The first snow of winter came without warning; overnight, the world was covered in white.
Su Xiao opened the door, tightened her scarf, and then went outside. Her feet crunched on the snow as dense snowflakes continued to fall.
One or two flakes landed on the eyelashes, gathering into a small droplet.
Su Xiao blinked and shook her head slightly to prevent the snow water from getting into her eyes.
"Xiaoxiao, get up. Why aren't you coming inside?" Huang Feiyan stood at the kitchen door and waved to her.
"They're here."
It was a beautiful snowy day. She enjoyed standing in the snow, stretching out her arms to embrace the charm of nature.
However, you shouldn't stay too long, or you might catch a cold.
As soon as Su Xiao entered the room, Huang Feiyan immediately stepped forward and brushed the snowflakes off her body. In just a short while, the coat on her shoulders was already a little wet.
"Xiaoxiao, why are you still acting like a child?" Su Qiang got up from behind the stove and made room for her. "Come and warm yourself by the fire."
"I'm a child myself, how can I resemble one?" Su Xiao retorted, "We're not married yet, who isn't a baby at heart?"
"Pfft." Huang Feiyan laughed. "Yes, yes, Xiao Xiao is still very young."
Although she always listened to Xiaoxiao's instructions when they were together, and Xiaoxiao was always the one helping her and guiding her forward, she was actually older than Xiaoxiao. She was the older sister and should have been taking care of her.
The family ate breakfast happily, chatting and laughing. Su Qiang continued to clean and decorate the new house, while Su Xiao and Huang Feiyan went to school.
Because of the snow, they planned to walk, so they left home earlier than usual.
Upon opening the gate, I saw a car parked in front of it.
"Oh my, Comrade Shang is here to pick you up, hurry up and go." Huang Feiyan couldn't help but tease Shang Ziming, who was standing by the car with an umbrella.
"Hmph..." Su Qiang snorted arrogantly and pouted. Although he didn't want to admit it, he was still very happy for his sister that Shang Ziming had come to pick her up.
When Shang Ziming saw the door open, he walked towards her.
"I've come to pick you up and take you to school. Get in the car." Shang Ziming came especially for her. It's snowing today, and the roads are difficult to travel on.
"Brother, Comrade Huang, you two get on the bus too."
"We don't need it," Huang Feiyan said, waving her hands and shaking her head repeatedly.
Su Qiang chimed in, "Yes, we can walk there ourselves. Xiaoxiao, you should get in the car now."
Su Xiao was naturally happy to see Shang Ziming come to pick her up, but she felt a little bad that she had to leave by car while her brother and Yanzi braved the heavy snow.
When Shang Ziming took the initiative to invite her to join, she breathed a sigh of relief and was very grateful for his gesture. Just as she was feeling happy, she heard Su Qiang and Yanzi refuse one after another, and she immediately became unhappy.
"Brother, Yanzi, we told you to get in the car, so please get in, hurry up!" Su Xiao waved her hand, blinking her eyes with a pleading look in them.
"Yes, get in the car. I'll give you a ride; it won't take long," Shang Ziming kindly advised.
Su Shangqiang and Huang Feiyan exchanged a glance. He saw her hunching her shoulders and stamping her feet to keep warm, and he couldn't help but feel sorry for her. He accepted the situation calmly and said, "Okay, then thank you."
"You're welcome," Su Qiang said patiently, thanking him.
