Chapter 300: A Different Kind of Wedding

Amidst the blessings and expectations of the crowd, Jiang Xiaohuang and Mo Chen held a unique wedding ceremony in a dreamlike peach blossom forest on the outskirts of the city. The forest, like a stunning ceremony gifted by nature, a vibrant display of blossoms and falling petals created a romantic and poetic atmosphere for the wedding. Free from lengthy rituals or the constraints of traditional rules, the blossoms danced softly, like pink snowflakes, gently drifting down, intertwining with the sincere and warm blessings of family and friends, creating a warm and beautiful scene.

Young Marquis Su, excited, volunteered to be the master of ceremonies for this special wedding. Standing before the crowd, he tried to appear solemn and serious, but his usually carefree nature couldn't help but peek through. He cleared his throat and shouted, "The auspicious time has arrived. The wedding begins! Yibai..." The words somehow slipped up, and instead, he said "Yibai Baozipu." This sudden slip of the tongue startled everyone present, before they erupted in laughter. The laughter echoed through the peach blossom grove, seemingly tinging the entire world with joy. Young Marquis Su realized his mistake, scratched his head, and then joined in the laughter, his naivete causing everyone to burst into laughter.

Su Qingyao wasn't idle. Seizing the moments of laughter, she flitted among the guests like a nimble butterfly. Rouge in hand, she beamed with joy as she meticulously applied "peach blossom makeup" to each guest. This "peach blossom makeup," her latest creation, boasted a delicate, rosy hue, reminiscent of newly blossoming peach blossoms. It gently adorned the guests' faces, adding a touch of beauty and joy. Even Prime Minister Su, usually stern and reserved, blushed under Su Qingyao's passionate embrace, appearing even more approachable and cheerful.

Jiang Yan quietly watched the lively scene, his heart filled with emotion. He quietly reached out and gently took Su Jinli's hand. That hand was warm and strong, as if conveying the deep affection accumulated over the years. He tilted his head slightly and asked softly, "Do you remember our wedding?" His voice was gentle, as if he was afraid to disrupt the beautiful atmosphere.

Su Jinli nodded slightly, leaning gently on his shoulder, her eyes gleaming with memories. Her lips curled up slightly, and with a hint of a smile, she said, "How could you not remember? You even lifted your veil upside down, making such a fool of yourself." Her gaze passed over the crowd, gazing at Jiang Xiaohuang, who was busy distributing wedding candy to the guests, her eyes filled with kindness and relief. "But Xiaohuang was much bolder than us. This wedding was truly unique and unforgettable."

The wedding was in full swing, the atmosphere brimming with excitement, when the sound of hurried horse hooves suddenly reached them from afar. Everyone turned to look, only to see a horse galloping toward them like the wind. The rider, dressed in imperial attire, held an imperial edict in hand, his expression solemn. When the horse came to a stop, the rider dismounted and shouted, "The imperial edict has arrived!"

Everyone hurriedly straightened their clothes and knelt to receive the imperial edict. The rider unfolded the decree and read it aloud: "By the providence of Heaven, the Emperor decrees: I am delighted to hear that Jiang Xiaohuang and Mo Chen held a unique wedding in the peach blossom forest. I have specially sent a gift and personally inscribed a plaque with the words 'Love Stronger than Gold' to honor their deep affection. I wish the two newlyweds eternal love and a long life of joy. I decree this!"

Everyone thanked him and stood up. Prime Minister Su looked at the glittering golden plaque and couldn't help but complain, "Your Majesty is becoming more and more ridiculous." But his face was already smiling, his eyes filled with joy and pride. He turned to the old patriarch of the Wang family and said sincerely, "The children have all started their own families. It's time for us to let go of our prejudices. Let the past grudges be blown away by the wind."

The old patriarch of the Wang family quickly nodded in agreement, a pleased smile on his face: "That's right! One day I will definitely bring the family tree and recognize Mo Chen. He has now established a family and a career, and our Wang family cannot miss him again."

While the two families were enjoying themselves, immersed in an atmosphere of joy and reconciliation, Jiang Xiaocai sat alone in a corner, absorbed in his abacus. The beads danced rapidly under his fingertips, making a clear and pleasant sound. Wang Chengyi smiled slightly when he saw this, walked over, and chuckled softly, "What are you calculating again? You look so engrossed."

Jiang Xiaocai stared intently at the abacus without even looking up, muttering, "Calculate how much this wedding cost. You know, I have to calculate every single detail." He suddenly stopped what he was doing, looked up, his eyes gleaming brightly, and said seriously, "But... seeing my sister so happy, any amount of money is worth it! As long as she's happy, none of this matters."

Before they knew it, the sun was setting, tinting the sky a brilliant orange-red. The afterglow filtered through the gaps in the peach blossom forest, casting streaks of golden light, as if draping the entire world in a dreamy veil. The wedding was drawing to a close. Jiang Xiaohuang and Mo Chen, riding their horses, slowly approached the crowd. Their faces were filled with happy smiles, their eyes filled with longing and anticipation for their future lives.

Jiang Xiaohuang straightened her back, her voice clear and resonant, like a silver bell drifting on the wind: "We're off to explore the world!" She turned to look at Mo Chen, her eyes filled with love and determination. "I'll bring you some local specialties when we return!" With that, the two men whipped their horses, their steeds neighed, and they galloped off into the distance. Their figures faded in the setting sun, leaving behind only their laughter and joy, as if telling this beautiful story and foreshadowing the wonderful journey they were about to embark on. This unique wedding would surely become a legend in the capital, long remembered and celebrated.
