Chapter 11 The Second Wife's Resentment
"During the past few days that his mother has been ill, the birthmark on his left shoulder has also been aching intermittently. This shows that the bond between mother and child is not just a saying."
Faced with Min Rong's inexplicable words, everyone looked puzzled. Madam Wu was even more surprised.
Only Madam Min Qiao looked disdainful and sneered, "You don't have a birthmark on your left shoulder. When you were born, you did have a bluish birthmark on your buttocks, but it disappeared on its own before you were three years old. You don't have any birthmarks on your body now."
"Save these pointless tests. Your mother hasn't changed, and I haven't been possessed by any wandering ghosts. I'm just tired, I don't want to get involved anymore, and I don't want to pretend and make myself miserable anymore."
"So, from now on, just say what you mean directly. Don't beat around the bush or use sarcastic remarks, or I'll make you lose face. Just like what happened just now!"
"Also, don't bother me anymore, whether you have something to say or not. I won't clean up your messes anymore! And I don't need you to come and greet me! Do you all understand?"
Min Rong's face turned ashen, Wu was terrified, and the children were all completely bewildered.
Despite their differing thoughts, they all nodded and respectfully replied, "We understood."
"Have you heard me clearly? Now you'd better leave. Don't come to my Songhe Hall again without my permission."
Madam Min showed no mercy in driving them away, saying, "Go back and spread the word that if you're not from my Songhe Hall, don't come here."
"Yes," Madam Wu replied quickly.
The group bowed and took their leave with trepidation. Just as they turned around, Madam Wu seemed to remember something and quickly stopped in her tracks.
She winked at the doorway, and the old woman guarding the door understood and quickly called Feixu in.
When Feixu reached Wu's side, Wu led the people around.
“Mother, we are ill and cannot be by your side to take care of you. Why don’t we let Feixu come back to take care of you? After all, she is the one who is used to taking care of you, and you will find it easier to use her.”
As she spoke, Wu gave Feixu a wink.
Feixu immediately knelt before the bed and kowtowed three times, then sincerely repented, saying, "Madam, I was ignorant before. I know I was wrong now. Please let me come back to serve you!"
Without even glancing at Feixu, Madam Min Qiao said to Granny Fang in a cold and calm tone, "I've already said, no one who leaves Songhe Hall is allowed to come back in. Find out who let her in and kick them all out."
"Yes." Granny Fang's lips twitched, and she glanced at Fei Xu with a complicated expression.
Wu's face was dark and gloomy, and her eyes were filled with suppressed anger.
She brought the flying catkins in.
What did Min Qiaoshi mean by saying that?
Seeing Feixu kneeling on the ground, dumbfounded, Wu Shi was furious. This girl was completely ruined!
Her once devoted personal maid has now been completely rejected by Madam Min.
That's absolutely foolish!
"What are you all standing there for? You shameless wretch! Get out of here!"
Wu scolded Feixu irritably, then turned and strode out of the house.
Min Rong, who was waiting at the door, naturally saw all of this, and his eyes darkened.
He knew that Madam Wu had brought Feixu over today. Like Madam Wu, he felt that they should place someone of their own next to Madam Min. Therefore, he tacitly approved of this matter.
I just didn't expect that Madam Min's temperament has become increasingly unpredictable. She just threw away her perfectly good head maid without a second thought. How ruthless!
After seeing off the main family, Granny Fang said with a sigh, "Feixu's days are probably numbered."
Min Qiaoshi did not respond.
Granny Fang continued, "During the days you were sick and unconscious, Feixu came every day. She couldn't get into the courtyard, so she knelt at the gate. Every morning she would come and kneel there for an hour before leaving."
"The maid in the courtyard always remembered your instructions and never opened the door for her. Today, it was only because the Marquis and his wife brought her that she was allowed in."
Madam Min glanced at Granny Fang and asked in an annoyed tone, "Are you trying to say that Feixu is pitiful, or are you trying to plead for the maid who let her in?"
