Chapter Fifty-One: Ruyi Teahouse

"Ru Meng, congratulations." Hua Ru Meng's teahouse opened as promised.

Rou Niang came to offer her congratulations with gifts. During this time, the two had actually contacted each other several times. Li Rou Niang also helped Ru Meng with the renovation and shopping. Over time, the two became acquainted.

If Li Rouniang initially harbored feelings of gratitude towards Hua Rumeng, after spending more time together, she found that the two shared similar interests and were like old friends who hadn't seen each other for many years.

"Thank you, but I've changed my name to Hua Ruyi now. I hope everything goes well for me in the future!"

Hua Rumeng, no, the current Hua Ruyi, said happily.

Her teahouse was a small two-story establishment; the upstairs was for lodging, and the downstairs was for drinking tea. She could barely make ends meet.

Although it wasn't as lucrative as working in the brothel, life was much more stable.

Naturally, the fact that a courtesan like her could afford to run a brothel attracted the covetous eyes of some lewd men.

Fortunately, Mr. Qian stepped in to resolve many issues for her, so her Ruyi Teahouse, which was part of the Qian family's business, no one dared to harbor any evil intentions anymore.

Li Rouniang was genuinely happy for Hua Ruyi. She was also quite emotional, wondering how she would raise three children if she were to truly leave the Zhao family one day.

"Rou Niang, shouldn't you end things with Zhao Dayou?" Hua Ruyi had also inquired about Li Rou Niang's situation and sympathized with her plight.

There are countless people suffering in this world, and these two can be considered to share the same fate.

"Sigh, of course I want to, and it troubles me. If we were to divorce, and I could take all three children with me at once, I would do it without hesitation. My only fear is that I might not be able to take them all with me then," Li Rou Niang sighed.

She felt disgusted if she had to spend the rest of her life making do with Zhao Da, but for the sake of her child, she wasn't incapable of persevering.

She's working so hard to learn martial arts from Mo Bei so that she'll have a way to fight back if Zhao Dayou attacks her again in the future.

She thought that Zhao Dayou beat her so ruthlessly simply because she didn't have a powerful family to back her up. If she could stand up and fight back, wouldn't Zhao Dayou be less likely to beat her and treat the children better?

Of course, these are all her own thoughts, and who can say for sure what they will actually be like?

Hua Ruyi also sighed for Li Rouniang. She didn't know how to persuade her. After all, as a mother, every child is precious to her and cannot be abandoned.

The two were somewhat depressed, and before long they drank too much. Li Rou was pulling Hua Ruyi and telling her about her painful experiences over the years when Baihe in the kitchen overheard them.

Yes, Lily also left the brothel. She temporarily followed Hua Ruyi to work odd jobs at this teahouse to make ends meet.

Hearing about Rou Niang's plight, she felt sympathy for her. Without Rou Niang, she might have died long ago, who knows?

Of course, that's not the main point. The main point is that Baihe's heart was broken by that jerk. She knows that her time with Hua Ruyi is only temporary, and she naturally wants to have her own place in the world.

Then she rolled her eyes and made a plan.

The next day she took her leave and disappeared without a trace. Hua Ruyi naturally didn't inquire too much, since every flower maid had her own background and secrets. Although they were good sisters, Baihe didn't want to tell her, so she didn't force her.

That day, Li Rou Niang got drunk and stumbled back to the village. It seemed Mo Bei helped her into her room, but she couldn't remember what happened afterward. She only remembered a headache the next morning, which immediately relieved her of the pain by drinking the spiritual spring water from her spatial storage.

I must say, this spiritual spring water is really effective.

She took the children to the Mo family's house, and Mo Bei opened the door. Upon seeing her, Mo Bei blushed deeply and stammered.

Li Rouniang was confused, but after tidying up, she followed Mo Bei to learn kung fu as usual, while Mo Bei dodged and weaved.

What puzzled Li Rouniang even more was that while the children were playing, she had to go over and ask, "Mo Bei, what's wrong with you today? Why are you being so evasive? Is there something you want to tell me?"

Mo Bei hadn't expected Li Rou Niang to ask so frankly.

He paused for a moment, then asked suggestively, "Last night..."

Then Mo Bei didn't say anything more, but just looked at Li Rou Niang. Li Rou Niang rubbed her head, she really couldn't remember what happened last night, and looked at Mo Bei with a questioning look.

Seeing Li Rouniang's state, Mo Bei understood. She had probably drunk too much yesterday and had forgotten everything. For some reason, the slight avoidance in his heart had turned into a deep sense of loss.

Yesterday, Rou Niang drank too much. When she came to pick up the children, he was a little worried, so he helped Li Rou Niang back to the Zhao family home. After sending the children to bed, he helped Li Rou Niang to bed.

To his surprise, Li Rou Niang wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him unexpectedly. Caught off guard, he was kissed squarely.

Mo Bei originally intended to push her away, but for some reason, his heart was pounding so hard that he was somewhat tempted by that warmth. So he turned the tables and embraced her.

Later, when he heard Erni calling him from outside the door, he ran out in a panic.

Mo Bei thought that Li Rouniang liked treating him this way, as a kind of subtle confession.

He didn't sleep a wink last night, thinking about many things. He even wanted to be with Li Rouniang, including sharing his duties and secrets, and being completely honest with her.

Just as he was hesitating and feeling a little shy, he never expected that Li Rouniang would completely forget about the matter.

Mo Bei was somewhat unwilling, considering he had been so shy all night. However, while disappointed, he also felt a sense of relief. Wouldn't it be better to forget about it?

So he said in a complicated tone, "It's nothing, I just didn't sleep well last night."

Li Rouniang stopped asking questions, thinking that perhaps it was just her imagination and that Mo Bei's unusual behavior today was not because of her.

She could tell that Mo Bei's martial arts skills and his father's secluded life in this small village must be hiding something. But since they wouldn't talk about it, she didn't ask. Sometimes, saying too much is counterproductive.

Moreover, she still had unresolved matters to attend to, and Li Rouniang had been feeling inexplicably uneasy lately.

Counting the days, these three months will be over in no time.

It seems that in the end, it will only be a matter of hurting the enemy a thousand and yourself eight hundred, a head-on collision. Whoever can hold out until the end will gain the right to speak.

Thinking of this, Li Rouniang gritted her teeth and practiced her kung fu even more diligently.

Mo Bei was left alone, bewildered in the wind, struggling to process the complex emotions in his heart.
