Anle explained with a smile.
"Of course not, yes, this toothpaste is what I'm going to sell."
"Once something that has never existed before is priced by someone else, and someone else has a preconceived notion of its market value, then I won't be able to control the market anymore." He paused, then laughed.
"However, I can sell this to him. I'll set the price, and they'll just sell it and get a cut of the profits."
An Ning stared blankly at An Le.
"Little sister, I don't understand what you mean?"
Anle stood on the kang (a heated brick bed) and gently stroked Anning's head like she was petting a puppy.
"It means that I have to decide the market price, and I can't let them buy and sell at will."
If the man guarding the mountain is willing, let him come and talk to me in person.
When it comes to doing business, I don't like to be casual.
An Ning was taken aback. "Why does it feel like this is a big deal to my little sister?"
Anle put on his coat and climbed off the kang (a heated brick bed). "Of course, when it comes to business, it's a big deal."
"Oh, then I'll go to the school today and tell Shoushan."
Looking at the meat buns, pickled vegetables, and boiled eggs on the dining table in the outer room, Anle sighed with satisfaction, "All my hard work these past few days has paid off! This food is finally pleasing to the eye."
Finally, we can eat normally again.
Just as she felt a little relieved, Qiao Qiuniang, completely hopeless, kept uttering those words with a pained expression while feeding An Kang rice porridge.
"What a waste of food this meal! Sigh—"
An Ning grinned as An Le whispered in his ear, "It's getting hot, and the food won't keep for long."
My mother was worried that the leftover meat buns from yesterday would spoil, so she heated them up and thought she'd heat up some wild vegetable pancakes as well.
"It was my older sister who, just as you said, secretly put ten eggs in the big pot when she was heating up the food."
Anle gave Anjing a look that said, "Well done, you're teachable."
"Mom, don't skimp on food from now on."
Isn't the point of making money to eat and drink well?
If you keep doing this, your little brother won't be able to grow properly.
And what about my second and third brothers? Look at them, so thin! You don't need to do the cooking anymore; let my eldest sister do it.
An Yi chewed on a meat bun, his eyes darting furtively towards An Le from time to time. He coughed lightly twice and mustered his courage to speak softly and weakly.
"Little sister, your third brother wants to eat meat."
Qiao Qiuniang glared at An Yi with a hint of reproach.
"What nonsense are you spouting, child? Food can't shut your mouth."
Anle nodded with a smile, "Okay, from now on, I'll make sure Third Brother eats meat at every meal. I'll buy some meat when I come back from town tomorrow."
"Oh, right, we have some free time today, so why don't we take advantage of this and go up the mountain to hunt some wild game to keep for ourselves?"
An Mancang paused, looked up at his excited little daughter, and opened his mouth.
"Lewa, today your father has to go to your third grandfather's place."
Your aunt is discussing her engagement today, and some guests are coming over, so she has to go and greet them. She doesn't have time to go into the mountains with you.
Anle waved her little hand dismissively, "It's okay, Dad, you can go with Grandpa. You don't need to come with me up the mountain. I'll go up the mountain by myself."
An Mancang frowned. "You can't go into the mountains by yourself. No way."
Anle smiled and said, "Dad, don't worry. There are a lot of people in the mountains lately. Many villagers are going into the mountains, either to dig for wild vegetables or to hunt."
"As long as I go into the mountains and hunt some game, like wild boar or roe deer, I'll have the villagers help me carry it back."
An Dalin frowned and said, "No way, this is too dangerous. How can I let a kid like you go into the mountains?"
Anle pouted, "Grandpa, you guys are so stubborn. If I go into the mountains, I'll just find people to team up with me. I'm sure many villagers would be happy to do that."
Having you guys accompany me into the mountains is the same as finding someone else to team up with, isn't it?
"As long as you offer enough benefits, no one will be unwilling to work with me. Wouldn't they all be lining up to do it?"
Anning nodded in agreement, "Grandpa, Dad, what my little sister said seems to make sense!"
You don't let her go into the mountains because you're afraid she'll encounter danger alone, right?
If we go into the mountains, why don't we just find some of the older folks from our village who have also gone into the mountains to team up with?
"My younger sister is definitely the smartest."
Anle grinned at Anning and chuckled, "What's wrong? You're not letting me come with my parents now?"
Anning pretended to pinch Anle's arm, "You brat, you're making fun of me again."
An Dalin nodded hesitantly, "That method might work."
After finally persuading the family, Anle carried a small bamboo basket on her back and trotted leisurely into the mountains with her short legs.
Once inside the mountains, amidst the tall grass, Anle calmly shot down two pheasants and tossed them into a bamboo basket before heading to find villagers nearby to hunt larger game together.
As she lifted her foot, a hand suddenly gripped Anle's slender ankle. Anle's face froze, turning deathly pale with fright. She stiffly and slowly turned her head to look at the large hand that was holding her from behind—
The sight of a blood-soaked figure terrified Anle, who let out a loud scream.
"Waaaaaahh ...
Instinctively, I wanted to kick away that big hand and get far away, but I couldn't break free from its grasp. The owner of that hand was incredibly strong.
What happened? What happened? What on earth happened?!
How did a blood-soaked person suddenly appear here?!
That scared the hell out of me!!
A million question marks were roaring in Anle's mind—
After being stunned and frozen for a few seconds...
Anle patted her chest, still shaken, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.
Mustering his courage, he kicked the bloodied man with his other foot. "Hey, hey... what happened to you?"
No, no response?
Could it be... that he/she is dead?
He stopped breathing?
He moved his bound feet and surprisingly broke free from the blood-soaked man's large hands.
"Dead?" Anle squatted down and carefully poked the blood man's face with his finger. The blood man groaned in response.
"Uh...you're quite responsive, aren't you?! You're not dead yet?!" But judging from the situation, you're probably about to die.
Scratching his head, Anle glanced around. The surroundings were overgrown with lush grass and thorns, so thick and tall that he couldn't see a single person.
"That shout just now didn't attract anyone. It seems there's no one around. What are we going to do with this blood-soaked person? Are we just going to watch him die here?"
This is a human life!
However, judging from his clothes, he doesn't seem to be from the village. Is he an outsider?
"Well, now is not the time to think about that. We need to find someone first."
As soon as he turned around and moved his foot, he was grabbed again.
