Chapter 189, /.

Thanks to Su Xiao's witty remarks, the atmosphere in the room became lively again.

With so many people in the room, Tian Rongyao didn't say much about his daughter and Cheng Jiulang's relationship. He neither agreed nor disagreed, which was taken as tacit consent.

"Uncle, I'll take you out to play tomorrow. It's not easy to come to Kyoto, so we have to visit some famous historical sites and watch the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square."

Tian Rongyao was about to say no, but when he heard about raising the national flag, he immediately changed his mind and said, "Raising the national flag? Okay, I'll go see it."

Before Su Xiao could reply, Cheng Jiulang spoke up first, "Then I'll drive over to pick you up tomorrow. There are many people, and the car will be more convenient. Uncle, is that alright?"

Su Xiao secretly gave him a thumbs up. He really knew how to seize every opportunity to be attentive.

Sure enough, Tian Rongyao was clearly happy.

That's right. Cheng Jiulang's abilities are beyond doubt. A son-in-law is like half a son. If he's capable, he'll definitely only benefit our family.

"Alright, alright, then I'll take advantage of you juniors to broaden my horizons." Upon hearing Tian Rongyao's words, Cheng Jiulang's tense heart finally relaxed a bit.

If they're willing to let him do things, then there's hope; the real problem is if they're adamant, then there's nowhere to start.

Cheng Jiulang was delighted and stole a glance at Tian Shuang. Their eyes met, and Tian Shuang lowered her head shyly, but the smile on her lips could not be hidden.

Everyone present saw it and offered their silent blessings.

The next morning, Cheng Jiulang drove over on time, taking a carload of people to Tiananmen Square. They first watched the flag-raising ceremony, and then visited the Forbidden City and other museums.

On the third day, we continued our whirlwind tour of Kyoto's famous tourist attractions.

On the fourth day, Su Qiang, Huang Feiyan, and Su Xiao took the four members of the Tian family on a train to Nanshi.

Returning to Nanshi, Su Xiao looked at the familiar streets and couldn't help but sigh at the impermanence of life.

"Oh my, is this Qiangzi from the Su family? And Xiaoxiao? The girl from the Huang family? What are you all doing here..." As they entered the alleyway leading to their home, an auntie recognized them and called out at the top of her lungs, "...You're back?"

"Yes, Aunt Liu, we're back. We've come back to see Grandpa and Grandma," Su Xiao said with a smile.

"Oh my, your grandparents are doing great, they're being taken care of, they're practically old ladies now, you'll see when you go back and visit them." Aunt Liu's eyes gleamed, she looked like she was about to watch a good show.

Seeing her like this, Su Xiao knew that something strange must have happened at home again.

Suppressing her doubts, she quickened her pace and walked forward.

However, she hadn't gone far when she was stopped again. Although it wasn't her who was being stopped, she couldn't leave first.

"You brat, you finally decided to come back!" An old woman rushed over and slapped Huang Feiyan hard across the face.

"Oh dear, Grandma Huang, what are you doing? Let's talk this out." Su Xiao immediately stepped forward to stop them, and Su Qiang also pulled Huang Feiyan back, preventing the slap from landing.

"This is my family matter, it's none of your business to interfere. I'm disciplining my granddaughter, does it bother you? If you keep talking nonsense, I'll beat you all up too. Humph, it's all your fault for corrupting my girl..." The old woman had a bad temper, and it was unclear whether something had happened to the Huang family.

"Grandma Huang, you're wrong. Even if you're an elder, you can't beat or scold people for no reason. This is a new society now. Besides, Yanzi is my sister-in-law now, she's a member of the Su family." Su Xiao's words were quite surprising, and immediately caused some onlookers to whisper among themselves.

"What? You brat, you've been seeing other men behind the family's back!" Huang's mother had just come out when she heard the last sentence, and she was immediately horrified.

"Mom, didn't you already disown me? What business is it of yours now?" Huang Feiyan looked at her grandmother and mother with a sarcastic expression. She still remembered the scene when she left home a few years ago. Anyway, since she went to the countryside, her family had never sent her anything or a letter, not even a single word, as if she had never been their daughter.

"Bullshit! I don't acknowledge you, but you're still my daughter. You've really grown up to be something..." Mrs. Huang was so angry that her mouth trembled.

"Alright, we'll talk about this later. Move aside, there's such a big group of people here. How are we supposed to get home if you're blocking the way?" Huang Feiyan didn't want to talk to her mother anymore and waved her hand to move aside.

This action angered Huang's mother, who immediately tried to hit Huang Feiyan.

Su Qiang immediately stepped in front of Huang Feiyan, "Mom, let's talk this out. Don't get physical. Let us go home and put our things down first, and we'll come back to explain to you later..."

Su Qiang spoke politely, but he encountered someone who wasn't reasonable.

"It's you, Qiangzi. You're supposed to be a soldier, how could you do something like abducting a woman? Do you even deserve this uniform you wear?"

Huang's mother blurted out, which angered Huang Feiyan. She retorted angrily, "I'm an adult. Qiangzi and I are in love and got married because of our military marriage. What are you trying to do? Let me tell you, breaking up a military marriage is a crime that can land you in jail. If you don't believe me, go ask the police station."

Mrs. Huang was taken aback by her words and quieted down for a moment.

Taking advantage of the situation, Su Xiao pushed her aside, saying, "Auntie, we'll come back to find you in a little while, don't worry."

Seeing this, Su Qiang took the opportunity to pull Huang Feiyan away first, followed by Tian Rongyao and the others. As for what they were thinking, it was unknown and unimportant.

The Huang family and the Su family lived not far apart, and because of the commotion at the alley entrance, many people came out to watch the excitement.

At the entrance of the Su family home, Grandpa Su and Grandma Su were also standing at the door.

"Grandpa and Grandma, we're back." Su Qiang was very happy to see the two of them.

"Ah, you're back, good, good." Grandpa Su seemed a little lost, his expression somewhat flustered. Combining what Aunt Liu had just said, Su Xiao knew that going home would be another tough battle.

"Grandpa and Grandma, Yanzi and I are married. Yanzi, greet them." Su Qiang didn't say anything more and first confirmed Huang Feiyan's identity.

"Grandpa, Grandma," Huang Feiyan greeted them obediently.

Seeing that he had already called out to his grandparents, but they were still standing at the door without making any move, Su Qiang asked suspiciously, "Grandpa and Grandma, let's go home first."

"Oh, right, right, let's go home." Grandpa Su stepped aside, and Su Qiang led his men into the yard, only to be startled by what he saw inside.

The entire yard had been mostly cleared out to grow vegetables, and a chicken coop had been built in one corner, where chickens were now running around.

Most importantly, there was a woman inside, washing clothes by the well.

"Grandpa, Grandma, what's this?" Su Qiang couldn't help but frown.

The woman stood up somewhat awkwardly and rubbed her hands together.
