Qin Yumei glared at him fiercely, but this glare had no effect on Gu Tingjiang. He only found her adorable, just like back then.
"Yes, yes, I wouldn't dare. That's why I came to tell you." Gu Tingjiang was very sensible and immediately admitted defeat.
Qin Yumei suppressed her anger, rolled her eyes, and said seriously, "Don't give me that frivolous look. You're not young anymore, stop pretending. Speak properly and make yourself clear..."

"Where is the child?" Qin Yumei anxiously grabbed his arm tightly.
Gu Tingjiang glanced at her silently, wondering how long it had been since she had taken the initiative to contact him.
"Say something," Qin Yumei frowned and nudged him.
“Nancheng,” Gu Tingjiang began, “but they don’t know exactly where Jinshan took the child. They only know that he got off at Nancheng Station with the child in his arms, and when he came back, the child was gone.”
Qin Yumei felt a lump in her throat, unable to breathe, her heart pounding with unease. "Then what should we do? Go find him."
Gu Tingjiang was being pushed around by her, but he still had to calm her down, "Don't get agitated. I'll go look for her, I'm sure I can find her, don't worry."
Qin Yumei tried to calm herself down, pushed him away, looked at the back of the chair, and a determined look flashed in her eyes, "I'm going to find it myself."
Upon hearing this, Gu Tingjiang immediately objected, "No, your body can't handle a long journey."
Qin Yumei stubbornly shook her head, "I want to go. I finally got the news, and I want to go myself."
When Gu Tingjiang saw her insistence, he was immediately at his wit's end. He should have known better than to say it. If he really let her go and something happened, he would regret it to death.
After thinking about it, I realized I couldn't be too forceful; I could only try to persuade them.
“There are so many people coming and going at Nancheng Railway Station, no one knows who Jinshan entrusted the child to. So many years have passed, are you going to keep asking everyone you meet at the railway station?” Gu Tingjiang said earnestly. “Let me go and investigate first, and you can go after I have reliable results, okay?”
Qin Yumei pursed her lips and remained silent.
Gu Tingjiang pressed on, "Besides, the New Year is just around the corner, and if you leave, your mother-in-law will worry about you."
Qin Yumei lowered her eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly, her mind racing with a thousand thoughts.
Gu Tingjiang finally breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she didn't say anything.
"What about you? You're not going to wait until after the New Year to go, are you?" Qin Yumei clenched her fists tightly. If he dared to say yes, she would punch him and make sure he knew what pain was.
Seeing her get angry, Gu Tingjiang immediately agreed, "Go, I'll go right away. That's why I came here today to tell you that if all goes well, I might be able to bring the child back before the New Year."
Hearing Gu Tingjiang's words, Qin Yumei, unusually, no longer had a cold expression. She even gave him a few instructions, "Be careful on the road. When you get there, it's best to find some acquaintances to help you search. Let me know if you have any news."

Gu Tingjiang came happily and left full of enthusiasm.
