Chapter 132: Good and Bad News

"Ahem, just call me Grandpa Hua." Old Man Hua was a little excited, his eyes shining as he looked at her.

His identity was exposed yesterday, and he was busy looking for a solution from Old Man Gong. Today, with people coming and going, he still hasn't had a chance.

Now……

"Xiaoxiao, would you like to go for a walk with Grandpa?"

“Okay, Grandpa Hua.” Su Xiao stood up readily and followed the old man Hua.

"Xiaoxiao, um..." Old Man Hua was a little excited. He had so many things he wanted to know, and for a moment he didn't know how to ask.

"Grandma Hua and Xiaoming are both doing well," Su Xiao said, taking the initiative to speak.

"Xiao Ming?" Old Man Hua trembled slightly, his eyes filled with tears, and he was somewhat agitated.

Su Xiao nodded. "Yes, he is your grandson."

When Old Man Hua disappeared, Aunt Hua had not yet discovered she was pregnant. This grandson must be the first time he had ever heard of him, no wonder he was so excited.

"Xiaoming is very smart and sensible. He's a little man, and he can even take care of Grandma Hua..."

Su Xiao told some funny stories about Xiao Ming and Grandma Hua, which made Grandpa Hua laugh heartily, but then he started to cry.

He choked up and said, "Are they the only two people, the old man and the young girl, relying on each other for survival?"

Su Xiao felt a tightness in her chest and spoke with difficulty, "Uncle Hua was taken away not long after you left. Aunt Hua passed away not long after giving birth to Xiaoming..."

"Take it away? Take it where?" Old Man Hua wiped the tears from his face, looking somewhat awkward and at a loss.

Su Xiao remained silent; she didn't know either.

Old Man Hua didn't expect her to know, and muttered to himself, "It's all my fault, I couldn't protect them and let them suffer."

Su Xiao felt heavy-hearted, and frowned as she thought again of Grandma Hua's ordeal this year.

"Grandpa Hua, don't be sad. I believe Uncle Hua is somewhere, living a good life. Grandma Hua and Xiaoming have had a tough time these past few years, but they're still here. As long as everyone's here, I believe your family will be reunited sooner or later..."

Su Xiao wasn't really good at comforting people, and she stammered out a few words.

Old Man Hua listened attentively and nodded, saying, "Yes, it's good that everyone is here. I... I... Xiao Xiao, Grandpa has other things to do. Thank you for telling me all this today..."

"Grandpa Hua, you go ahead and do what you need to do." Su Xiao knew he was probably trying to find Uncle Hua.

"Hey, hey." Old Man Hua hurriedly left.

Su Xiao looked at the azure sky and sighed softly.

As evening approached, Tian Sheng returned, this time bringing even more saplings.

Su Xiao was overjoyed. After packing it all up in a large bag, she planned to get up early the next day and go to the town post office to mail it, though it was just for show.

Su Xiao cooked dinner again. She had dug up several kinds of wild vegetables today and planned to cook them all, taste them, and see which one was the most popular so she could dig up more in the future.

"Oh, Xiaoxiao, this dish is so delicious, so refreshing!" Shu Bowen praised it as he ate, making Su Xiao feel embarrassed.

"If you like it, I'll dig up more next time and cook it for you."

"Mmm." Shu Bowen smiled with a satisfied look, but it was an eyesore.

“Xiaoxiao, I like to eat this too.” Fang Minghao retorted.

"Okay, I'll make them all." Su Xiao chuckled. It was just a few dishes, a simple task to prepare evenly.

Fang Minghao was satisfied, but Cheng Jiulang kicked him under the table. He suddenly realized what was happening and quietly looked at Shang Ziming.

Shang Ziming noticed his gaze and looked back, causing Fang Minghao to shiver inexplicably.
