Chapter 30 The Nightmare Begins Again

He spoke slowly and deliberately, but it was impossible to tell whether it was a statement or a question.

You Shuyao pondered for a moment, then cursed under her breath. It was her own fault! The other person hadn't said a word, but she had rambled on and on, only making things worse and revealing that she ultimately wanted to escape, allowing him to seize on that key point.

But you must continue to feign ignorance. "I didn't want to run away, so why would I? Because I don't think I did anything wrong at all." This is called refusing to admit anything, and if you're going to pretend, you have to pretend to the end.

Qi gave her a deep look, then turned back to face her and started walking downstairs again.

"Don't worry about danger. If there is, I'll protect you!"

You Shuyao wished she could kick him off the building. This stubborn guy was impossible to reason with! Could he possibly protect her forever? Besides, if the organization discovered that she intended to leave, how could he protect her then? It would be good enough if he didn't come to deal with her together.

They are all killing machines trained by the organization, only allowed to obey orders and not to disobey. As for a tool who betrays the organization, the organization will only eliminate them, not show any mercy and let them go.

You Shuyao pondered, realizing that relying on oneself is always better than relying on others. Since he stubbornly refused to release her pressure points, she would have no choice but to try breaking through them herself. Though difficult, it wasn't impossible. When the time came, she would definitely find a chance to leave these scumbags forever.

Unfortunately... she had a grand plan, but she didn't know that before the day her acupoints were broken, she would face a fatal crisis.

Not far from the county town after boarding the carriage, they unfortunately encountered a group of bandits. You Shuyao couldn't help but sigh... Ugh! What kind of day is this? Why do all the "good things" happen at once?

There were quite a few robbers. Amidst the flashing blades, Qi did keep his promise, protecting her at all times and also busy kicking away bandits trying to break into the carriage. However, due to the sheer number of enemies, there were bound to be moments of weakness. Suddenly... the carriage was smashed open with a knife, and he immediately leaped out of the wreckage with her in his arms.

There were at least twenty or thirty of them. In order to fight these bandits, the assassins disguised as servants had to use their real skills. One by one, they drew the weapons they had hidden on their bodies. But at this critical moment, a sharp whistle made the bandits suddenly stop and retreat. At the same time, they surrounded the carriage, leaving it with no place to escape.

They ripped off the black cloth covering their faces, took off their dark gray coarse cloth bandit clothes, and revealed the dark blue flying fish robes they wore underneath.

Holy crap! It's the Embroidered Uniform Guard!

You Shuyao trembled violently, her eyes and mouth widening in shock. These bandits were actually Imperial Guards in disguise, deliberately lying in ambush, waiting for them to walk right into their trap!

She turned to look at Qi and saw his tense face and gloomy expression. She thought to herself that something was wrong. It seemed that this matter had exceeded his expectations and that he had not prepared any way out.

From among the Imperial Guards, a tall horse galloped out. This man was none other than their leader, Huo Jingsha, who coldly stared at a group of people near the carriage.

That's it, just what I feared most has come true, he really did launch a surprise attack.

Was her tragic past life about to repeat itself? You Shuyao's current mood was beyond mere anxiety. Looking at Huo Jingsha standing not far away, like a demon from hell, she involuntarily shrank back out of fear. But this tiny movement was caught by Huo Jingsha's sharp eyes, causing her to freeze abruptly.

Although the two were dozens of meters apart, his gaze remained fixed on her. His sharp, beast-like eyes seemed to see through the disguise on her face; even disguise could not hide his all-seeing eyes.

He leaped off his horse, soaring through the air like a roc hunting its prey, swooping down on them with astonishing speed. Qi no longer concealed himself, meeting him head-on. Instantly, a murderous aura filled the air as both sides unleashed their full power.

The two men clashed palms in mid-air, their internal strength evenly matched. The two forces collided rapidly, forming a powerful energy net that expanded outwards for dozens of meters.

Because her internal energy was sealed, You Shuyao couldn't withstand the shock and stumbled back several steps before falling to the ground. She immediately felt an unbearable burning pain in her chest, and her blood surged upwards, almost causing her to spit out a mouthful of blood.

Barely suppressing the feeling, she looked up and saw the two leading men locked in a fierce battle, exchanging punches and palm strikes with ruthless ferocity. Their attacks flew through the air, and for a time, neither side could gain the upper hand. Meanwhile, the two sides also clashed simultaneously, with flashes of swords and spears appearing in the darkness, and the sounds of horses and soldiers filling the air. In an instant, several men had fallen, their blood staining the ground, creating a scene resembling a living, breathing battlefield of carnage.

Good heavens... If we don't leave now, when will we ever get another chance!

Shu Yao made a quick decision, got up, turned around and ran. Luckily, there was a horse not far behind her. She took advantage of the chaos and ran over quickly. Without thinking twice, she jumped onto the horse's back, pulled on the reins, and kicked the horse's belly hard with her heel. The horse immediately reared up and shot off like an arrow.

Go ahead and fight! Fight all you want! Every one that dies is one less! Shu Yao wished those two men could fight forever and never have time to care about her, so she would have a chance to escape even further.

She spurred her horse forward with all her might, but less than a quarter of an hour later, she heard the sound of hooves approaching from behind. When she turned around, she saw two Imperial Guards closely following behind her.

She pressed her lips tightly together, not daring to be distracted, and turned back to crack the whip even harder, hoping that the horse would keep going faster and faster.

But then a whistle suddenly sounded from behind, and her horse seemed to understand the command, abruptly stopping. This sudden change caught Shu Yao off guard, and her body flew forward due to inertia. Just as she was about to fall heavily to the ground, a sudden tightening around her waist pulled her down, and her body only swayed slightly upon contact with the ground, preventing her from falling hard.

You Shuyao looked down and saw that she had a long whip wrapped around her waist. Looking up, she saw that the other end was firmly held in the hand of the leading Imperial Guard.

Only then did she realize that this person was Yue Ping, Huo Jingsha's confidant.

Shu Yao's gaze wandered slightly as she sat on the ground, watching Yue Ping dismount and stride towards her. He then stood in front of her, looking down at her with an expressionless face.

"Get up," he commanded coldly.

You Shuyao's eyes dimmed. In her current state, she knew that she couldn't handle Yue Ping, let alone the two Imperial Guards. She knew that any struggle would be in vain.

She had no choice but to stand up reluctantly, without resisting or trying to escape again, and obediently let them take her back. From beginning to end, she kept her head down, her face ashen.
