Chapter 48 Think of Your Daughter

"What are you trying to do?" Li Rouniang noticed Zhao Mazi and the others and asked them sharply.

Seeing that there was only one woman, Zhao Mazi became emboldened and said, "You let your child steal and you still think you're right? Guards, arrest them all and take them back."

As soon as she finished speaking, the crowd swarmed forward. Li Rouniang had learned some martial arts these days, so she fought with them.

But ultimately, two fists can't fight four hands, let alone eight of them.

She quickly lost ground and hurriedly shouted to Erni, "Erni, take Duobao and run!"

Erni couldn't possibly abandon her mother at this moment and refused to leave no matter what. Just then, Qian Duobao spotted the steward and shouted, "Steward Qian, I'm here!"

Steward Qian was ordered to find Qian Duobao, but his wife, Granny Gu, had instructed him to pretend he didn't see him even if he found him, so as not to ruin the young lady's plans.

So the steward pretended not to hear and instead led the servants to run in the opposite direction.

At this moment, someone held Li Rouniang down.

Just as Li Rouniang was getting anxious, she heard the person holding her down scream "Ah!" and then release her grip.

Without thinking twice, Li Rouniang seized the opportunity to kick the man.

From this point on, Li Rouniang seemed to have divine assistance, and none of the eight men were a match for her. Whenever it was a crucial moment, they would deliberately reveal their weaknesses.

Taking advantage of the fact that the eight people had been knocked to the ground, Li Rouniang quickly grabbed one child with each hand and left.

“Aunt Li, let’s go back to the Qian family home,” Qian Duobao said.

Li Rouniang nodded and then ran towards the Qian family with her two children.

They saw Jinzi and his men searching for Qian Duobao. Jinzi saw Qian Duobao from afar and rushed over: "My little darling, I've finally found you."

The boy, who was only a little over ten years old, suddenly started crying, which made Qian Duobao feel helpless: "I'm the one who's embarrassed, and I'm not even crying, so why are you crying?"

"I just feel sorry for the young master. He has never suffered like this before. Young master, look how dark your face is."

At this moment, Qian Duobao was indeed disheveled and embarrassed, and the group returned to the Qian family home together.

Mr. and Mrs. Qian, holding Qian Duobao, were naturally overjoyed to have him back and wept tears of happiness.

Qian Ruyi felt annoyed when she saw Qian Duobao's wide eyes, but this was not the time to be angry.

She gave a nod to Granny Gu, who then quietly slipped out.

"Duobao, what exactly happened?" Master Qian asked after calming down.

"Father, I was tricked by Zhao Erni's grandmother. She lured me out and then kidnapped me." Qian Duobao recounted the whole story of how he was tricked, including how they left the brothel.

"Thanks to Aunt Hua, we were able to escape," Erni said with emotion.

This must be a case of good deeds being rewarded. Madam Qian also sighed, saying that it was all thanks to Li Rou Niang's kindness back then; otherwise, those two children would probably have been sold off somewhere unknown.

"Father, Mother, I just saw Steward Qian on the street, but he pretended not to see me and left." Qian Duobao quickly complained after thinking about this.

Master Qian was also shocked to hear this, never expecting his steward to do such a thing. He immediately ordered his servants to bring the steward back.

When the steward saw Qian Duobao sitting in the hall, he knew that his scheme had been exposed. However, he still tried to defend himself, saying, "Young master, you are truly innocent. I really didn't see you."

After all, there was no substantial evidence, but Master Qian dared not use this person as his butler again.

"Ruyi, you can take this person with you. He and your wet nurse, Granny Gu, are husband and wife, so it's not easy to separate them."

So Mr. Qian gave him to Qian Ruyi.

"Yes, Father, rest assured, I will discipline them strictly from now on," Qian Ruyi said.

Mr. Qian nodded without giving it much thought.

Madam Qian couldn't help but wonder why Steward Qian would act this way. Perhaps Qian Ruyi was behind it all!

Thinking about it made me feel terrible. I had given my whole heart to raising this daughter, but she had repeatedly harmed my son.

Yes, more than once. Each time, Madam Qian discovered some clues, but she had no substantial evidence, so she didn't tell her husband. After all, it would seem like she, as a stepmother, was being unforgiving.

“Madam Li, even if that old woman Zhao is your mother-in-law, she still abducted my son, and I absolutely cannot tolerate her.”

Master Qian greeted Li Rou Niang first, and Li Rou Niang nodded. She already hated this mother-in-law to the core!

"You four go to Zhao Family Village and take that old woman Zhao to the government office!" Master Qian ordered, then said to Madam Qian, "Madam, I'm going to the government office. Please treat Lady Li well."

He then patted Duobao's head before leaving.

Meanwhile, Granny Gu had already found Granny Zhao and told her that the plan had failed. Granny Zhao was shocked and exclaimed, "How could this be? What are we going to do?"

"Hey, big sister, I'm not trying to be mean, but you were so careless. Besides, how could you kidnap our Qian family's young master?" Gu Momo tentatively complained.

"How could it be me who abducted them? Wasn't this what Miss Qian said to do?" Granny Zhao didn't care about anything else at this moment, and grabbed Granny Gu and said, "Now that things have come to this, you can't just pass the buck to me and leave me alone. I said that if I get caught, I will drag you all down with me."

Granny Zhao thought that if this was the case, Granny Gu and the others would definitely find a way to help her.

To everyone's surprise, Granny Gu's expression changed immediately. She forcefully pushed Granny Zhao away and said, "What you're saying is quite interesting. Our young lady is Young Master Qian's own sister. What reason would she have to frame her own brother? And what evidence do you have that our young lady instructed you? This is blatant slander."
