The political commissar's wife left with the girl. Shan Zhishu wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and turned back to his dormitory.
Shang Ziming opened the door and let her in, asking in a deep voice, "Mom, what's going on? You're not trying to cause trouble for me, are you?"
"Hey, how can you talk like that?" Shan Zhishu glared at him unhappily. "What kind of trouble could I possibly be causing? It's all for you."
"No way, I already told you, I have a boyfriend." Shang Ziming looked at Shan Zhishu with a serious expression.
Shan Zhishu also felt wronged, "I know. I didn't do anything. Who knew that Sister Zhang would target me? I told her that I already have a boyfriend, but she didn't believe me at all because she hadn't seen him. Besides, she said that since we're not engaged or married, it wouldn't hurt to meet a few more people, and it's always good to be picky."
"So you agreed to let her choose after she said that?" Shang Ziming stared at his mother, his face serious.
"No, I would never do such a thing," Shan Zhishu quickly denied, she wouldn't admit to something she hadn't said.
"Then why did she bring people with her?" Shang Zimu asked suspiciously.
"How would I know?" Shan Zhishu retorted, equally displeased. "What she does is her business, and I can't interfere. It's your fault for not settling things up with Xiaoxiao sooner and making it official. Otherwise, none of this would have happened today."
Shang Ziming was speechless and unable to refute what he was being said.
"Alright." Shan Zhishu waved his hand and turned to go back into the house. "I'll deal with her tomorrow. It's really not good to say too much today, lest she make a scene and it becomes ugly. Otherwise, I would have already rejected her."
Shang Ziming didn't say anything and followed Shan Zhishu into the house, but he was thinking that he would have a good talk with Political Commissar Liu later.
My mother is unreliable, shouldn't I, as her son, keep an eye on her?
Upon seeing people return to the house, and noticing that Shang Huaiguo and Su Xiao were actually playing chess, he quietly went over to watch.
They had just left, and Su Xiao and Shang Huaiguo were speechless for a moment, creating an awkward atmosphere.
Shang Huaiguo certainly couldn't chat with her about everyday things, so seeing the girl's reserved demeanor, he asked her if she knew how to play chess.
Su Xiao is really good at chess; she took an extracurricular class when she was a child in her previous life.
So the two set up a chessboard and began.
Su Xiao was initially very interested; she hadn't played for a long time and was itching to try it again.
However, after taking about thirty steps, she started to feel tired. Her opponent was definitely a master, subtly suppressing her fighting style...
Shang Ziming looked at the chessboard and scoffed at the old man's behavior of bullying a little girl.
