"Li Shu!" Ye Lan's face darkened instantly and he slammed the table in anger.
Li Shu tutted softly and glanced at her casually, "No need to shout so loudly, I'm not deaf, I can hear you."
Ji Heng looked surprised, put down his chopsticks with a click, and said in a deep voice: "Is this how you talk to your mother?"
Li Shu tilted her head, a hint of a smile on her lips, "Does she treat me as her daughter?"
Ji Heng was slightly stunned, glanced at Ye Lan who was looking grim, and asked, "What do you mean by that?"
"Literally." Li Shu crumpled the napkin in her hand and casually threw it on the table. She slowly stood up and glanced at the people at the table. Her clear and cold voice contained no trace of impurities, "I'm full. Enjoy your meal."
After saying that, he left the restaurant without looking back.
Not until Li Shu's back disappeared from his sight did Ji Jingchen slowly retract his gaze, looked at Ye Lan, and asked, "Mom, what did you do to Li Shu?"
Ye Lan's expression was a little stiff, and she said in a muffled voice, "What can I do to her? She's disrespectful and has no sense of propriety. Can't I say a word to her?"
Ji Jingchen's eyes moved slightly, and he leaned back in his chair without responding.
He didn't dislike Li Shu, but after a short period of contact, he found that his own sister had a bad temper.
She started to act like a spoiled brat right after she came back. She's definitely far worse than Qianya.
Ji Qianya was so happy at this time, she thought Li Shu was quite capable, but she didn't expect that she was digging her own grave.
She bit her lip, tears flickering in her eyes. "Dad, brother, blame me if you want to. If I hadn't been here, my sister wouldn't have had conflicts with mom. I think I should move out."
"My sister must be angry that I took her name, so she refuses to change it. It's okay, I can give her the name back as long as she stops being angry with mom."
Ye Lan couldn't sit still when she heard this. She quickly stood up and walked to sit next to Ji Qianya, holding her in her arms. "Silly child, you are talking nonsense again. Mom said there is only one Qianya, and that is you."
Ji Heng pressed his eyebrows together. It was really annoying to see a good meal turned out like this. He glanced at the mother and daughter hugging each other and said, "If Li Shu doesn't want to change her name, let her do it."
He paused, then said, "Please arrange for an etiquette teacher to train her well tomorrow, so that she won't lose face for our Ji family by taking her out to banquets or something like that."
Ye Lan nodded, "Yeah."
Ji Qianya raised her head from Ye Lan's arms and said softly, "Dad, I will help my sister too."
Ji Heng's brows relaxed, a hint of relief flashed in his eyes, "Our Yaya is still sensible."
Ji Qianya glanced at the direction where Li Shu had just left from the corner of her eye, her eyes flashed slightly, and the corners of her lips curled up imperceptibly.
Li Shu, just keep doing this.
…
On this side, after leaving the restaurant, Li Shu went straight to Butler Ji and asked him to take her to the attic on the top floor.
"Second Miss, I have asked someone to clean up the attic for you. It's a little small, are you sure you want to live here?" Butler Ji opened the door.
Li Shu took a look around and found it was much bigger than she had imagined. "It's okay, it's fine. This is it."
Butler Ji nodded and said, "I'll have someone pack up the clothes and other things that were prepared for you in that room and bring them to you later."
Li Shu hummed, her eyes cold and beautiful, "Okay, thank you for the trouble."
"Okay, call me when you have any problems." Butler Ji said and left.
Li Shu closed the door and walked towards the floor-to-ceiling window.
In the middle of the window is a small glass door that connects to the terrace outside.
Just as I touched the doorknob and wanted to go to the terrace outside, I heard two knocks on the door not far behind me.
The next second, Ji Qianya's voice came from outside the door, "Sister, are you in the room?"
Li Shu raised her eyebrows, a little surprised that Ji Qianya would come here suddenly, but it was definitely not a good thing.
I walked over and opened the door, glancing at the tray in her hand. On it was a delicate little strawberry cake.
Li Shu folded her arms, leaned lazily against the door frame, and said calmly, "What's the matter?"
"I saw that my sister didn't eat much for dinner. She must not be full." Ji Qianya handed the tray forward. "This is the strawberry cake that my eldest brother bought for me. I thought my sister might not have eaten it before, so I cut a piece and brought it up for you to try."
"No need." Li Shu stood up straight and pretended to close the door.
"Wait." Ji Qianya's eyes flashed with a gleam. Looking at the door that was about to close, she immediately stretched out her left hand, "Ah!"
Feeling the pain, he took two steps back, and his other hand, which was holding the tray, lost its grip. With a clang, the tray fell, and the small plate containing the cake shattered to the ground.
Li Shu let out a light click of her tongue when she saw this. She had no mood to pay attention to her little trick and simply slammed the door shut.
Ji Qianya was stunned for a moment, and the tears that were about to brew were instantly suppressed.
I never expected Li Shu to not follow the routine, it was quite embarrassing.
"Qianya." A familiar voice suddenly came from behind.
Upon hearing this, Ji Qianya turned around and looked behind her, her eyelashes slightly lowered, her voice filled with a bit of grievance, "Brother, why are you here?"
Ji Jingchen naturally noticed the mess immediately. He walked up to her and stopped. Looking at her hands behind her back, he frowned and asked, "What are you doing with your hands behind your back?"
Ji Qianya's eyes flickered slightly, and she looked evasive, "Brother, it's nothing."
Ji Jingchen stared at her and said in a deep voice, "Take it out and let me see it."
Ji Qianya raised her head, her eyes flushed slightly red, her brows showing hesitation and confusion that she couldn't hide. She stammered, "Brother, it's really, really nothing."
Ji Jing lost his patience and reached out to pull her hand out from behind her back. Looking at her red left hand, he asked, "What's going on?"
Ji Qianya bit her lip and said, "I just got caught in the door by accident."
She paused for a moment and then said, "Brother, it has nothing to do with my sister. I accidentally caught it."
Ji Jingchen let go of her left hand, glanced at the cake on the ground, and quickly figured out what had happened.
He took two steps forward and knocked on the door in front of him.
After waiting for a minute, Li Shu still didn't open the door and come out.
Ji Qianya uttered a sound of surprise and said with some confusion: "My sister just went back to her room, how come no one is here?"
Ji Jingchen's expression turned a little ugly. "Li Shu, I'll count to three. If you don't open the door, I'll come right in."
"one!"
"two!"
"three!"
After the words were spoken, there was still no sound coming from inside.
Ji Jingchen frowned, reached out for the door handle and turned it down.
