't mind getting blood on his hands.

He was so angry he felt like his lungs were about to explode.

“It was Wenwen who told me this with her last breath. She was afraid that if you went to find her, she wouldn’t be saved, and she didn’t want us to all turn into zombies.” Song Kerou looked at Song Ning with tears in her eyes and said, “The reason I didn’t tell Mom about you and Dad that day was because I was afraid something would happen to her.”

When Song Kerou spoke, her voice was weak and she seemed very sincere, but her eyes unconsciously glanced behind Song Ning.

Leng Yebai should be inside.

She felt that her appearance might trigger Leng Yebai's protective instincts.

Aren't all men like that?

There's always a tendency to favor the weaker party.

She has used this tactic to its fullest extent since she was a child. When she was young, tears could get her a piece of candy from a child, and now they can get her a man's protection.

"Remember what you said. If I ever find out you're lying, I'll personally chop you up and feed you to the zombies!"

Song Ning made no attempt to hide her impatience, and simply waved her hand, saying...

"Now, get out of here! You're an adult now. We didn't adopt you expecting you to be grateful. Don't come back!"

Song Kerou seemed oblivious to Song Ning's disgusted expression, and instead rushed inside, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Song Hongfei behind Song Ning. "Mom and Dad, didn't you say you'd treat me well for the rest of your lives and be the little princess of the Song family?"

Song Ning frowned as she looked at Song Kerou, who was rudely bumping into her, and turned away in disgust.

The perfume Song Kerou was wearing was so strong that it almost suffocated him.

Song Kerou entered the living room as she wished, her eyes lingering on Leng Yebai for a moment before finally settling on the sumptuous meal on the table.

Inside the house, the aroma of the food became even stronger.

“Song Ning is right. Don’t come here anymore. If Wenwen’s matter is really related to you, I will take action myself without Song Ning having to do it.”

Song Hongfei looked at Song Kerou with a cold expression, a hint of regret in his eyes.

If they had known it would turn out like this, they shouldn't have brought Song Kerou home from the orphanage in the first place.

"Mom and Dad, don't you trust me at all?"

Song Kerou sobbed softly.

She has confirmed that the Song family has no way of finding out what happened back then.

Unless Song Wenwen says it herself.

But she had already turned into a zombie, and the Song family could no longer find out the truth about what happened back then!

Perhaps the crystal core in Song Wenwen's brain was even dissected by the superhuman, so how could she possibly tell the truth back then!

"Go away! And don't call us Mom and Dad anymore."

The kindness that Song's mother showed when she was with Song Wenwen was gone from her face; all that remained was indifference.

She will always remember Song Wenwen's behavior when Song Ning and Song Hongfei did not return that night.

"Mom, do you really not want me anymore?" Song Kerou took two steps toward her mother, trying to tug at her sleeve.

"No, remember this: this is my home, not yours. If you come here again, you'll be trespassing. In this day and age, it would be perfectly justified for me to kill you!"

The fingers of Song's mother overflowed with scorching heat as she raised her hand mercilessly towards Song Kerou.

She was increasingly convinced that Wenwen's situation was inextricably linked to Song Kerou; it was a woman's intuition.

Wenwen is getting better and better, and I believe that one day she will regain her memory, at which point the truth will come to light.
