September, the golden autumn month, is the busy season for farming.
"Yanzi, get up." Su Xiao yawned and patted Huang Feiyan's door.
“Ugh, ouch…” Huang Feiyan’s agonizing howls echoed from inside the house.
Su Xiao shook her head, ignoring her, and went to the front yard to cook breakfast.
Arriving at the front yard, just after washing the rice, Cao Bing came out and voluntarily went to the stove to help start the fire.
Seeing this, Su Xiao didn't say anything. She had already said what needed to be said, and since he wouldn't listen, there was nothing she could do.
After Cao Bing and Huang Feiyan arrived, it was only natural that the three of them ended up eating together as a group.
Cao Bing and Huang Feiyan weren't as lucky as Su Xiao; they had to work in the fields. Fortunately, it was the off-season for farming in July, so the work in the fields wasn't too busy or too strenuous.

"Don't say anything more. I'll just go help out for an hour or two. I have my own work to do, and I can't keep helping you guys. You guys still have to do the bulk of the work yourselves." Su Xiao patted her hand to reassure her.
Huang Feiyan's lips twitched. She was tired after an hour or two. Sigh, she decided not to say anything more. She would know once she got to work in the fields. She would try to persuade her then.
Cao Bing listened to their conversation from the front, wanting to say something several times, but ultimately didn't.
When Su Xiao arrived in Xiaheshan Village, it was her first time working in the fields. Some of the women were very curious when they saw her and started gossiping.
"Comrade Su, why are you out in the fields too? Did your work at the farm get abandoned?"
"No, I was doing just fine, how could I be kicked out? I'm just here to help a friend with some farm work, I'll be leaving in a bit," Su Xiao replied with a smile.
