Shang Ziming already had a guess in his mind; he guessed it was the woman who had just come to the door with Aunt Zhang.
He simply shook his head, saying, "I don't know him."
He truly didn't know her; he wasn't lying at all.
"Oh." Su Xiao didn't suspect him and gave a soft "oh," then relaxed. "Maybe I'm overthinking it. The way she looked at me was strange, a little scary."
Upon hearing her words, Shang Ziming's heart tightened slightly, his brows furrowed, and he said angrily, "She glared at you?"
"No, I don't know her." Su Xiao said uncertainly, "Forget about her, maybe I saw it wrong."
After driving for a while, Su Xiao suddenly realized that her overreaction was unnecessary. The girl hadn't done anything to her, so why was she being so suspicious?
"Okay." Shang Ziming readily agreed without changing his expression, seemingly unaffected.
"Where are we going?" Su Xiao asked cheerfully, putting aside her previous feelings.
"Is there a particular place you'd like to go?" Shang Ziming asked in return.
"I..." Su Xiao thought about many things. Since they had a car today, maybe they could go to a more distant place?
"Are there any mountains near Beijing? I'd like to go and see if I can hunt some small animals, like pheasants or rabbits, or even collect some duck eggs."
Since arriving in Kyoto, Su Xiao has been shuttling between the school and the hospital. How long has it been since a new species entered her space?
