Chapter 106 106 Big Goose and Little Black

After seeing Zhao Xi off, Su Xiao walked briskly toward the chicken coop.

There is a small yard in front of the chicken coop, duck coop, and goose coop, where the chickens, ducks, and geese are playing.

Su Xiao went to the warehouse to get the frames, planning to collect a batch first.

Upon entering the chicken coop, I found it to be relatively clean, indicating that someone had already cleaned it.

Thinking back to the tasks assigned by Secretary Zhao, cleaning the chicken coop wasn't one of them. But then I realized it must have been the people living here who did it. As for who those people were, anyone familiar with this history would know.

She probably arrived too early; there weren't many eggs inside. Su Xiao looked around and then left.

She went to the duck pens again, and then went to the goose pens.

"Goose, goose, goose..."

"ah……"

A large white goose raised its neck and charged towards her. Su Xiao was startled and stood there, too afraid to move. Suddenly, a news report about a large white goose biting someone flashed through her mind.

"Little Black, don't be mean to your sister."

A clear and melodious voice, like divine music, appeared behind her. The big white goose named Xiao Hei seemed to understand her words, and indeed obediently flapped its wings and slowed down its steps.

Su Xiao clutched her chest, secretly relieved. She turned around, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Tian Niu, and said gratefully, "Tian Niu, thank you."

Sweetie smiled shyly and said softly, "Don't be afraid, sister. Little Black is very well-behaved and usually doesn't bite."

Well, she wasn't comforted at all. She usually doesn't bite, but otherwise she's just waiting to suffer.

Su Xiao's eyes darted around, her face filled with sorrow, and she said softly, "But I saw it was very fierce just now. If you hadn't shouted, I would definitely have been bitten. It was really scary."

Upon hearing this, Sweetie looked somewhat bewildered and didn't know what to do for a moment.

Pressing her advantage, Su Xiao pleaded, "Sweetie, I see it listens to you a lot. When I come to collect eggs in the future, could you please come along and keep me company? With you here, I won't be afraid. Is that alright?"

Su Xiao made a pleading gesture, blinking her eyes with a look of longing.

Sweetie blushed shyly, her little ears turning red, which was very cute.

Su Xiao's eyes lit up even more. Kawaii, so cute!

"Okay, okay." Sweetie mustered her courage, agreed, and then immediately turned and ran away.

Su Xiao stared dumbfounded at her retreating figure, which was darting around like a rabbit.

Is she really that scary? Looking down at her clothes, then taking a small mirror from her pocket (actually a hidden space), she looked at herself from left to right. Hmm, very cute, very pretty…

Sweetie ran to Granny Cai in one breath.

Granny Cai asked with a smile, "How did it go?"

"My sister asked me to help her collect goose eggs, and I agreed." Sweetie was so happy she wanted to spin around. "My sister's smile is so beautiful."

Grandma Cai smiled and said, "Our sweet girl is very pretty too."

Sweetie looked down at her faded, patched clothes, her smile fading, and said with some disappointment, "They don't look good."

Granny Cai sighed, patted her head, and felt a pang of pity.

The little girl is growing up; perhaps she can think of a way to prepare something for her birthday.

"Didn't you promise to stay with her? Why did you come back?"

"Ah, I'll go check it out." Sweetie ran off in a flash.

Granny Cai's hands never stopped twisting hemp rope to weave straw sandals. Her fingers flew across the paper, and as you watched her back, the furrows on her forehead seemed to deepen.

Girls should play with girls around the same age; it won't do for them to hang out with a bunch of old fogies every day.
