Chapter 120: Some Misunderstandings
"Hello, Mr. Hua, cough cough cough..." Shang Ziming looked intently at the old man Hua.
He had been holding back a lot of energy, but once he opened his mouth, it was like all the air had been released, and he couldn't stop.
"Brother Mu, are you alright?" Seeing that he couldn't stop coughing, Su Xiao quickly went over to him, patting his back and pulling him outside.
The air outside was indeed very fresh. Taking advantage of the darkness, Su Xiao quickly took a loquat out of her pocket, peeled it, and fed it to him.
She knew she should get him water, but she didn't bring a water bottle. Her bag had been taken by him earlier, and it was stuffy inside. She didn't dare take the risk, so she could only give him a loquat that didn't take up much space.
The cool flesh of the fruit touched his lips, causing him to pause for a moment. His eyes darkened, and he opened his mouth to take it in, inadvertently touching her warm fingers.
Su Xiao didn't think too much about it and asked worriedly, "Eat quickly, are you feeling any better? Is this enough? I have some more here..."
Shang Ziming looked at her intently and smiled, "I'm much better, don't worry."
The loquat has a rich aroma and a sweet and sour taste, with a hint of sweetness that goes straight to the heart.
"Young man, your health isn't good." Old Man Hua looked at the two of them, his brows furrowed in anger, and spoke sarcastically.
He recognized Su Xiaoxiao; she was the little girl from his memories who sweetly called him "Grandpa." Seeing her was like seeing his own grandchild, his own family. This newly regained family bond, before they even had a chance to acknowledge each other, was met with someone trying to steal her away, and he was immediately displeased.
"Elder Hua, I've been looking for you for a long time." Shang Ziming hadn't expected that the person he'd been searching for so long would actually meet him under these circumstances.
Old Man Hua's ears twitched, and his eyes flickered. "What are you saying? My surname is Hua. You've mistaken me for someone else."
With that, he turned and walked away.
"Elder Hua, Elder Qin introduced us to you," Shang Ziming said calmly, successfully stopping the old man in his tracks.
Old Man Hua remained silent for a while before saying, "Help Xiaoxiao with the work first, and come over again tomorrow when you have time."
After saying that, he walked away with his hands behind his back without waiting for Shang Ziming to say anything more.
"Hua?" Su Xiao was still a little confused, she murmured.
"Yes, his surname should be Hua, not Hua (花)."
"Do you know where he's from?" Just now, some images suddenly appeared in Su Xiao's mind. They were the memories of the original Su Xiaoxiao. She seemed to know who this person was.
"I know, he's from Kyoto, but he also lived in the southern part of the city for a while."
Is it Da'an Hutong on Xuanwu Road?
"Does Xiaoxiao know him?" Now it was Shang Ziming's turn to be curious.
"Yes, I saw him when I was little." Su Xiao was now certain that the old man Hua was Grandpa Hua next door, the Grandpa Hua who had suddenly disappeared. So he was here, and he wasn't that far away after all.
Seeing her staring blankly, Shang Ziming couldn't help but reach out to touch her head. However, Su Xiao tilted her head slightly and took a step back, avoiding him.
Shang Ziming's large hand was left hanging in the air.
"You came here as an educated youth just to find him?" Su Xiao's mind was in a mess, and she desperately needed an answer.
“Yes.” Shang Ziming silently withdrew his hand.
Su Xiao's face was pale, and she lowered her head.
So, he came to help her in order to get closer to Grandpa Hua?
Thinking further back, it seems that it was Uncle Shu who led them on their second meeting...
Why do I suddenly feel a little disappointed?
"Let's go back."
"Not ready yet."
"I'll do it tomorrow." I'm not in the mood today.
