Chapter 293: Wedding Preparations Facing Problems

"What do you know!" Su Qingyao was like a lit firecracker when she heard it. She jumped up and retorted, "This is my new creation, 'Flaming Red Lips'!" Her eyes suddenly lit up, as if she had come up with a brilliant idea. She grabbed Jiang Xiaohuang's wrist and said excitedly, "Xiaohuang, be the makeup model!"

"Huh?" Jiang Xiaohuang didn't have time to react before Su Qingyao dragged her into the Rouge Shop like a chicken. A moment later, she emerged with lips that were incredibly purple. The strange, almost terrifying color frightened everyone present.

"This color... is indeed unique." Mo Chen looked at Jiang Xiaohuang's lips, suppressing his smile until his face turned red. He finally squeezed out these words from between his teeth.

"Bah!" Su Qingyao was so angry that she slammed the rouge box in her hand on the table and said with gritted teeth, "There must be something wrong with the formula!" Suddenly, as if a light bulb had flashed on her head, she grabbed Jiang Xiaocai and said anxiously, "Don't you know how to calculate? Help me calculate the ratio of various spices! Maybe this way we can find the problem."

Jiang Xiaocai made a bitter face, took out his abacus helplessly, and said with a look of grievance: "Cousin, this is really not the same as settling accounts..."

Here, amidst the chaos and commotion over the wedding candy and rouge incident, Su Xiang, alone in his study, was intently and furtively writing a letter. His pen scratched across the paper, as if he were confiding some important secret. However, just as he finished, before he could properly hide the letter, the door creaked open, and Su Jinli walked in, catching him in the act.

"Master, are you submitting another memorial to the emperor?" Su Jinli raised her eyebrows slightly, her eyes falling directly on the letter paper in Prime Minister Su's hand.

Upon seeing this, Prime Minister Su was like a child caught stealing candy. He hurriedly stuffed the letter into his sleeve, his old face flushing crimson as he stammered, "I...I'm doing this for Xiao Huang's marriage! I'm asking the Emperor to grant the marriage, and also to stop the rumors, so that Xiao Huang's wedding can go smoothly."

Su Jinli sighed softly, walked slowly to his side, and said, "You were indifferent to the affairs of the backyard back then, but now you care about it more than anyone else." After that, she picked up the brush on the desk and added a sentence on the letter paper: "I hope Your Majesty will grant auspicious signs for my daughter's marriage." The handwriting was beautiful and powerful, and every stroke seemed to contain her deep blessings and expectations for her granddaughter.

Su Xiang gazed at her profile, his thoughts drifting back to that girl many years ago, at her coming-of-age banquet, fearlessly overturning the teacup, her eyes gleaming with a stubborn glint. Time had flown by like a fleeting horse, and they had all experienced countless trials and tribulations in the long river of time, undergoing changes to varying degrees. However, the emotions hidden deep in their hearts, like fine wine, grew mellower and remained unchanged.

"Oh right," Su Jinli put down her pen, her expression suddenly becoming serious. "I asked Xiaocai and the others to investigate the fire in the candy shop. I have a feeling there's more to it than meets the eye. There might be something else going on."

Su Xiang frowned, a hint of vigilance in his eyes, and asked, "Do you suspect someone set the fire intentionally?"

"Let's investigate first." Su Jinli stood up slowly. "But the most important thing right now is to keep an eye on Qingyao and prevent her from causing any more trouble and blowing up the entire Prime Minister's Mansion..."

Before he finished speaking, there was another loud noise in the distance, followed by Su Qingyao's familiar scream: "My 'Frozen' Rouge!"

Su Jinli and Su Xiang exchanged glances, sighing helplessly. It seemed the three-month wedding preparation period leading up to the Flower Festival was destined to be turbulent, with all sorts of challenges looming. Even so, the anticipation for Jiang Xiaohuang's wedding remained undimmed. Amidst the bustle and chaos, they diligently prepared for this grand wedding, their best wishes for Jiang Xiaohuang in mind. They eagerly anticipated that on the Flower Festival, Jiang Xiaohuang would wear her gorgeous wedding gown and happily embark on a new journey in life.
