Chapter 90: Let's Fire Together!
"Xiaoxiao, are you done?" Shu Bowen came out to ask about the situation.
Su Xiao then snapped out of her daze, awkwardly averting her gaze, and said with a slight nervousness, "It'll be ready soon, don't rush me."
Shang Ziming chuckled, feeling refreshed and relaxed. His gaze towards Shu Bowen softened. "Little Shu, cooking with a coal stove isn't as convenient as cooking with a traditional stove. Cough cough, let's cook together from now on."
"Huh? Oh, okay, alright? Xiao Xiao?" Shu Bowen was a little nervous in front of Shang Ziming. He had heard his father talk about his background. His resume was too frightening. His father couldn't explain it clearly. He only said that he was in a high position and had great power. He was not to be offended.
He could still joke and laugh with Fang Minghao, but he was a little intimidated by him, so he agreed immediately. Only after agreeing did he realize that this was a matter between two people, so he could only awkwardly change his tone and look at Su Xiao apologetically.
Shang Ziming looked at Su Xiao with a smile, waiting for her answer.
Su Xiao's face was still slightly red. She attributed it to the fact that the coal stove was too difficult to handle. She had been trying for a long time but still couldn't get it lit. It seemed difficult to cook with it. "Then, let's cook together."
"Okay." Shang Ziming was in a good mood and added, "Xiaoxiao, you rest for a while. Let Haozi handle this; he's good at it."
As he spoke, he walked to the kitchen doorway and said, "Haozi, come out and light the coal stove."
"Huh? I'm not done yet." Fang Minghao kept working.
"Enough with the nonsense." Shang Ziming walked over, took the knife from his hand, and took over the job himself. It was just slicing potato shreds, simple.
"Are you sure you can do it?" Fang Minghao was a little doubtful. He had known him for so many years, but he had never seen him cook.
"Thump!" The knife sank into the chopping board with a dull thud.
Shang Ziming looked at him sharply. "What do you think?"
"Okay, you're good." Fang Minghao was so frightened that he immediately nodded in affirmation of his ability, then turned and ran away.
How can a man say no? He's hit the nail on the head; he'd better get out of there.
In the kitchen, Shang Ziming snorted and tossed a potato into the air, catching it as he went.
"Thump thump thump..." The rhythmic sound of chopping vegetables rang out. Shang Ziming's eyes were serious, and his movements were clean and neat. Shredded potatoes were a piece of cake.
Those hands that hold the gun are always incredibly steady.
"Xiao Shu, haha, what are you doing?" Fang Minghao came out of the kitchen and saw Shu Bowen frantically stuffing branches into the coal stove. A thick smoke billowed out from underneath, and Shu Bowen was caught off guard and his face was covered in soot.
He immediately wiped it with his hand, and as you can imagine, his face immediately became covered in smears.
Su Xiao sensed something was wrong when Shu Bowen was stuffing branches into her hands, and immediately dodged backward, thus escaping unscathed.
Looking at Shu Bowen's appearance, he couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"I... cough cough." Shu Bowen took a few steps back, waving his cigarette, looking annoyed and utterly dejected.
That's terrible!
After laughing, Su Xiao finally had a change of heart.
"Come here quickly, I'll get you some water. You should wash up soon, the educated youths will be back soon." Su Xiao had already heard the laughter and chatter not far away, which is why she reminded them.
Using the cool well water, Shu Bowen quickly washed himself clean, restoring his clean and refreshed appearance.
"Hey, what are you all doing? We saw thick smoke from afar, we thought the yard was on fire." A slightly shrill female voice appeared at the gate, and then a group of men and women walked in one after another.
"I'm lighting the stove, it's fine." Fang Minghao casually answered her question as he scooped out the extra branches and relit the fire.
