Chapter 133 Carpenter Zombie

rustling sound—

The sound of planing wood grew clearer and clearer.

It was accompanied by the heavy panting of some kind of animal.

Leng Yebai took a big step forward, ahead of Bai Xizhu.

In case of an emergency, Leng Yebai can better protect Bai Xizhu.

He knew Xiao Zhu was very capable, but he still didn't want her to get hurt in the slightest.

After walking for a while, the two stood in front of an inconspicuous door.

The door was somewhat dilapidated, with much of the white paint peeling off, revealing the wood underneath.

The sounds of panting and planing wood came from behind the door.

Bai Xizhu lightly tapped her finger in the air, and the white wooden door slowly opened.

The sound of planing wood didn't stop; the "person" inside was still planing wood.

It was pitch black inside, but you could vaguely see a figure holding a tool, bending over and clearing a piece of wood.

The ground was covered in sawdust, which was ankle-deep.

The log was originally a section cut from a large tree that took two people to encircle, but under the cultivation of the "people" holding tools, nearly three-quarters of it was forcibly removed.

The middle part is concave, but the two round ends are still as thick as a tree that two people can hug.

rustling sound—

The arrival of Bai Xizhu and the other person did not distract Ying, who remained focused on planing wood.

Bai Xizhu took out a flashlight from her spatial storage.

With a snap, the flashlight was switched on.

A beam of light shone directly onto the figure of the man planing wood.

The light trembled slightly.

Bai Xizhu took a step back.

What came into view was a zombie with rotting flesh covering its face.

The zombie was wearing blue overalls, which were stained with black blood.

His slightly graying hair revealed his identity; he had been a diligent old carpenter in his lifetime.

Heavy breathing came from his chest.

It had probably not eaten for a long time; its eye sockets were severely sunken, and the rotten flesh on its cheeks was barely hanging on its face, just a tiny clump.

His withered fingers twisted strangely, barely able to hold the wood-planing tool.

rustling sound—

The zombie remained unresponsive, its dull eyes fixed on the piece of wood in front of it.

Once, twice.

Wood chips drifted to the ground, and among them, a pair of blackened, rotting feet could be vaguely seen.

The rotting flesh on his feet clung precariously to the surface, with some wood chips stuck to it. The wood chips were stained with black blood, making it look no different from rotting flesh.

Purple lightning crackled from Leng Yebai's fingertips, poised to strike.

"Wait a minute!" Bai Xizhu stopped Leng Yebai, staring intently at the carpenter zombie. "Can you understand us?"

After meeting Xiao Luo, Bai Xizhu realized that nature's challenges to humanity were far more complex than just the zombie apocalypse.

Zombies have classes.

The higher the rank of the zombie, the more powerful it is.

In other words, the higher the rank of the zombie, the smarter it is.

Zombies include ordinary zombies, Tier 1 zombies, Tier 2 zombies, and so on...

There are ordinary people, people with superpowers, first-tier people with superpowers, second-tier people with superpowers...

This is evolution.

Perhaps, after zombies evolve to a certain stage, they will become "zombie kings" like Xiao Luo.

Some people are born in Rome.

Some people, no matter how hard they try, never see Rome.

Zombies are the same.

Some people die and become bloodthirsty walking corpses.

Some people retained their memories and thoughts, becoming the highest level of zombies.

The zombie in front of them wasn't as naturally gifted as Xiao Luo, but it was quite different from ordinary zombies.

It has vague fragments of its own memories from its previous life.

Aside from Xiao Luo, this zombie was the most unique one Bai Xizhu had ever seen.

Bai Xizhu held her breath and quietly watched the carpenter zombie.

The carpenter zombie's withered fingers still gripped the tools tightly, planing the wood again and again.

Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai weren't in a hurry; they just stood there and watched its reaction.

A minute later, the carpenter zombie seemed to have just noticed the two people.

His withered fingers paused slightly, and the stiff muscles on his face twitched almost imperceptibly.

The carpenter zombie tilted its head slightly, looking at Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai as if they were small animals.

Bang bang bang!

Bai Xizhu heard her own heartbeat.

After meeting Xiao Luo, she understood that there were different levels of zombies.

It was like opening a door, behind which lay an abyss.

The mindless, bloodthirsty zombies have already overwhelmed people's survival.

If advanced zombies appear, can humanity still stand at the top of the pyramid?

What if one day, zombies take over the world?

How will the zombie king deal with humans?

It possesses human intelligence and thought, and will not indiscriminately capture everything.

Perhaps, humans will become domesticated food, or "culture dishes" to provide new members for the zombies...

Just thinking about it sends chills down my spine.

Similarly, humans will show no mercy to zombies, and will fight them to the death.

"Hehe--"

The carpenter zombie's heavy cries pulled Bai Xizhu back to reality.

The carpenter zombie's rotting feet twitched slightly as it staggered toward Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai.

One step, two steps, with each step, a black footprint was left on the wood chips on the ground.

Its rotting body emitted a faint yellow light, interspersed with red flames; this was a Tier 3 Golden Fire Dual-Element Zombie.
