Chapter Twenty-Five: The Turmoil

It turned out that there really was a little girl who woke him up.

Is she a fairy?

She saved his life! Qian Duobao was stunned and wanted to go forward, but the woman who was holding the fairy was really fierce. She picked up the fairy and left without even looking at him.

"Duobao, what brings you here?" Madam Qian rushed forward when she saw Qian Duobao.

"Mother, that girl is a fairy. I saw her in my dream, and then I woke up," Qian Duobao said, pointing to Erni as she left.

Mrs. Qian was taken aback, and her belief grew even stronger that this girl was her son's lucky star.

Since that's the case, she has to make sure the two of them get to know each other no matter what.

On the one hand, Master Qian hurriedly ordered his servants to secretly follow the master, and on the other hand, he regretted not being able to find out where the master lived.

As soon as Li Rouniang left the Qian family, Mo Bei followed. The two of them, with the children in tow, hurried back without stopping, since there were still two infants at home who needed to be fed.

The two babies wouldn't drink the goat milk that Old Man Mo had prepared; instead, they cried loudly. Li Rou Niang hadn't even entered the door yet, but she could hear their heart-wrenching cries from outside. She quickly went in and fed the two babies first.

Old Man Mo breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Erni return.

After settling Sanni and Xiaoshan in, Li Rouniang let Dani and Erni play at the Mo family's house.

It's time to settle accounts with that old woman Zhao!

Mo Bei, worried that Rou Niang would be taken advantage of, quickly said, "I'll go with you."

Li Rou Niang didn't want to trouble Mo Bei, but after being persuaded by Old Man Mo, she finally agreed.

The two went to Granny Zhao's place first. Li Rou Niang went in and started smashing things without saying a word!

"You rebellious little whore, what are you trying to do?" Granny Zhao immediately became displeased.

"You old hag, how dare you sell my Erni! If you don't want to live a good life, then none of us should live one!"

I'm going to Da Zui's house right now and expose what Zhao Da Hua did—she actually heartlessly sold her own niece!

There's also the ambiguous relationship between Zhao Dahua and Wu Xiucai. Don't think I don't know. I just don't believe that Zhao Dazui's family can tolerate a daughter-in-law who cheats on her son.

"Our village can't possibly tolerate you two vicious mother and daughter!" Liu Niang was furious and blurted out everything she knew. If anyone's going to hell, then we'll all go to hell together.

"Rou Niang, no, no, no! Let's talk this over. Please don't make this a big deal. If you say that, my Da Hua will have no way to survive." Granny Zhao hurriedly stopped her, also terrified.

"You only care about whether your daughter will survive? Have you ever thought about whether my Erni will survive?" Li Rouniang glared fiercely at Granny Zhao.

This old woman is too cruel. Her own granddaughter, she made the same choice in both her past and present lives.

"Rou Niang, this really isn't Da Hua's fault. It's all Wu Yong's idea. You should go and find him." Granny Zhao immediately pushed the matter away.

"You think I'll let him go?"

Li Rouniang felt she couldn't let things slide like this. Although she couldn't really do anything to Granny Zhao right now, she also couldn't expose these things. After all, she had finally managed to get Zhao Dahua married. If Zhao Dazui really rejected her, the mother and daughter would be at home every day, and who knows what kind of trouble they might cause.

But he couldn't let Granny Zhao off so easily. He had to make her feel pain and distress, otherwise she wouldn't learn her lesson and wouldn't know fear. She would be emboldened to harm his daughter again next time.

"Then tell me what you're going to do?" Granny Zhao knew she was in the wrong, so she didn't dare to raise her voice.

"My second daughter has been frightened and needs money to see a doctor." Li Rouniang wished she could devour Granny Zhao whole, but her current strength did not allow it, so she could only endure it and settle for second best.

"Alright, alright, I'll give you the money. Is half a tael of silver enough? This is all my savings," Granny Zhao said pitifully.

"Don't try to fool me. I know Zhao Dahua's dowry was a full tael of silver. You haven't left the house these past few days, how could there be half a tael left? My dear mother-in-law, don't force me," Li Rouniang threatened.

Seeing Li Rou Niang's reckless attitude, Granny Zhao was terrified and dared not play any tricks. She obediently took out the one tael of silver.

Of course, Li Rouniang was no longer concerned about the fact that she couldn't sleep because of heartache and liver pain.

Li Rouniang snatched the silver without saying anything more, then turned and went with Mo Bei to find Scholar Wu.

Granny Zhao glared at their retreating figures, gritting her teeth in anger.

Wu Yong was taken aback when he saw Li Rouniang, but then he began to make excuses, saying that he knew nothing about the matter. Li Rouniang did not waste any words, but just gave Mo Bei a look. Mo Bei stepped forward and gave him a good beating without saying a word.

“As a scholar, you are truly a disgrace,” Li Rouniang said viciously.

"What does this have to do with me? Your child is lost, go find your child, what are you doing here? What proof do you have? I took Erni away." Although Wu Yong was beaten badly, he still gritted his teeth. He knew he couldn't admit to this, or his future would be ruined.

“Zhao Dahua said it herself, and you still want to deny it? In that case, let’s go and talk to the clan chief.” Li Rouniang said fiercely.

"No, no, no, please don't go. Let's talk privately, okay? It's not my fault, it's all Da Hua's idea. I had no choice but to cooperate with her. How about this, I don't want the money the Qian family gave me, I'll give it all to you, and that'll be the end of it, okay?" Wu Yong didn't want to ruin his reputation, so he quickly softened his stance.

Li Rouniang didn't speak, but simply stretched out her hand to signal. Wu Yong quickly took out all the silver and put it in Li Rouniang's hand.

Li Rouniang glanced coldly at Wu Yong, then turned and left. How ridiculous that this man was a scholar.

Thinking back to my past life, I was also such a despicable person, causing her daughter to die such a tragic death.

She actually wanted to kill the person in front of her, but murder was against the law and she couldn't do it.

Mo Bei followed quietly behind Li Rongyang. He suddenly felt sorry for the woman in front of him, and he really wanted to help her.

But at this moment, he didn't know what to say to comfort Li Rouniang. If that incident hadn't happened and he had met Li Rouniang, perhaps he could have helped her kill all these people. But now he couldn't afford to take any more lives; he had to keep himself hidden.

The two silently returned to the Mo family home, where Da Ni and Er Ni were playing with the new ball that Old Man Mo had made for them.

Seeing Li Rouniang return, Erni ran to Rouniang with a smile, holding the ball, and said, "Mom, look what Grandpa Mo made for us."

Li Rouniang looked down and saw Erni's innocent and lovely smiling face.

In an instant, all the gloom in my heart was dispelled by the sunlight.
