Chapter 687 Run!

A stench of decay filled the air.

Bai Xizhu held her breath and looked into the sea.

The sea returned to calm, as if the splashing waves were just an accident.

Beneath the calm surface of the sea, a dark shadow can be seen receding into the distance until it disappears completely.

Its mysterious aura also vanished without a trace.

Perhaps, in its eyes, its wave was nothing more than a gentle wave of its hand, and the terrifying pressure that shattered Bai Xizhu's control was nothing more than a glance at the mayflies on the beach.

As the bus drove further and further away, Bai Xizhu could no longer see the dark shadow on the sea or the beach.

But she could still hear the sound of countless zombies and marine creatures slapping the ground, and Bai Xizhu reached out to cover her ears.

Yet, the incessant sound could still be heard.

Bai Xizhu paused for a moment, then leaned on something and managed to stand up.

Bai Xizhu only then noticed that Leng Yebai had not yet stood up, and his eyes were fixed on the base commander.

Upon hearing Bai Xizhu's voice, Leng Yebai snapped out of his daze, noticed the bloodstains around Bai Xizhu's mouth, his eyes narrowed, and he quickly stood up.

"Xiao Zhu, are you alright?"

Leng Yebai's voice was somewhat hoarse. He supported Bai Xizhu with one hand and helped the nearly unconscious base commander up with the other, placing him on the sofa.

"I'm fine, I'll just eat something good to replenish my energy."

Bai Xizhu shook her head, grabbed a bottle of water, and walked towards the sofa.

The water is from a spiritual spring, and the base commander in his current state definitely needs to drink some of it.

Bai Xizhu had just unscrewed the bottle cap when she looked at the base commander sitting on the sofa and suddenly stopped.

The base commander leaned back on the sofa, his eyes barely open.

His left arm had disappeared, leaving only a wound on his shoulder, a result of being ripped off by some kind of ferocious beast.

White bone fragments were exposed, but no blood flowed out.

The blood had long since drained away, and even the wounds had turned somewhat pale from being washed by the seawater.
