Chapter 333 Fracture

Chapter 333 Fracture

No amount of talking can put your mind at ease than seeing it with your own eyes.

Lanxin was well aware of this, and took the initiative to suggest it before the princess could speak. Seeing that the princess hesitated, she directly helped her to her feet and said, "Princess, if you really want to go, remember not to put weight on your right foot. We will help you go."

There were no wheelchairs in the army, let alone sedan chairs; this was the only way to get there.

Qi Yuxuan didn't want to be noticed, but she really wanted to see Qi Jun in person and ask the accompanying soldiers what had happened in Tianque Valley and why they were delayed until late at night to return to camp.

If she has to wait until tomorrow, she won't be able to sleep tonight.

With the help of Lanxin and Bihui, she crossed half of the military camp and arrived at the tent that had been specially set aside for the Crown Prince to rest in.

It was so dark that only a small area around the night watchman's basin could be vaguely seen.

As soon as Qi Yuxuan approached, before she could even have the guards go in to announce her arrival, she saw basins of blood being brought out.

In a panic, she grabbed the arm of one of the soldiers who was carrying a basin.

"What is this? Is the Crown Prince injured? Where is he injured?"

Upon seeing that it was Princess Chang Le, the soldier turned his head and glanced at the tent with a somewhat embarrassed expression:

"Princess, I don't know the extent of His Highness's injuries. The army doctor is still treating him. Why don't you ask the army doctor directly?"

After saying that, he kept his head down and hurried off to pour water and fetch more.

Lanxin had Bihui help the princess steady, then quickly stepped forward and explained her purpose to the soldiers guarding the door, only to see that they still looked hesitant.

“Miss, it’s not that I don’t want to go in and announce your arrival, but His Highness the Crown Prince has ordered that before the military doctor comes out, everyone except the necessary guards who need to go in to fetch water is not allowed to go in to visit. Please don’t make things difficult for me.”

Qi Yuxuan heard it.

Her unease grew stronger. The Crown Prince was injured, yet he issued such an order, clearly indicating that he did not want others to see the extent of his injuries. Did that mean that the Crown Prince was seriously injured?

Suddenly remembering something, she asked, "How are General Duan and General Xiahou? How many people were sent out this time, and how many returned?"

Upon hearing this question, Qi Yuxuan, who expected a quick answer, saw the guard's eyes instantly redden. He turned his head away, wiping away the tears he had managed to suppress but which were welling up again.

"This concerns military secrets, so I cannot speak of it. If Your Highness wishes to know, please wait for the military doctor to come out before asking His Highness."

Seeing his appearance, Qi Yuxuan's last bit of hope vanished instantly.

Without saying a word, she dragged her right foot forward two steps, trying to force her way in.

"Princess!" the guard and two maids called out in unison.

One reason was to prevent her from going in, and the other was to worry about the strain on her feet when walking.

Qi Yuxuan stared at the guard and said sternly, "I'm going in, and you can't stop me. Regardless of whether the Crown Prince will hold me accountable afterward, I will take full responsibility. Get out of here!"

The guard wanted to say something, but seeing the princess's firm attitude, he thought for a moment, then took a half step back and let her in.

Qi Yuxuan didn't let the maids help her and brushed their hands away. "I can walk these few steps by myself. You don't need to help me inside. Just wait outside."

“But Princess…” Lanxin said nervously.

She could also tell that the Crown Prince was probably not in good condition. What if the Princess couldn't bear it and there was no one inside to support her?

Qi Yuxuan patted her hand: "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. I'll just take a look and come out to check on the Crown Prince's injuries before I come out."

After saying that, she lifted the curtain and went inside.

Those inside the tents also heard the commotion at the entrance, but since the Crown Prince hadn't spoken, none of them dared to open their mouths.

The young man on the couch was shirtless, his jaw clenched, his eyes closed, and his forehead was covered in layers of cold sweat.

His fair and strong left arm, however, was twisted into a very strange shape between the upper arm and forearm, looking as if it were broken.

The senior doctor in the army was preparing to straighten his arm.

The old doctor could remain calm and composed when facing General Xiahou, but now, facing the Crown Prince's arm, he was so nervous that his palms were sweating profusely. He tried several times, but the more nervous he became, the more mistakes he made, and he couldn't succeed.

General Xiahou and the others standing nearby were so anxious that they dared not breathe, for fear that their breathing would affect the old doctor's technique.

Logically speaking, a doctor accompanying the army should be quite skilled at this kind of work and shouldn't be nervous or make a mistake. But what can he do when he's facing the Crown Prince's arm, who is the future emperor? He's just a mediocre old man in the army who specializes in treating sprains and bruises. What qualifications does he have to treat the Crown Prince?

The old doctor was extremely flustered. When he turned around, he saw another person coming, and it was Princess Chang Le, whom he couldn't afford to offend either. He broke out in a cold sweat.

"Princess, Princess." The old doctor even stammered a little.

Qi Jun suddenly opened his eyes and saw the little girl who had rushed in looking bewildered and incredulous. He then realized that he was not wearing anything on his upper body and that his arms were injured. He felt embarrassed and angry at the same time.

"I said no one is allowed to visit. Who has let the princess in!"

He could almost predict that once the girl realized what was happening, she would immediately hurl a torrent of abuse at him. Her attitude had been very clear when he saw her off from Tianque Valley that afternoon, and now that she saw him injured, she would definitely be even angrier, and also... heartbroken.

He didn't want to scare her.

"Guards! Quickly escort the princess out!"

"Who dares!" Qi Yuxuan shouted, and the guards who were about to come in and send the person out immediately froze in their tracks.

Although it came from the mouth of a young girl, its intimidating power was even more chilling than the words of the injured prince on his bed.

Xiahou Zhong immediately guessed what had happened between the two young men, and could only wearily try to reconcile them:

“Your Highness, the princess is also worried about your safety. This humble general believes that the princess is sensible and will not interfere with the military doctor’s treatment. Please let the princess stay here.”

General Xiahou spoke, and the other generals echoed his words. Qi Jun closed his eyes and finally uttered a sentence:

"Chang Le, stand back, don't look."

His arm—he was terrified the moment he saw it, let alone her?

The military doctor said that if he still has no feeling after his arm is straightened, he may become a disabled person who has lost his left hand.

Qi Jun couldn't imagine such a life; it was worse than death for him.

Qi Yuxuan stood still, neither moving forward nor backward. She stared intently at the old doctor, her tone icy and devoid of any warmth:

"Doctor, how is His Highness's injury?"

The old doctor wiped his sweat. "Your Highness's right hand is dislocated, and his left hand... his left hand is likely fractured. I'm about to try and set the bones for Your Highness to see if that will help..."

Qi Yuxuan: "How confident is the doctor?"

The old man became even more nervous, "There are, three, no, forty percent..."
