Chapter 305 Min Hui's Death
"What do I want to do? Hahaha, what do I want to do?"
Min Hui laughed loudly, then after a long while, he looked at Min Qiao with deep eyes and said, "I want you to write a confession!"
"Just like my mother back then, she had no choice but to obediently write the handwritten letters I wanted you to write!"
Madam Min Qiao glanced at Min Hui with disdain, "You?"
Min Hui clapped his hands, and the group of people who had been guarding outside rushed in, surrounding Min Qiaoshi and A Shuang and the others completely.
Madam Min frowned slightly. With so many people, it was impossible for Wenxiu alone to take her, A Shuang, and the other two maids out safely.
Min Hui glanced at the four maids beside Madam Min Qiao and chuckled, "I know that the Grand Madam has capable people around her, but I advise her not to act rashly. Otherwise, it would be bad if she were to get hurt."
After weighing the pros and cons, Madam Min Qiao placed her hands on the armrests of her chair and said calmly, "I'm curious, what do you want me to write?"
Seeing Min Qiao Shi back down, Min Hui's lips curled up wildly. The anger that had been suppressed in his heart for twenty years was finally released at this moment.
"So, it turns out that the Grand Madam isn't so uncompromising after all?"
Wang Zhangshi chimed in smugly, "Heh, Min Qiaoshi, so you've finally met your match? Where did your arrogance go? Bah! Turns out you're just a spineless coward who bullies the weak and fears the strong!"
"You!" A Shuang was furious and wanted to step forward to argue, but Wen Xiu grabbed her arm.
She looked at Hua Conglin, who was standing behind Min Hui, with a serious expression.
From the very beginning, she could tell that this person was a master, and she was definitely no match for him!
Min Hui didn't even glance at A Shuang, but coldly ordered someone to bring over writing brush, ink, paper and inkstone, and place them in front of Min Qiao Shi.
"Madam, please begin writing. I will tell you what to write."
Madam Min glanced at the paper and pen in front of her, but didn't move. She looked calmly at Min Hui and said, "You still haven't told me what you want me to write."
Min Hui pondered for a moment and said, "Just write that you murdered my mother and stole the marquis's title that rightfully belonged to me. Now that I have exposed the truth, you are willing to return the title to me and atone with your death."
"Third Master!" Hua Conglin's expression hardened. He leaned close to Min Hui's ear and whispered a reminder: "This is not what we agreed upon."
Min Hui shoved Hua Conglin aside. "What's the difference? Isn't your goal to kill Min Qiao Shi?"
"Wouldn't it be faster and more convenient if I just had her write a will?"
"Third Master, you must not!" Hua Conglin advised again, "The master instructed that all we need to do is have Madam Min write a letter of appeal, confessing her crimes of slandering and plotting against Madam Wang."
Min Qiao watched the two bicker with a smile on her lips, and subtly gave Wen Xiu a wink.
Wen Xiu understood and, taking advantage of the moment when the two were distracted, tried to quietly slip away from the crowd to go back and get reinforcements.
To everyone's surprise, when Wenxiu tried to back away, the people surrounding her shouted sternly, "Don't move!"
Seeing that quietly retreating was not an option, Wenxiu no longer hesitated, kicked a servant, and prepared to force her way out.
Just then, Hua Conglin, who had been arguing with Min Hui, strode over in a few steps, swiftly made a move, and easily captured Wen Xiu.
With two sharp cracking sounds, Hua Conglin dislocated Wen Xiu's arm and leg.
Wen Xiu was thrown back to Min Qiao's feet by Hua Conglin like a rag doll.
"Wenxiu!!" A Shuang rushed to Wenxiu's side and gently supported her. "Are you...are you alright?"
Seeing the beads of sweat on Wenxiu's forehead caused by pain, A Shuang couldn't help but tear up.
Seeing Wenxiu's pained expression as she tried her best to endure it, Min Qiao's anger surged.
"Hua Conglin, is that right? I'll remember you!"
"I wouldn't dare trouble you, Madam." Hua Conglin respectfully clasped his hands in a bow and said politely, "Please write a letter according to my instructions. Otherwise..."
Hua Conglin looked at A Shuang and the others, "Although I dare not do anything to the Grand Madam, I have no scruples about these little maids around her."
Two errand girls huddled behind Madam Min, trembling with fear.
Squatting on the ground, supporting Wenxiu, A-Shuang remained calm. "Madam, don't be threatened by them! We are not afraid to die!"
“Madam, don’t worry about us!” Wenxiu said firmly. “I would die without regrets to have met such a good mistress as Madam.”
Although the two little girls were scared, they still tremblingly echoed, "Yes, we, we are not afraid of death."
Moved, Madam Min raised her hand to stop the others, picked up the paper in front of her, dipped it in ink, and turned to look at Hua Conglin, "It's not that I can't write a confession, but before I do, there are some things I want to clarify."
Hua Conglin nodded. "Please ask, Madam."
"Who is this 'adult' you're talking about? Why did you only make me write a confession instead of, as Min Hui said, making me write a will and then killing me? What exactly are you plotting?"
Min Qiao asked the question that had been on her mind.
Hua Conglin paused for a moment, then shook his head. "I'm sorry, I have no comment. All you need to know is that we tricked you into coming here today with no intention of harming you."
"Understood." Madam Min smiled, tossed the pen onto the table, leaned back in her chair, and closed her eyes to rest.
Hua Conglin frowned slightly. "What does the Grand Madam mean by this?"
Without even lifting an eyelid, Madam Min Qiao said with a half-smile, "Since you don't want my life, why should I be threatened by you?"
"Let's just wait and see when the people from the Marquis of Xuanping's residence come looking for us."
Hua Conglin's eyes flashed with a fierce light, but he forcibly suppressed it. Just as his master had predicted, Madam Min Qiao was not one to obediently follow orders.
Judging by the time, they'll probably be here soon.
It seems we have no choice but to take the second option.
Just as Hua Conglin was pondering this, Min Hui stepped forward again and stomped on Wen Xiu's broken left leg.
"Hmm..." Wenxiu groaned as she was stepped on, but she still endured it bitterly.
"Madam, will you write it or not?" Min Hui pressed down hard on Wen Xiu's leg while glaring fiercely at Min Qiao Shi.
Just then, a sound of fighting came from outside, growing louder as it approached.
It's obvious that someone broke in.
A flicker of panic crossed Min Hui's eyes. He turned to look at Hua Conglin, wanting him to go out and keep order.
In the blink of an eye, just as Min Hui turned around, a sharp dagger was plunged deep into his chest.
"Why...why..."
Hua Conglin pulled out his dagger, threw it on the ground, turned around, and disappeared through the window in a flash.
Blood gushed out, and Min Hui collapsed weakly to the ground.
