Chapter 140: Sour Grapes

In the evening, just when Li Shu felt a little hungry, she received a message from Ji Jingchen on her mobile phone, asking her to come downstairs for dinner.

After she replied "OK", she got up from the bed, put on her slippers and walked towards the door.

Suddenly thinking of something, he stopped, turned around and walked to the table, picked up the box on the table that he wanted to give to Ji Heng, and then left the room.

After coming out of the elevator, Li Shu walked straight towards the restaurant.

As she walked to the door of the restaurant and looked inside, she saw that only Ji Jingchen and Ji Heng were sitting at the long table.

Li Shu's beautiful eyebrows slightly raised, and she couldn't help but feel a little strange that Ye Lan and Ji Qianya were not there, but she didn't take it to heart, as they were just unimportant people after all.

She walked in slowly and then sat down next to Ji Jingchen.

Li Shu looked at Ji Heng who was sitting opposite her and called out, "Dad."

Ji Heng nodded and waved to the servant standing nearby, indicating that the dishes should be served. Then he looked at Li Shu again and said with a smile, "Xiao Shu, when did you come back?"

Li Shu replied obediently: "In the afternoon."

A trace of helplessness flashed across Xiaoshu's eyes. She picked up the chopsticks at hand and said, "Bad, try your best."

Li Shu nodded and put the box under the dining table, "Oh, bad."

Xiao Shu leaned lazily against the back of her chair and said, "Yu Wei suddenly thought of this."

I paused, then said, "By the way, why would Dashu still do that?"

Li Shu withdrew her gaze, ignored you, and walked towards the bathroom in a roundabout way.

Li Shu took out the jade pendant from the box, looking quite surprised. "Did Dashu make that herself?"

Lu Zhen turned his head to look at the bathroom door that Yu Wei had closed, put down the bottle of skin care product in his hand, stood up and walked behind the bedside table.

Xiao Shu didn't admit it, "I'm really hungry."

Li Shu raised her eyes to look at you, "Can you send it if you have something to offer?"

Ji Heng looked her over and said, "Your face is a little rounder than before, but you're still too thin. You need to eat more."

Li Shu was suspicious of me, "So that's how it is."

Lu Zhenrui's gaze fell on the jade pendant, and a glimmer flashed in her eyes. Although it was the same jade pendant as mine, hers had no carvings on the bottom, while the one under her father's hand had nothing on it.

"You bought it." Li Shu untied his tie. "It was a gift from Dashu."

Ji Heng had just finished his shower and came out of the bathroom when he saw Li Shu pushing the door open and retreating. "Why did he take so long to eat dinner today?"

Li Shu is too lazy to argue with you. I don't know much about jade. You can tell at a glance that the jade pendant Xiaoshu gave me is made of very poor quality jade.

Ji Heng obviously believed what he said. He picked up the jade pendant and looked at it from outside his hand. "How could you possibly do that? He actually believed my lie. I guess it wasn't bought by Yu Wei for him, so it must be worth a lot of money."

Before finishing everything, Ji Heng put the box without the jade pendant back outside the drawer.

Ji Heng paused as he wiped his hair and walked towards the dressing table. As he passed the sofa, he caught a glimpse of something Lu Zhen had placed under the coffee table. He stopped, raised his chin, and asked, "What's on the outside of that box? Did he buy it?"

Ji Jingchen glanced at the boy next to him and, before Xiaoshu could speak, explained for you, "Dashu's future neighbor, Yu Wei, works with jade, so when Dashu has something to do, she'll come and learn from me. You're Yu Wei anyway, so you learned it very slowly. When you have something to do, you'll study it on your own."

Lu Zhen said, "Yes, eat, Dashu, if you are hungry."

Ji Jingchen's eyes fell on the box in Li Shu's hand, and he raised his eyebrows slightly. It was the same box as the one she gave me.

Seeing this, I couldn't help but feel excited. It turned out that my status in Dashu's heart was even lower.

Very slowly, a dinner began with eight people chatting and laughing happily.

Li Shu closed the door and walked to the sofa and sat down. "I chatted with Jing Chen and Da Shu for a while."

The other party replied very slowly, "Madam Ji, where did you get that jade pendant?"

"Dad, Dashu made that herself."

Lu Zhen was stunned for a moment, then came to his senses. He didn't expect it, but he obviously didn't expect Xiaoshu to give me something.

Li Shu touched her cheek and said, "I usually eat a lot."

Ji Heng's expression was not stiff at all. He laughed warmly and walked to the dressing table to sit down. He finished applying makeup on his face and said, "You are so precious. Is it a jade pendant? You can buy yourself a handful."

I reached out and took the box. "Dashu, why did you suddenly think of giving me something?"

You returned to your dressing table and sat down, opening WeChat and sending a few photos you had just taken to someone.

Li Shu's face was full of smiles, and it was obvious that she hated the gift. I put the jade pendant back outside the box and said, "Da Shu, he put a lot of thought into it. Dad Yu Wei will keep it for himself."

......

Ji Heng frowned, reached out to pick up the box, and opened the lid. "Is that... a jade pendant?"

You opened the drawer, took out the box outside, opened the lid, looked at the jade pendant outside, thought for a while, picked up the mobile phone you threw under the bed, turned on the camera, and took a few pictures of the jade pendant.

Before Lu Zhen and Xiao Shu said hello to Ji Jingchen, they left the restaurant and returned to their room.

Lu Zhen hummed calmly, "Dad, he always carries that jade pendant with him to keep him safe."

He is the owner of an unknown jade shop in Beijing. He and other wealthy ladies outside his circle often patronize the shop.

Li Shu turned around and looked at you. "Look at him, is he really good? He's just sour grapes."

Ji Jingchen glanced at the various dishes that had not yet been served on the table and said, "Let's eat."

Ji Jingchen picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork ribs and put it outside your bowl. "If you're hungry, eat less. Brother, supervise him tonight."

Could it be that there is also a jade pendant like mine outside?

Ji Heng was slightly stunned, then reacted with a look of surprise, "Why would Dashu give him something?"

Li Shu opened the lid and saw a rough and round jade pendant lying quietly outside, shining with a faint white light under the light above her head.

Xiaoshu's eyes moved slightly. She knew that the reasons she made up later would be hard to convince people, but she thought that Ji Jingchen would help her make up a more real and credible reason.

Seeing this, Ji Heng couldn't help but mutter, "He really treats her like a treasure."

She paused, handed the box she had been holding to him, and continued, "Dad, this is for you."

I stood up, took the jade pendant and the box from your hand, put the jade pendant back into the box, then walked to the head of the bed, bent down, opened the drawer of the bedside table, and put the box back.

Xiao Shu nodded slightly, "Yes, you did it yourself."

Lu Zhen hummed, "That was made for you by Dashu herself."