"Can I say that I want to?" Granny Fang smiled. "I don't know what Feixu did to offend you, but she's only a fifteen-year-old girl. Please forgive her, she's too young to hold a grudge."
Madam Min Qiao looked at Granny Fang with a stern expression. "If I told you that in my dream, Fei Xu hated me to the core because I stopped her from marrying Wu Cheng, and for over a decade she poisoned me, causing me unbearable suffering, would you still ask me to forgive her?"
Granny Fang was taken aback, then smiled helplessly, and after a long while, she retorted with a sigh, "You said it was a dream."
"So, I didn't do anything to her, did I?"
Madam Min Qiao chuckled meaningfully, "She wanted to marry Wu Cheng, and I agreed, didn't I? She wanted to leave Songhetang, and I didn't stop her. Now that she's begging to come back, am I obligated to take her in?"
"What the Grand Madam says is true. I misunderstood." Granny Fang slapped herself twice. "That girl chose her own path. Whether it's good or bad, she should bear the consequences herself."
"Leaving aside the matter of the flying catkins, there's no need to chase the gatekeeper away, is there?"
Granny Fang changed the subject, saying, "You've been sick these past few days, and the matter of selling servants has been delayed. The people at Songhe Hall are all doing the work of two people, and they've had a hard time. Let's just forget about this little thing. Besides, without the Marquis and his wife around, that little maid would never dare to let Feixu in."
“I’ve already said what I wanted to say, there’s no reason for me to take it back.” Madam Min Qiao flatly rejected Granny Fang’s plea.
Seeing that Granny Fang was about to speak again, Madam Min raised her hand to stop her, "What you said is true, and that little girl's situation is indeed understandable. But what my Songhe Hall needs are people who only listen to me and are loyal to me."
"So what if you're a Marquis? So what if you're a Marquis's wife? Once you enter the gates of my Songhe Hall, you have to abide by the rules of my Songhe Hall."
“Since she is afraid of Min Rong and his wife and dares not stop them, it is not appropriate for her to stay in Songhe Hall any longer.”
Seeing that Madam Min was adamant, Granny Fang sighed helplessly and did not try to persuade her any further.
Min Qiaoshi changed her tone and continued, "Since you said that everyone has worked hard while I was sick, then I'll give them a monthly allowance later."
"yes."
Madam Min Qiao continued, "Also, take care of the hiring these next couple of days. Have Yang An go to the government office and have them pick out a few clever ones."
"Yes. I'll go talk to Yang An in a bit."
As the master and servant were talking, a little maid came to announce that Second Master Min Yao had arrived with his second wife's family and Aunt Lin.
This is the third wave of visitors to see Madam Min since she woke up.
This time, Madam Min didn't even see the person; she simply sent Granny Fang to send them away.
As for the reason, it's simply that I'm too lazy to deal with it.
The current main idea of Min Qiao's family is to do whatever they want.

"This is outrageous! Absolutely outrageous!"
The group of people from the second branch who left Songhetang all looked grim.
The second wife, Madam Yang, was so angry that her eyes were practically bursting with rage, and she kept muttering, "This is outrageous!"
"Shut up!" Second Master Min Yao's expression wasn't much better, but he couldn't help but shout at Yang Shi when she expressed her resentment.
"Shut up? Why should I shut up?" Madam Yang retorted. "The third son went in, and the eldest son's family went in too, but we, the second branch of the family, were stopped outside the courtyard and not allowed to enter. What does she mean by that?"
"Since she despises our family so much, why did she pretend to keep our family together and not let us separate when my father-in-law passed away?"
Just as Madam Yang was rambling on and on, Aunt Lin, who was being supported by Min Yao, suddenly stopped, turned around and glanced at Madam Yang.
That glance was cold and sharp, filled with a strong warning.
With just one glance, Yang was as if someone had grabbed her by the neck, and she could no longer make a sound.
PS: The three brothers of the Marquis's family: Min Rong (née Wu), Min Yao (née Yang), and Min Hui (unmarried).
