On the morning of New Year's Eve, the courtyard was unusually quiet.
Since they didn't have to get up early to work and could sleep in, Su Xiao and Huang Feiyan both chose to stay in bed.
At nine o'clock, the two of them got up one after another, slowly tidied themselves up, ate a simple breakfast, picked up the gifts, and headed straight to the Hua family's house.
Xiao Ming opened the door and was overjoyed to see Su Xiao and Huang Feiyan. "Little Miss, Sister Yanzi, come in quickly, we've been waiting for you."
When Su Xiao and Huang Feiyan entered, they found that Yang Degong and Tian Niu had already arrived.
"Xiaoxiao, Yanzi, you're here!" Grandma Hua and Tianniu were making tangyuan (sweet rice balls), and the two of them quickly went over to help when they saw them.
Su Xiao looked and saw that there were black sesame filling, green vegetable and pork filling, and red date and red bean filling.
It has both salty and sweet flavors, which is perfect.
"Grandma, let us help you." Su Xiao stepped forward and skillfully picked up a ball of dough that had already been processed. She turned it in her hand and soon opened it. She held it with one hand and then added ingredients, all in one smooth motion.
With the two of them joining in, the job was done much faster.
Hua Shancheng and Yang Degong sat to the side, leisurely drinking tea, looking quite content.
"What about your leg? Why don't you get it treated during the New Year?" Hua Shancheng suggested, looking at his old friend.
Upon hearing this, Yang Degong frowned slightly, somewhat hesitant, "Once we start, we'll need at least a month to rest, right?"
If we let him rest for a month, what will happen to his work?
Hua Shancheng disagreed, saying, "Old Yang, your body is your own. The sooner you treat this leg, the better. The longer you delay, the harder it will be to recover. Work is never-ending. Besides, even if you're gone, someone else will still do the work. The world doesn't stop turning just because someone is missing."
Upon hearing Hua Shancheng's words, Su Xiao immediately agreed and added, "That's right, Grandpa Yang, your own health is the most important thing. Put everything else aside."
Yang Degong listened, looked at his feet, thought about it carefully, and said, "Okay, I'll listen to you. Let's get it treated as soon as possible."
Upon hearing his old friend's agreement, Hua Shancheng smiled and comforted him, "Don't worry, we are 80% confident that we can cure your foot."
Products published in the Pharmacopoeia are guaranteed to be of high quality.
The bone regeneration ointment is about to welcome its first patient.
When it was time for lunch, there was a knock on the door. Su Xiao rushed over to open it. "It's probably Shang Ziming."
Su Xiao was stunned when she opened the door.
"Who are you?" A middle-aged man came to the door. His hair was messy, his beard was unshaven, and his clothes were very worn. He looked like a refugee.
"Excuse me, is this the Hua Shancheng family's residence?" the man asked, his voice hoarse and filled with sorrow.
"Yes, and who are you?" Su Xiao asked.
"I am his son, Hua Lu, and I'm back." The man's eyes were a little moist as he looked frequently into the house.
Su Xiao's eyes widened, then she exclaimed in surprise, "Quick, come in, Uncle!"
Su Xiao moved aside.
The people inside heard the commotion and looked over.
When Hua Shancheng saw his son, his eyes instantly welled up with tears. "Dalu, you, you're back."
“Dad.” Hua Lu put down the bag on his shoulder, took a big step to Hua Shancheng, and knelt down heavily. “Dad, your son is back.”
"Dalu." Grandma Hua came out of the kitchen and saw the man kneeling on the ground. Tears instantly streamed down her face.
Seeing this, Su Xiao quickly stepped forward to support Grandma Hua, afraid that if she got too excited, this good thing would turn into a bad thing.
"Mom, your son is back." Hua Lu kowtowed to Grandma Hua.
"Get up quickly." Grandma Hua was heartbroken and couldn't bear to see him kneeling.
