The black car stopped in front of a quaint courtyard filled with lush green plants.
The yard was completely covered by vines, just like a forest cabin in a fairy tale.
"Don't move around too much later," the butcher stall owner added, still worried.
He wasn't a good person; he just wanted to earn more crystal cores and thought Leng Yebai and his companion were his biggest customers.
After saying that, the butcher stall owner waddled down from the driver's seat.
Leng Yebai and Bai Xizhu exchanged a glance and got out of the car.
While the butcher was opening the trunk of his car, Bai Xizhu carefully observed the plants twining around the wall of the yard.
The plant contains a peculiar energy, which is very similar to supernatural abilities, clearly indicating that it is a mutated plant.
Occasionally, Bai Xizhu would also smell a faint fragrance.
The fragrance wasn't very strong, but it made Bai Xizhu look a little dazed.
Without making a sound, Bai Xizhu released the mutated datura flower from her spatial storage and wrapped it around her wrist.
The purple mutated datura flower transformed into a bracelet with purple flowers on Bai Xizhu's wrist.
The mutated datura flower also emitted a faint fragrance, a fragrance that was only for Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai, and only the two of them could smell it.
The fragrance of the datura flowers successfully cleared Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai's minds.
"Let's go! Don't move around too much, just follow me."
The butcher stall owner gave one more instruction, then carried the meat from his trunk and walked at the front.
Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai walked side by side behind the butcher stall owner.
Green vines were also wrapped around the gate of the courtyard, and it would be impossible to open the door without removing the vines.
The butcher stall owner didn't damage the vines; he simply threw the meat from his back toward the gate and then took a step back.
The heavy meat collided with the vines, producing a heavy thud.
Surprisingly, the green vines all sprang to life, rushing towards the fleshy spikes in a frenzy.
The cloth covering the meat was easily cut open, and before the meat could even fall to the ground, it was devoured by the green vines.
Bai Xizhu clearly saw that when the vines were "eating" the meat, they bulged up and down, making it look as if there was something inside the vines.
The bloody smell from the meat quickly faded, and only after the bloody smell completely disappeared did the green vines remain motionless, twining around the ancient wall.
Unlike before, there are no more vines at the gate.
The butcher stall owner rubbed his fingers together, seemingly a little nervous, but still gently knocked on the door.
"Cook, we have a guest."
The butcher's voice wasn't as loud as usual; it carried a hint of fear.
What he feared was not the cook, but the vines that entwined the courtyard wall.
This is the home turf of the mutated plants. If things really come to a head, he really is no match for the mutated plants.
Someone inside responded, and then the door opened.
As the door opened, the scent emanating from the vines on the wall became even stronger.
This mutant plant, like the datura flower, is a hallucinogenic vine!
Bai Xizhu quietly moved her fingers and hid the datura flower on her wrist in her pocket.
Leng Yebai stood close to Bai Xizhu, whose pocket was filled with datura flowers. Under the influence of the datura fragrance, both of them were very clear-headed, but they still pretended to be somewhat dazed as they followed behind the butcher stall owner with blank expressions.
Before entering, the butcher glanced back at Bai Xizhu and the other woman, noticing their somewhat dazed expressions, before continuing inside.
The person who opened the door inside was about the same size as the butcher stall owner.
His greasy face was plastered with smiles, and his flesh jiggled as he walked.
This man, like all chefs, wore white clothes and a tall hat, and his neck and head were almost the same thickness.
Before the apocalypse, he must have been a great chef.
"Butcher, today's customer doesn't seem very formidable!"
The cook glanced at Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai, and frowned slightly.
The higher the guest's superpower, the more crystal cores they can offer, and the more they earn.
The more powerful the superpowered individual, the less likely they are to be misled by the vines on the wall. Some superpowered individuals only begin to appear dazed after entering the enclosure.
The two young men hadn't even entered the gate yet; they were still some distance away when they already looked dazed.
Clearly, the cook had some doubts about their abilities.
"Don't underestimate them. Both of them are at least third-tier ability users. They can easily pull out a second-tier crystal core. Once we reach an agreement with them, we'll have a steady stream of crystal cores coming to us."
The butcher stall owner, with a greasy smile, turned around and waved to Bai Xizhu, signaling the two of them to continue following him.
Clearly, they already believed that Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai had been bewitched by the vines, so they discussed the crystal core issue in front of them.
They weren't afraid that Bai Xi and Zhu would find out their purpose!
Bai Xizhu and the other woman cooperated very well, without saying a word, simply following them with expressionless faces.
"Alright! Let them go in first! If they bring back very few crystal cores later, let the vines eat them. At least we can get two high-level crystal cores."
The cook nodded and opened the door completely.
Bai Xizhu noticed that when the cook opened the door, his fingers were shimmering with tiny green lights.
