Chapter 153 Wenxiu and Erya
Seeing that many people were persuaded, and even several children stood up and slowly moved towards those people.
A tall, thin girl leaning against the wall suddenly spoke up and asked, "Chen San, everyone here is still a child, including yourself. You're just going to say that the people who took us in aren't good people and then try to leave with everyone?"
"Have you thought about how you'll support everyone after you leave with them?"
"Murder and arson? Or robbery? It can't be begging on the street, can it?"
Chen San, the boy who was leading the group, turned around and frowned at the girl who had spoken. "Wen Xiu, are you trying to go against me? What's so good about staying here and being someone's dog? I advise you to come with me."
Wenxiu, the girl who had spoken, glanced coldly at Chen San. "I just asked a question that concerns our lives. If you can't support everyone, don't you think it's a bit rash to take everyone away like this?"
"Or perhaps you had ulterior motives in encouraging everyone to leave? Let me think... Are you perhaps afraid of traps or ambushes on the way out, and want everyone to pave the way for you?"
"Wenxiu! Don't make false accusations!" Chen San's face flushed red, but his eyes grew even more fierce. "I'm advising everyone to leave with me for your own good!"
"I'm starting to suspect you've been bribed! We'd all be free if we left here, so why are you stopping us? Aren't you up to no good?"
Just as the two were about to come to blows, Ah Jiu, who had overheard the whole thing outside, pushed open the door and entered.
Everyone was taken aback, and their gazes toward Ajiu were filled with a complex and indescribable feeling.
Especially those who already knew Ajiu, such as Wenxiu and Chen San.
They were sold into the assassin organization earlier than A-Jiu, and they suffered much more than A-Jiu. In fact, when A-Jiu first joined the assassin organization, the first kid leader to provoke him was Chen San.
They could all be considered members of the same batch of assassins. The fact that they've survived this long shows that Chen San and Wen Xiu are among the best of their generation.
However, compared to Ajiu, the two of them were still a step behind.
Upon seeing Ajiu enter, neither of them spoke.
Ajiu looked at Wenxiu, then at Chen San, and said, "I heard everything you said. I was thinking that I had met good people and was living a good life that I never dared to dream of. I also wanted you to live a peaceful life with me."
"However, you have your own ideas. I can't force you to listen to everything I say."
What Ajiu didn't say was that she couldn't allow any unstable elements to remain around the Grand Madam.
"So, anyone who wants to leave, you can step forward now."
Ah Jiu scanned the entire room. "I only have one piece of advice: forget the past and look forward. Otherwise, no one can save you."
As he spoke, he stood by the door and gestured for people to enter.
Chen San frowned, looking at A Jiu with suspicion, "Does your master really think we can leave so easily?"
Ajiu didn't say anything, but just gave him a look that said, "Hurry up and leave."
Chen San hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth, waved to his henchmen, and quickly left the storeroom.
"Anyone else want to leave?" A-Jiu scanned the room. "If you want to leave, this is your only chance! If you don't leave now, it won't be so easy to leave later."
Upon hearing this, the few people who had been wavering earlier clenched their fists, gritted their teeth, and quickly caught up with Chen San and his group.
The two groups together totaled eleven people, and they were all older boys.
There were exactly thirty people left. Sixteen of them were boys, all under ten years old.
Among the fourteen girls, several were over ten years old. The oldest was Wenxiu, who was thirteen this year.
"Anyone else leaving?" Ajiu asked again.
Everyone stared blankly at Ajiu; some shook their heads, but no one responded.
Seeing this, Ajiu didn't ask any more questions and greeted everyone, saying, "Since you've chosen to stay, this will be your home from now on."
"You can think about what you want to do in the future."
Someone asked in a low voice, "What can we do?"
After thinking for a moment, Ajiu said, "You can farm, raise chickens, raise ducks, or you can be like me, serving as a maid or guard for your master."
