Chapter 87 Small Zombie Horde

Bai Xizhu and Zhang Yiming brushed past each other. Zhang Yiming stood quietly in place, his pale fingers clenching slightly and then slowly relaxing.

He took a deep breath, and all he could smell was the mutated wolf blood splattered on her body.

The stench of blood filled my nostrils and raged through my mind.

He restrained himself, and restrained himself even more, suppressing his instincts to the extreme.

The stench of blood tormented him, leaving his mind blank, yet a smile played on his lips.

Just now, he and she were only half a step apart.

He followed at a distance after the two had walked some distance away.

"Xiaoming, where are you going? Aren't you going to the safe base?" Bai Xizhu turned her head and asked.

Zhang Yiming's fire-based superpower is quite unique, which makes him an easy target for research institutes.

"I still need to find my friend, so I don't plan to go to the safe base for the time being."

Zhang Yiming revealed a standard smile, as clean and sunny as before the apocalypse.

"Alright then!" Bai Xizhu glanced in the direction of the safe base and added a word of caution, "Don't flaunt your wealth, and be careful not to get caught and studied by some lunatics!"

The research institute captured her and Leng Yebai because of their special abilities.

Zhang Yiming's fire-based superpower is also quite unique; his bewitching flames are incredibly hot, and he might even attract the attention of that research institute.

A flicker of panic crossed Zhang Yiming's usually gentle face.

Could it be that she knew he was...?

"Xiao Zhu, what are you saying? I don't understand." Zhang Yiming tried to remain calm.

"It's nothing. I just saw some weird scientists in TV dramas who would grab people and dissect them for experiments. Your superpower is so special, you could easily be dissected by someone," Bai Xizhu said.

Zhang Yiming quietly looked into Bai Xizhu's eyes, those pure eyes seemed to be recalling something.

Thankfully, it's not disgust.

No findings were found.

"Okay, I'll be careful."

Zhang Yiming smiled gently.

The bright sunlight shone on Zhang Yiming, perfectly illuminating his gentle face, making him look like a god among men.

The eyes of the gods held the stars, as always, clean and bright.

Suddenly, those star-filled eyes lowered, glanced briefly behind them, and then returned to normal.

Leng Yebai narrowed his eyes and looked behind Zhang Yiming.

Zhang Yiming subtly blocked Leng Yebai's view.

"roar--"

The roars of zombies could be heard in the distance.

Leng Yebai calmed down slightly and stopped looking behind Zhang Yiming, instead quietly hooking his fingers around Bai Xizhu's.

"Xiao Zhu, I have something to do and I have to go. You guys..." Zhang Yiming paused.

"Let's leave in a bit; it's been a long time since I've seen such lush greenery."

Bai Xizhu glanced at the lush forest and felt very happy.

Before the apocalypse, the forests weren't this lush; the leaves were sparse and half-dead.

Now, as far as the eye can see, everything is green.

The environment is indeed much better than before the apocalypse.

If you stay here a little longer, you might even catch a plump, mutated rabbit.

A barbecue on a picnic – absolutely amazing!

Zhang Yiming opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something, but he didn't.

Looking back into the distance, Zhang Yiming's eyes flashed with a hint of ferocity.

The distant roars of zombies subsided, followed by even more ferocious howls.

Turning his head, Zhang Yiming's face once again wore a gentle smile.

"Xiao Zhu, is that green garbage truck yours? I saw Grandpa Bai get out of the garbage truck last time!"

Zhang Yiming pointed to the overpass above.

In the distance, you can see a bright green garbage truck speeding towards this direction on the overpass.

Bai Xizhu looked in the direction Zhang Yiming pointed, "That's Grandpa Wang's garbage truck. Grandpa Wang is a friend of my grandfather. They have a very good relationship and often go out together to 'find supplies'."

The garbage truck was driving on the overpass, getting closer and closer.

"roar--"

The roars of zombies echoed from the overpass, growing louder and louder.

Clearly, there was more than one zombie.

"Why are there so many?"

Leng Yebai frowned as he looked up at the overpass above him.

Behind the garbage truck, swarms of zombies charged wildly toward it.

This can be considered a small-scale zombie horde!

It felt like we were about to catch up with the garbage truck in the next second.

Although they were all low-level zombies, there were a lot of them. The zombies were crowded together and roared as they rushed towards the garbage truck.

Each time, I almost caught up with the garbage truck.

Bai Xi rubbed her forehead.

She had no idea that these three old men were having so much fun!

Normally, we only attract a few hundred zombies at most, but now there must be thousands!

The overpass was swarming with zombies, as if they could collapse it at any moment.

"We're leaving now, you go find your friend!"

Bai Xizhu pulled Leng Yebai outside, found a place to go onto the overpass, and caught up with the garbage truck that was speeding away.

"Okay, be careful!"

Zhang Yiming stood still, watching the two walk away.

The green garbage truck kept running forward and soon disappeared from sight, but what could still be seen was the pile of zombies.

The zombies continued their relentless pursuit, forming a long, impressive line.

Leng Yebai and Bai Xizhu quickly disappeared from sight, but the horde of corpses could still be vaguely seen rushing forward.

A bee the size of a mandarin duck chased after Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai.
