A strong, fishy stench wafted over.
In the distance, a whale the size of a small mountain was slapping its massive body on the beach.
Its body was so enormous that it splashed the still-receding seawater into the air.
The ground trembled as the zombie whale pounded the water, turning the seawater into a mist. The zombie whale appeared like a mirage within the sea mist.
This is an adult whale, many times larger than an elephant; humans appear extremely small in its presence.
This whale was about 33 meters long, and you couldn't see its head at a glance. With just a couple of splashes, it created several deep ravines on the beach.
Whale strandings are not unheard of, but this time it's not an ordinary whale that's stranded; it's a zombie whale.
If an ordinary whale is stranded for a period of time and no one helps it return to the sea, it will die.
The most destructive force of a stranded whale is the accumulation of large amounts of putrefactive gases in its body, which then causes a natural explosion.
But even without water, zombie whales will not die.
Its enormous body thrashed about on the beach, causing the ground to tremble, and the stranded fish and shrimp were mercilessly crushed into mud.
These are nothing compared to what's to come.
What made Bai Xizhu and her companion's scalps tingle was that the zombie whale was actually thrashing towards them.
The zombie whale clearly craved the flesh and blood of Bai Xizhu and her companion.
...It was probably the first time I had ever tasted flesh and blood from land, and it smelled much better than fish.
It had no limbs and was not as agile as the zombie animals on land. It could only struggle and barely manage to crush the two people in their direction.
I'm not worried at all about how I'll get back to the sea.
Its consciousness has not awakened; it merely relies on instinct to devour flesh and blood. It will not die, nor will its instinct to devour flesh and blood disappear.
As long as no one kills it, it will continue to writhe on land, and its destructive power is extremely strong. If it weren't for its slow speed, the zombie animals stranded in the ocean could almost effortlessly destroy human bases.
As the zombie whale thrashed about, chunks of rotting flesh tore off its body, and the smell could be detected from a great distance.
The rotting flesh that had fallen off was everywhere, and any one of the pieces was heavier than Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai.
I really don't know why the zombie whale went through all that trouble!
Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai didn't have time to observe carefully as they quickly dodged the crushing force that resembled a small mountain.
The zombie whale opened its blood-red maw, the putrid smell from its mouth becoming even stronger. Its black teeth were incredibly sharp, and it viciously bit down at Bai Xizhu with a series of snapping motions.
Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai were agile, but the zombie whale's flapping speed was too fast. Even if the zombie whale couldn't control its direction properly, it would bite them sooner or later.
Purple lightning and countless steel needles struck the zombie whale.
"roar--"
The roar of the zombie whale sounded like that of an ancient beast.
The lightning and steel needles caused a large amount of rotting flesh to fall off its body, quickly revealing the bones in its abdomen.
But its head was incredibly hard; even a steel needle couldn't penetrate its skull.
Bai Xizhu narrowed her eyes, and while the zombie whale was roaring, she suddenly inserted several steel needles into its mouth.
The only way to destroy the brain is through the mouth.
One, two, the steel needle entered the mouth, but it couldn't penetrate the hard skull.
Bai Xizhu did not give up and continued to control the steel needles.
As the two dodged, their supernatural abilities occasionally struck the zombie whale.
The zombie whale was too big, over thirty meters long, and since it had no pain receptors, the released supernatural power had almost no effect on it.
This is just a mindless zombie whale. Higher-level zombie whales in the sea have the ability to think, can control other zombie animals, and are extremely lethal.
If this were on land, humanity would truly face an utter catastrophe.
The sound of heavy objects crushing echoed across the beach as the zombie whale relentlessly pursued Bai Xizhu and her companion, all for the sake of this small amount of flesh and blood.
"Son, daughter-in-law, don't be afraid! I'm coming to save you!"
A soft, childish voice came from inside.
Bai Xizhu subconsciously looked in the direction from which the sound came, and only saw a thin little girl.
It's the little girl who lost her dog yesterday. She looks about the same age as Bai Yifan, but she's taken a liking to the base leader.
The frail little girl looked like she could be blown away by the wind, but she ran towards Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai without hesitation.
They were completely unafraid of the behemoth behind them.
"Daughter-in-law, this is a gift for you."
Zhang Chen ran to Bai Xizhu's side and, taking a moment from his busy schedule, stuffed a few large, round pearls into Bai Xizhu's hand.
Bai Xizhu looked down and saw that it was a pearl, the kind that had just been taken out of the oyster, still wet.
Each pearl is the size of a baby's fist, indicating that they have mutated.
These pearls are different from those that glow; they are just ordinary pearls.
Each one is perfectly round, naturally formed, and excellent.
"Run! Don't worry about us!" Bai Xizhu grabbed Zhang Chen and pushed him in one direction.
The zombie whales are extremely deadly; Zhang Chen, a small and thin girl, wouldn't even be a match for them.
"Don't be afraid, daughter-in-law, I'm very strong!"
Zhang Chen's voice carried a hint of shyness, but his eyes were indeed extremely firm.
