As time passed, the sunlight grew brighter, illuminating the entire courtyard with a dazzling brilliance. Caressed by the sunlight, the flowers in the courtyard blossomed with ever more brilliant colors, emitting bursts of enchanting fragrance. Bees and butterflies flitted busily among the blossoms, seemingly adding vitality and energy to this beautiful day.
Su Jinli and Jiang Yan walked hand in hand into the courtyard. Su Jinli squatted down, gently pinched Nianli's little face, and said, "Nianli, this is not how you eat chili peppers. But I'll ask the kitchen to make you fried pork with chili peppers later, okay?" Nianli's eyes lit up like two little stars when she heard this, and she jumped up excitedly, "Yes, yes! I want to eat lots of fried pork with chili peppers!"
Jiang Yan walked over to Si Yan, looked at the arithmetic problem in his hand, and patiently explained the correct algorithm to him. Si Yan listened very carefully, nodding from time to time, his eyes flashing with understanding. Under Jiang Yan's guidance, Si Yan finally calculated the correct answer. He jumped up happily and shouted, "I figured it out! Grandpa, I calculated it right!" Su Xiang walked over with a smile, touched Si Yan's head, and said, "Si Yan is so smart! You must continue to study hard in the future."
When Young Marquis Su saw Jiang Yan and Su Jinli coming over, he put down the wooden sword in his hand and said, "Sister, brother-in-law, you see, Nianli learns very quickly. Maybe she can become a female swordsman in the future!" Nianli waved her little fists and said in a baby voice, "I want to protect my father, mother, grandfather and brother!" Everyone laughed at Nianli's words.
In this joyful atmosphere, the family sat together, enjoying the warm morning hours. They talked about the little things in their lives, sharing their joys and dreams. Su Jinli looked at her family, her heart filled with gratitude. She knew this happiness was hard-earned, the result of their joint efforts.
Suddenly, Su Jinli remembered something and said, "Dad, Jiang Yan found out that the owner of Zhouji Silk Shop is Doctor Zhou's cousin. Maybe we can dig out more clues from him. But let's not rush now. We finally have such a happy moment. Let's enjoy this rare peace and happiness first. We can make long-term plans after a while."
Su Xiang nodded and said, "Li'er is right. These things are certainly important, but family reunion and happiness cannot be neglected. We have experienced so many hardships, and now we should cherish the happiness in front of us. As for those conspiracies and the truth, they will eventually come to light."
Jiang Yan also said: "Father-in-law is right. We now have enough time and energy to deal with these things, there is no need to rush. The most urgent thing is to let everyone relax and enjoy this wonderful time."
The family was once again immersed in a joyful atmosphere. They discussed what they wanted for breakfast, planned to pick fresh flowers from the garden, or shared interesting stories they had recently heard. Time slipped away amidst laughter and joy, as if, in that moment, all the world's worries had been forgotten.
Before they knew it, it was breakfast time. The kitchen staff brought out delicious dishes one after another, including Siyan's favorite osmanthus cake and shrimp dumplings, and Nianli's beloved stir-fried pork with chili peppers. The family gathered around the table and began to enjoy their breakfast. As they savored the food, they continued their lighthearted conversation.
"Sister, what do you think? When we go to the garden to pick flowers, should we make wreaths or put them in a vase?" Young Marquis Su asked while eating shrimp dumplings.
Su Jinli thought for a moment and said, "It's all right. If I make a wreath, Nianli will definitely like it. She can wear it and play in the garden. Putting it in a vase and placing it in the living room will fill the house with the fragrance of flowers, which is also very nice."
After hearing this, Nianli quickly said, "I want to make a wreath! I want to make a big wreath and wear it on my head like a princess!" After hearing this, everyone was amused by Nianli's innocence and cuteness.
Jiang Yan watched the lively scene, a flood of emotion welling up in his heart. He knew how precious such a family atmosphere was. In this bustling yet rife with intrigue and calculation in the capital, it was truly rare for the prime minister's residence to have such a warm and happy time. He secretly resolved to protect this happiness and not let anyone or anything destroy it.
After breakfast, the family descended upon the garden. The garden was ablaze with vibrant blossoms, each a dazzling display of color and fragrance. Si Yan and Nian Li flitted through the blossoms like two cheerful little birds, selecting their favorites. Su Jin Li and Jiang Yan assisted, arranging the flowers the children had chosen. Prime Minister Su and Young Marquis Su pruned the branches, contributing to the garden's beauty.
In a corner of the garden stood a stone bench and table. Su Jinli placed the flowers she had arranged on the stone table and began to teach Nianli how to make a wreath. Nianli studied diligently, her hands covered in pollen, but she paid no mind, her eyes filled with anticipation for the wreath. Under Su Jinli's guidance, a beautiful wreath gradually took shape. Nianli eagerly placed the wreath on her head and ran around the garden, beaming with joy.
"Sister, do you think I look like a princess?" Nianli ran to Su Jinli and asked with her little face raised.
Su Jinli smiled and nodded, saying, "Our Nianli is the most beautiful little princess."
Jiang Yan looked at Nianli and said with a smile: "Nianli is more beautiful than a princess when she wears the garland."
Elsewhere in the garden, Siyan was holding a small bottle, collecting dewdrops from flower petals. Curious about these natural phenomena, he peppered Jiang Yan with questions. Jiang Yan patiently answered Siyan's questions, guiding him to observe and reflect.
