The night sky is filled with stars, a gentle breeze blows, and the moon shines brightly.
The moonlight was like a shimmering veil, enveloping the earth in a thin, ethereal glow. The dark alleyway appeared tranquil and secluded.
Suddenly, a faint, dim light appeared in a small courtyard.
Su Peipei was certain that Su Xiao was fast asleep, because no matter how she called or nudged her, she didn't respond.
She confidently turned on the light and began her treasure hunt, rummaging through drawers and cabinets.
"Where could you have put it, you brat?" After searching for a long time and turning the whole house upside down, I still couldn't find it.
After thinking for a moment, she opened the door and went out of the house.
In the dead of night in May, a cool breeze suddenly blew against her, making her shiver. Looking around the courtyard, she saw swaying tree shadows and shifting dark shapes.
Perhaps because she was doing something wrong, she couldn't help but feel a little nervous.
However, the desire to find the jade pendant ultimately overcame the fear.
By the moonlight, she saw a lock hanging on the door of Su Eryong and Tian Ni's room.
Su Peipei frowned, returned to Su Xiaoxiao's room and successfully found the key. Overjoyed, she went to Su Eryong's room again, unlocked the door, and pushed it open.
She excitedly ran to the bed, not caring about the dirt, and crawled under the bed, dragging out a suitcase in a slightly disheveled manner.
Her face was full of excitement and anticipation. By the moonlight, she couldn't wait to open the box and take out the jade pendant.
Just as I was about to bite my finger, my vision suddenly went dark, and I caught a glimpse of a human-shaped shadow on the ground.
"Ah..." she exclaimed in surprise, and fell to the ground.
If you have a clear conscience, you have nothing to fear.
This fright terrified her so much that she lost her mind, and her body trembled uncontrollably.
"Clatter".
The light was turned on.
"Second sister, what are you doing in my parents' room?"
Su Xiao's eyes were sharp, yet tinged with a hint of mockery.
"You, it's you. How did you wake up?" The room was brightly lit, and after a moment of disorientation, Su Peipei recognized the person who had come in. Seeing that it was Su Xiaoxiao, she was surprised but relieved.
"Shouldn't I have woken up?" Su Xiao raised an eyebrow.
Su Peipei squinted, trying to hide the frustration in her eyes. How could the sleeping potion she bought with all her savings not work?
Yes, she went to the black market and bought a packet of sleeping pills. Before going to bed, she watched Su Xiaoxiao drink the spiked water before she felt safe to search for things.
But now, it has been directly exposed.
Su Peipei chuckled awkwardly, unable to find a way to argue, and subconsciously clenched the jade pendant in her hand.
"What are you holding in your hand?" Su Xiao sneered. She had naturally seen through her trick long ago. Drinking that glass of water was just a way of playing along; she had actually poured it directly into her spatial storage.
"No, it's nothing." Su Peipei's heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly put her hands behind her back.
"Give it to me, Second Sister. I trusted you so much, and you actually broke into my parents' room to steal things." Su Xiao stepped forward and took Su Peipei's hand.
Su Peipei resisted fiercely, and the two became entangled in a back-and-forth struggle.
Su Xiaoxiao's body might not be as strong as Su Peipei's, but Su Xiaoxiao was skillful. She grabbed Su Peipei's wrist joint with one hand, making her unable to move or break free.
"This was originally mine!" Su Peipei cried out anxiously, her voice sharp and shrill.
Su Xiao smiled sarcastically, "Yours? This jade pendant was given to me by my biological parents, how could it be yours? Are you not born to my aunt or uncle? Or are you trying to use this jade pendant to impersonate me?"
A flicker of panic crossed Su Peipei's eyes, realizing that she had indeed had this thought.
