At the bend in the alley, Old Lady Zhao watched this scene with a sinister look, a smug smile playing on her lips.
She wanted to avenge her grandson. Since Tian Jinhua was already insane, she might as well let her do a few more crazy things.
A bag of dried bamboo shoots did not stop the arrival of the cleaver.
The women had already scattered like startled birds when Su Xiao shouted.
Surrounded in the middle, Huang Feiyan had no way to escape, after all, the cleavers were aimed at her.
Just as the broadsword was about to reach her, a large hand appeared from behind and grabbed the blade, freezing the chipped sword in place, unable to move. Feeling her arm being grabbed and her body being pulled backward, she staggered, barely managing to regain her footing, when a tall man's back blocked her way.
In the blink of an eye, the elderly women around finally realized what was happening and shouted, "Murder! Tian Jinhua has murdered someone! The madwoman has murdered someone!"
Su Xiao ran over breathlessly, watching as the tall, handsome young man in military uniform grabbed the machete and dragged her best friend away. He then swiftly grabbed Tian Jinhua's machete and took it from her, pushing her far away.
Tian Jinhua staggered two steps, fell to the ground, and cried out in pain. She struggled to get up, still shouting and yelling at the crowd, "I'll kill you all! You all deserve to die..."
Su Xiao shouted, "This person has gone mad. Whoever she hurts will be in trouble. Does anyone have a rope? Tie her up quickly!"
The women acted quickly, and seeing that the man was acting crazy, they didn't think twice and immediately did as they were told. Soon, Tian Jinhua was tied up and thrown on the ground.
Huang Feiyan stared blankly at the man in front of her, her heart pounding like a deer. He had come to her like a hero, saving her from danger. She... no, she was about to die.
"Yanzi, are you alright?" Su Xiao stepped forward and hugged Huang Feiyan's swaying body, asking worriedly.
"I, I'm fine." Huang Feiyan stared intently at the man in front of her, not even glancing at her friend. She clutched her chest, her voice trembling slightly, unable to hide her excitement, "Brother Su, Brother Su Qiang, thank you for saving me."
Su Qiang?
Su Xiao's head exploded with a bang, and fragments of memories flooded in. She had just been worried about her best friend. Looking at the man in front of her again, it really was him. "Brother, you're back?"
"Yes, Xiaoxiao, your brother is back." The man's eyes were only on Su Xiao, his clear eyes filled with joy. "Your brother has finally found you."
As Su Qiang spoke, his eyes reddened. Recalling the experiences of the past few days, he felt a pang of heartache.
"Brother, it's good that you're back." Su Xiao looked at Su Qiang and saw the change in his expression. She felt bad too and could only offer dry words of comfort.
The commotion Su Xiao made surprised and envied the onlookers, who started discussing it amongst themselves.
"Oh, so you're Su Zhiqing's brother." "Young man, you have a bright future..." "Su Zhiqing is so lucky."
Surrounded by the crowd, Su Qiang, Su Xiao, and Huang Feiyan listened to their discussion with forced smiles, occasionally offering a question or two in response.
Although they were impatient, they could only wait patiently for the person in charge to arrive.
However, they didn't have to wait long.
Murder with a knife is no small matter.
Zhao Xi had heard the whole story on the way here, and his face was as black as soot.
"Make way, make way, our Secretary Zhao is here."
The people on the outside immediately shouted when they saw Zhao Xi. Zhao Xi felt a headache coming on. Really, there was no need to shout so loudly. It wasn't anything good anyway.
