Chapter 189, /.

Su Peipei went mad. As the jade pendant fell to the ground and shattered into three pieces, she felt that all her hope had been shattered.

She had kept this jade pendant her whole life, and she was counting on it to bring her great success in the future.

No, she can't just let it go like this.

Blood, that's right, blood.

Su Peipei picked up a piece of broken jade and slashed it across her palm without a care. Instantly, a bloody mark appeared on her hand, and the jade pendant was stained blood red.

"Why not? Mine, mine, it must be not enough." Su Peipei muttered to herself, then picked up two more pieces and continued to scratch her palm.

Oh dear...

Su Xiao unconsciously clenched her fist.

Doesn't she feel pain? She's being too cruel to herself.

"Why not? Why? Ah, sob sob..." Su Peipei cried, her hands covered in blood as she clutched the jade pendant.

Su Xiao had a headache; what was going on?

She stroked her chin, then suddenly had another idea. "Xiao Liu, what do you think about giving her some space?"

"What do you mean, Master?" Xiao Liu asked, puzzled.

“Well…” Su Xiao thought of a way to monitor Su Peipei’s every move at any time.

On the ground, the frantic Su Peipei suddenly stopped crying and burst into laughter, "Mine, I knew it would work, great!"

"Second sister, what are you doing? Get up! Don't think I'll let you off the hook just because you're lying on the ground acting crazy. You broke my jade pendant, so tell me, how are you going to compensate me?" Su Xiao looked down at her coldly, determined to make up for it.

Su Peipei, having regained her space, couldn't stop smiling.

Seeing Su Xiaoxiao's anger, she was no longer annoyed. Instead, she smiled gently and stood up gracefully. However, with her tear-streaked face, bubbling snot, and the mess of blood on her body, she looked rather comical.

"Xiaoxiao, this is my fault. Don't worry, I will make it up to you."

Su Xiao watched her behavior and couldn't help but feel a toothache, so she squinted slightly.

This woman changes her face so quickly, she's thick-skinned, flexible, and a great actress; she's not to be underestimated.

"Hmph..." Su Xiao snorted coldly and said in a deep voice, "I'm really not at ease. Does Second Sister think she still has any credibility?"

A shadow of gloom flashed in Su Peipei's eyes, and her smile almost faltered. "So what do you want?"

“It’s up to you what you want to do,” Su Xiao emphasized. “You’re the one who made the mistake, so please show some sincerity, Second Sister, otherwise…”

Su Xiao looked outside and coldly threatened, "If I yell right now and make a scene, what do you think you'll do?"

In fact, Su Xiao didn't think making a big fuss was the best option. As the saying goes, the current laws are imperfect. If Su Peipei can't be brought down, the female protagonist has more chances of turning misfortune into good fortune and reversing adversity than others.

Rather than incurring the female lead's resentment over this, it's better to gain some benefits first, then seize a weakness in her hands so that she'll have something to worry about in the future.

"Xiaoxiao, let's talk this out. We're both daughters of the Su family, and we grew up together. They say we're all in the same boat, and if one suffers, we all suffer. If this gets out of hand, it won't be good for your reputation, right?" Su Peipei appealed to her emotions and reasoned with her, and even reached out to take Su Xiaoxiao's hand.

Su Xiao dodged away disdainfully, "Second sister, just talk, don't get physical. Also, don't talk to me about feelings, you're not worthy."

Now that things have fallen apart, Su Xiao is too lazy to continue playing the good sister role with her, lest it create further distance between them.
