The two spent the whole morning preparing peanuts and melon seeds.
In the afternoon, I took a comfortable nap to catch up on the sleep I missed from waking up early in the morning.
At two o'clock, the two of them took some snacks and headed to the movie theater. Hehe, these snacks, if sold there, will definitely make a profit.
Sure enough, their peanuts and melon seeds were warmly received as soon as they were offered.
However, they soon ran into trouble.
"Little girls, who gave you permission to sell things here? Hurry up and leave, or don't blame me for being impolite." An old man came out and started yelling at Su Xiao and Huang Feiyan.
This old man is a staff member at the movie theater; he's in charge of cleaning the theater.
When a large group of people bring sunflower seeds in, they'll definitely spit out the shells, which will increase his workload, so naturally he'll be unhappy.
Having figured all this out, Su Xiao naturally wasn't angry. Facing the indignant old man, she thought for a moment and asked, "Sir, is business good at the movie theater here?"
The old man didn't understand her question and said impatiently, "Go away, little brat, why are you asking so many questions?"
Seeing that he had a bad temper, Su Xiao didn't beat around the bush and said directly, "If business is good, I'd like to discuss a deal with you."
The old man's cloudy eyes darkened, and he mumbled, "What do you mean?"
Su Xiao smiled slightly, grabbed a few peanuts of each kind and tasted them. "Grandpa, please try some first, see if it's good."
The old man took it, popped one into his mouth, his eyes lit up, and he had to admit, "It's delicious."
Su Xiao smiled and said, "Grandpa, your movie theater is doing well, and my snacks are so delicious. Tell me, would the people who come to see the movie like to buy some to try?"
The old man glanced at her. "Isn't that obvious? How much did you sell just now?"
"If I offered you this business at a lower price, wholesale to sell, would you be willing?" Su Xiao smiled, waiting for his response.
A glint of shrewdness flashed in the old man's cloudy eyes. "How about the price? If it's too expensive, I don't have that much capital."
"That means you're willing," Su Xiao smiled, "For the first time, I can let you sell them for me first, and then you can give me the cost back after you've sold them all."
The old man squinted and chuckled, "Hehe, little girl, you're quite something."
Su Xiao discussed the cooperation agreement with the old man in detail, wrote it down, left some peanuts and melon seeds, waved goodbye, and left gracefully.
Huang Feiyan watched her trade the whole time, and only asked after they had walked away, "Xiaoxiao, why don't we sell it ourselves? We'll make a lot less money that way."
Su Xiao explained with a smile, "Yanzi, remember this: those who do retail will never be able to beat those who do wholesale."
"Huh?" Huang Feiyan didn't understand.
Su Xiao didn't explain, only saying, "You'll learn about it when you go to school. The knowledge involved can't be explained in just a few words."
Huang Feiyan became even more interested in the major she had applied for. She was determined to learn how to do business and make money if it could teach her.
"Then aren't you afraid that the old man will run away with our goods?"
"Haha, are you crazy?" Su Xiaozhen was amused by her. "Think about how much profit we make from pan-fried buns in the morning. The old man isn't stupid. Why would he give up a long-term way to make money and only make that one quick buck, cutting off his own path to wealth?"
Huang Feiyan chuckled and scratched her head. "Oh, right."
"Alright, let's go check out other places and try to sell the rest as well." Su Xiao switched the handle and said, "Hmm... let's buy another bicycle, otherwise, delivering large quantities will be too tiring."
