Chapter 348: Master and Disciple Meet

Wenxuan was so shocked when he saw the golden lightning that ignored everything and struck Jingchen, his jaw dropped.

He slowly walked forward, his eyes falling on Jingchen, who was dying on the ground, "Sister Li... did we defeat him? His wounds don't seem to be healing automatically..."

"It should be." Li Shu's eyes flashed, and she flashed in front of Jing Chen, raised her hand and slapped him on the crown of his head.

Jingchen widened his eyes, his face was ferocious, and his brows were full of disbelief. He didn't expect that he would be defeated like this. As soon as he uttered the word "no", his head tilted and he stopped breathing immediately.

Just in case, Li Shu took out a talisman from her pocket and threw it on him. Jingchen's body instantly caught fire without any fire.

In the blink of an eye, it burned to ashes.

When the wind blows away, nothing is left.

Li Shu turned around and walked to Wenxuan and stopped. "What's the matter with the Thunder Talisman you gave me?"

Wenxuan came back to his senses, still looking a little dazed, as if he had not expected that he would be the only one left in the entire Baiyun Temple in just one night.

"I was secretly watching you guys at the time. Knowing that the Heavenly Thunder Talisman was useful, I wondered if I could draw one myself. However, I couldn't remember how to draw the bottom part when I was halfway through."

"I bowed to the golden statue of your master, Sister Li. Then, when I started to paint again, I felt as if my hand was being grabbed by someone, and I started to paint uncontrollably."

"Then, I heard someone whispering in my ear, asking me to help you. I knew it must be your master, Sister Li, who appeared..."

"Like this." Li Shu's eyes moved slightly, knowing that Master Xuanqing could not directly interfere in the affairs of the mortal world, and could only help her in this way.

Wenxuan pursed his lips, his eyes filled with grief, "Sister Li, I'm going to find my senior brother's... body, and then go back to the Taoist temple to find Master's..."

Li Shu hummed, "I'll go with you, but you have to be mentally prepared. Jingchen might not even leave them a complete corpse."

Wenxuan clenched his hands at his sides into fists, "Okay."

Soon, the two arrived at the place where Qinghe had the accident.

Just as Li Shu had guessed, there was no Qinghe's body here, only a light black ash on the ground.

Wenxuan fell to his knees on the ground with a thud, his face already wet with tears.

He bit his lip, took out a talisman from his pocket, stretched out his hand, and with trembling fingers, swept the remaining black ash on the ground onto the talisman, then folded the talisman and placed it on his chest.

Wenxuan wiped his tears, stood up from the ground, and said to Li Shu with a choked voice: "Sister Li, let's go to Baiyun Temple."

Li Shu hummed, raised her hand and patted Wen Xuan on the shoulder, "My condolences."

Wenxuan nodded, "Sister Li, I know."

Li Shu withdrew her hand and rushed towards Baiyun Temple with him.

The two came to Baiyun Temple, but there was no corpse of Xukong either. There was not even any ashes left on the ground. It must be because too much time had passed and the corpse was blown away by the wind.

Li Shu looked at Wen Xuan, who was standing there in a daze. A trace of pity flashed in her eyes, and she slowly said, "Wen Xuan, after you take care of Taoist Xukong and the others' funeral, come to my Qingfeng Temple."

Wenxuan recovered, turned around and looked at her, shook his head, "Thank you, Sister Li, but I want to guard Master's Baiyun Temple."

Li Shu didn't force him, "Okay."

"Sister Li, you don't have to accompany me anymore, go back quickly." Wenxuan said again, "You are injured too."

Li Shu could feel the changes in Wenxuan. The once innocent boy grew up overnight and understood the burden on his shoulders.

But the price of growing up is too high.

Li Shu sighed inwardly, "Okay, I'll come again tomorrow."

"Sister Li, I'll take you out." Wenxuan said.

"No need, you should also... go to bed early." Li Shu said, "Contact me anytime if you need anything."

Wenxuan responded, "Sister Li, I can do it on my own, don't worry about me."

Li Shu nodded slightly, said hello to him and left Baiyun Temple.

Here, Li Shu returned to her Qingfeng Temple.

She walked into the Qingfeng Hall and looked up at the golden statue of Xuanqing Zhenren. "Master, thank you."

As soon as he finished speaking, the scene in front of him suddenly changed and turned into a void space.

Li Shu looked at the old man standing in the center wearing a white immortal robe, and recognized who he was just by looking at his back.

She walked to the old man and stopped, calling out, "Master."

Xuan Qing Zhenren turned around, still looking the same as before, looking at her with a friendly expression, his eyes filled with relief and joy. He stroked his beard and said with a smile, "Little Li Li, you have grown up. Not only do you have your own friends, family, lover, and disciples, you have also established a new Qingfeng Temple. You are no longer alone. Your teacher is very happy and proud of you."

Li Shu's eyes flickered slightly, and she looked at him seriously, "Master, I have never been alone, whether I was with you before or now."

"But Master can't always be with you. You are obviously more cheerful and lively now than before." said Master Xuanqing.

Li Shu raised her eyebrows slightly, "Is there?"

"Of course there is. Master has been silently paying attention to you." Master Xuanqing said again.

"Then Master, why haven't you appeared for so long since you went to heaven?" Li Shu asked.

"Alas, heaven has its own rules, and we can't just come down to earth casually."

"Well, Master, are you doing well in heaven?"

"Of course it's not good without you, Xiao Lili. I miss the meals you cook very much."

Li Shu tilted her head, her dark eyes pure as she asked earnestly, "Then why did you abandon me, saying nothing, and go up to heaven alone?"

"Xiao Li Li, matters like going to heaven are not something I, your master, can control. When the time is right and the merits are fulfilled, you will naturally ascend to heaven." Master Xuan Qing explained.

"Okay." Li Shu replied.

Xuan Qing Zhenren looked at her gently, "Xiao Li Li, the responsibility of Qingfeng Temple will be handed over to you from now on."

Li Shu hummed softly, "I know, just don't worry."

Master Xuanqing raised his hand and gently touched her head.

Li Shu instantly felt that all the internal injuries she had sustained in the battle with Jing Chen had healed, and her body felt indescribably relaxed and comfortable.

Xuan Qing Zhenren put down his hand and said, "Alright, Xiao Lili, Master is leaving."

As soon as he finished speaking, his figure disappeared from sight.

The space where Li Shu was located also dissipated and turned into the original Qingfeng Palace. It seemed that what had just happened was just a dream.

Li Shu looked at the golden statue of Xuan Qing Zhenren and sighed softly, with a trace of helplessness in her eyes. "Master, you are like this again, leaving without saying anything. I still have a lot to say to you."

She stood there watching silently for a while, then yawned and turned to leave Qingfeng Hall.