At this point, Ah Jiu suddenly remembered something and quickly added, "Oh, right, you can also learn medicine from Doctor Mu."
"Didn't Doctor Mu leave?" someone asked in a low voice.
"Dr. Mu has some things to do and is only leaving temporarily. She will be able to come and see you in a while. When that time comes, any of you who want to study medicine under Dr. Mu can talk to her. As long as Dr. Mu agrees, you can go with her."
Is this true?
“Then I want to learn medicine from Doctor Mu.”
"Me too."
"Me too."
The more lively children chattered amongst themselves.
Of course, some people have put forward different opinions.
Wenxiu walked to Ajiu's side and asked, "Sanya, can I be a guard for your master, just like you?"
Ajiu was taken aback and hesitated for a moment. "We need to ask the Grand Madam to know. I can't make that decision myself."
Wen Xiu narrowed her eyes slightly, "Grand Madam? Your mistress is an old lady?"
Ah Jiu realized she had let something slip, and her expression became somewhat uneasy.
She hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded. "Yes. My mistress is the most benevolent lady in the world. Otherwise, she wouldn't have kept so many of you to eat for free."
Wenxiu seemed relieved, with a glimmer of hope in her eyes, "Then can you take me to see her?"
"No!" Ajiu refused almost without thinking.
Wen Xiu frowned slightly.
Then Ajiu said with a very wary look, "What do you want to do by seeing the Grand Madam? I advise you not to have any bad ideas!"
Wenxiu opened her mouth, but in the end said nothing, turned around and walked back to the wall.
What could she say? Was she supposed to tell Ajiu that she wanted to take her place and become that old lady's bodyguard?
Look at her! It's only been half a year since I last saw her, and Ah Jiu has gained a lot of weight and grown taller by leaps and bounds! Even though she's three years younger than me, she's already caught up to me in height!
This is clearly a sign of a very comfortable life! She wants to experience the joys of a good life too!
However, judging from Ah Jiu's guarded appearance, it seems that things will take a long time to get things done.
Just after Wenxiu left Ajiu's side, another older girl quickly walked up to Ajiu and said to her with a serious expression, "I have something I want to tell you. Can we go somewhere outside where no one is around to talk?"
The girl spoke with a familiar tone.
Ajiu looked at the girl and found her somewhat familiar, but the hideous scar across half of her face made it impossible for Ajiu to remember who she was.
Seemingly noticing the confusion in Ajiu's eyes, the girl reminded her impatiently, "I am Erya."
"Er Ya!?" A Jiu stared in shock at the scarred girl in front of her.
This was also a friend she met when she first joined the assassin organization.
Because she said her name was Sanya, the girl named Erya took the initiative to become her older sister.
Even when she committed her first murder, it was Er Ya who held her hand and helped her overcome her psychological barrier.
However, it was precisely because of Er Ya's ruthlessness when she first witnessed her killing that A Jiu subconsciously developed a resistance towards this "older sister." Afterwards, she deliberately distanced herself from Er Ya.
However, only she knew that her ability to adapt to everything in the assassin organization so quickly was inseparable from Arya's help.
Even when she was killing people, she would intentionally or unintentionally imitate Er Ya, pretending to be cold-hearted and indifferent.
Long-forgotten memories surfaced, and A-Jiu was overwhelmed with mixed feelings.
"The injury on your face..."
In her memory, Er Ya was a strikingly beautiful girl with an oval face, almond-shaped eyes, a delicate nose, and rosy lips and white teeth, like a fairy who had stepped out of a painting. A beauty mark at the corner of her eye was the finishing touch, making her already stunning appearance even more breathtaking.
Er Ya reached out and wiped her face, a look of pain flashing in her eyes, but she quickly put it out of her mind.
Er Ya pulled A Jiu's hand and led her out the door. Once they were in a secluded spot, she whispered a reminder: "Get away from those people. Do you want me to help you silence them?"
