Chapter Forty-Seven: The Young Master is Lost

Zhao Erni hadn't dared to sleep, waiting for Hua Rumeng to come find her in the middle of the night. But to her utter surprise, it wasn't Hua Rumeng who came, but Zhou Niangzi. Zhou Niangzi said, "No need to wait anymore, she won't come."

With a wave of his hand, two servants stepped forward to tie Erni up again.

Erni's eyes darted around, and she quickly said pitifully, "Pretty auntie, it hurts so much to be tied up. I'll be good, I won't run away. Can you just keep me locked up here like this?"

Thinking that a five-year-old child couldn't possibly escape even if she rebelled, Madam Zhou acquiesced and said to the two, "Lock the door, keep an eye on her, and don't let her run out."

After saying that, she swayed away.

Erni tried to climb out the window, but the window was also sealed shut. She was truly helpless.

After a sleepless night, the door opened the next day and someone was thrown in. Erni looked in the light and saw that it was Qian Duobao!

She excitedly stepped forward and nudged Qian Duobao: "Duobao, Duobao, what are you doing here?"

But Qian Duobao didn't react at all. Erni thought for a moment, then picked up Qian Duobao's wrist and bit it hard.

"Ah!" Qian Duobao woke up in pain.

Opening his eyes, he saw Erni and said happily, "Erni, you're not dead! That's great!"

"Who said I was going to die? I've never died. My grandmother and the others brought me here. How did you get here? Where are your servants?"

Qian Duobao recounted how Granny Zhao had deceived him, and Erni was exasperated: "I told you not to trust her, why did you still go with her?"

Qian Duobao was also filled with regret. He looked around and asked, "Where is this? How do we get out?"

"I don't know where I am, but there's someone I know here. We made a promise that she would come to rescue me, but she's probably been discovered and locked up. Now I don't know how to get out."

Erni was both helpless and anxious. Duobao went over, hugged her shoulder, and said, "Erni, don't be afraid. My parents will definitely come looking for us after they find out I'm missing. We'll be alright."

Meanwhile, Hua Rumeng was very anxious after being locked up, but she couldn't get out. Just as dawn was breaking, someone whispered from the window, "Sister Rumeng, are you in there? Sister Rumeng?"

Hua Rumeng hurried over, but it was Baihe's voice. Baihe asked, "Sister Rumeng, why did Madam Zhou lock you up?"

“Lily? That’s wonderful. The child locked in the woodshed is the child of the nobleman I met when I bought medicine for you. I originally wanted to save her, but it seems that Madam Zhou discovered it.” Hua Rumeng said quickly.

"Oh? I heard that the two children locked in the woodshed are going to be sold to human traffickers today. They said they'd sell them today, and it's very urgent. What should we do? The people are already upstairs negotiating the deal."

"Lily, can you find a way to get me out?" Hua Rumeng asked.

The door was locked, but no one was guarding it. They thought that Madam Zhou would lock her up for a day and then release her. They didn't expect her to try to escape. So, they decided to risk everything to save the two children.

Lily thought for a moment and said, "Then wait for me."

Lily used the tools she brought to pry open the window, and Hua Rumeng jumped out.

Fortunately, Hua Rumeng was on the first floor. If it were a higher floor, she might have fallen and gotten seriously injured.

Hua Rumeng and Baihe disregarded everything else and rushed to the woodshed, where two people were indeed guarding the door.

Lily swayed over and said, "You two are busy."

Lily smiled alluringly and stepped forward to strike up a conversation.

"Go away, go away, we're busy too." One of them waved his hand impatiently.

Another person stopped them, saying, "Oh dear, how can you treat a young lady like that? You really don't know how to cherish a beautiful woman."

"Isn't that right? This brother really cares about people." Lily laughed and pounced on him, instantly captivating him.

Lily continued, "It's so boring staying here. Why don't you two brothers come with me for a drink and a chat?"

The man was already completely bewildered and nodded hastily, saying, "Okay, okay."

The other one was still hesitant, but the man continued, "There are only two little kids. Do you think they can run away? If you don't go, I'll go by myself. You stay here and keep watch."

Neither of them wanted to be a fool, so they both left with Lily.

Taking advantage of the moment, Hua Ruyu quickly ran over and pried the door open with tools.

When Erni saw Hua Ruyi, she rushed forward and said, "Aunt Hua, you've come to save us."

"Come with me quickly." Hua Rumeng didn't know Qian Duobao, but thinking that saving one or two was the same, she grabbed one of them with each hand and ran out.

"Crawl out through this dog hole, and once you're on the street, hurry home." Hua Ruyi was still a bit cunning, so she didn't lead them to the back door, but instead to a dog hole by the wall. Only Hua Rumeng and Baihe knew about this dog hole. Last time, Hua Ruyi had also crawled out through this hole to secretly buy medicine for Baihe.

The two thanked Hua Ruyi and quickly climbed out.

But soon Zhou Niangzi and the others discovered that the two children were missing!

Zhao Mazi was extremely anxious. He was Zhou Niangzi's lover, which was why he left the person here, thinking he would sell the body and give Zhou Niangzi a cut.

Madam Zhou was also anxious, and the two of them quickly led people to search separately!

Erni and Qian Duobao arrived on the street. Qian Duobao said, "This place is close to my home. Let's go home first."

Erni nodded, and the two of them ran hand in hand toward the Qian family's house!

Meanwhile, Jinzi, unable to catch up with Qian Duobao, ran home and shouted, "Master, Madam, something terrible has happened! Young Master is missing!"

Madam Qian nearly fainted, and Master Qian immediately sent people out to look for her. Qian Ruyi suppressed her urges and looked concerned.

The two little ones ran ahead, but Zhao Mazi, who was behind them, spotted them and shouted, "Stop!"

Upon hearing this, Duobao and Erni immediately ran forward as fast as they could. However, they were surrounded in no time.

Erni, you immediately shouted, "Help! Help! They're human traffickers!"

"Don't talk nonsense! You two little thieves stole my master's things! Now come back with us!" Zhao Mazi retorted, making false accusations!

This makes it difficult for onlookers to intervene.

"Erni!" Just at this critical moment, Li Rouniang ran up.

She was still soaked; it had rained heavily all night, and she had searched all night long. She reported the incident to the authorities early in the morning and continued searching!

Although she was aimless, she really couldn't convince herself to wait for news at home. Every time she closed her eyes, all she could see was the scene of Erni suffocating to death in her coffin in her previous life!

"Mother!" Erni threw herself into Li Rouniang's arms.

It really was her Erni. Li Rouniang finally broke down, tears streaming down her face, and choked out, "What are you doing here? I've been looking for you for so long!"
