Chapter 14 Even eating pork for too long can get boring (Seeking monthly votes)

"Really? You're not lying to me, are you?" Xu Yuanyuan stood to the side, deliberately peeking into the cave. Even in broad daylight, she couldn't see clearly what was inside.

Even so, it's still much safer than being forced to stay and catch wild boars.

Xu Qingmo agreed, "Of course it's true, there are witnesses all here."

Fearing that Xu Qingmo might change her mind, Xu Yuanyuan placed the basket in the bushes behind a tree. Afraid of being discovered, she also pulled up some grass and spread it on the wild rabbit.

These two are her dinner tonight; she can't let anyone steal them.

With everything ready, Xu Yuanyuan waved her fist at Old Liu and the others, "These two rabbits are mine, and no one is allowed to take them away. Otherwise, I'll make you all suffer."

Old Liu told her to relax, "Although we are poor, we are not bad people. We would never take home and hide things that do not belong to us."

Xu Yuanyuan felt mocked and cursed at him a couple of times.

Old Liu's son urged, "Can you hurry up? It'll get dark soon and there will be more wild animals around. If you run into a wolf, no one will be able to save you."

Xu Yuanyuan is very fat; her body jiggles when she runs.

In addition, his leg injury made him run even slower.

Xu Yuanyuan glared at the other person, said nothing, and walked straight into the cave.

Her figure was quickly swallowed by the dim light in the cave, and Xu Qingmo reminded Old Man Liu and the others.

"Xu Yuanyuan will bring the wild boars out in a bit. Get your hunting rifles ready and kill as many as you can, while trying to ensure your own safety." Xu Qingmo was clear-headed and acted like the leader of the group, making reasonable arrangements for everything.

Although she is very young, the words she speaks are very reassuring.

Only then did Liu's son learn that the cave was actually a hiding place for wild boars.

Xu Yuanyuan has a chance to run away now.

"Good heavens, why are there so many wild boars? Xu Qingmo, you brat, you're afraid I'll survive, so you arranged for me to come in here to die..." A scream rang out, followed by the noisy sound of hooves pounding the ground inside the cave.

Xu Yuanyuan ran out cursing.

She was no longer limping like when she went in; now she was almost out of sight.

However, while she ran fast, the wild boar behind her ran even faster.

A total of seven or eight wild boars followed and ran out. The leader was an adult female wild boar, weighing about 200 pounds.

Medium and small wild boars followed behind.

It was estimated that the other wild boars had gone out to forage, leaving one big wild boar inside the burrow to guard the little ones.

Xu Qingmo wanted to help Xu Yuanyuan, but after hearing her cursing, she held the wooden stick in her hand and hesitated to move.

The wild boar seemed to be startled, and its sharp tusks pierced Xu Yuanyuan's buttocks.

"Ouch... Good heavens, my butt hurts so much..."

With a flick of its head, the wild boar sent Xu Qingmo flying two meters away into the open ground.

Fortunately, she was quite fleshy, which cushioned the fall and prevented her from getting hurt badly.

The smell of blood irritated the wild boar, and it pawed at the ground twice, preparing to attack Xu Yuanyuan again.

Xu Yuanyuan was so frightened that her pants were soaked. She cried out in panic, "Help! Help me! I don't want to die! Are you all dead? Why aren't you helping me?"

Old Liu raised his hunting rifle and aimed it at the wild boar's head. "Bang!" The shot rang out, but the bullet missed, only piercing the wild boar's ear.

The wild boar let out a joyful howl and immediately turned to look at Old Liu and the others.

It charged towards Old Liu and his companion with incredible speed, and Old Liu and Old Wang fired two more shots at the wild boar's head.

One shot missed, while the other pierced the wild boar's left eye. It charged at Old Liu like a madman.

Old Liu was getting on in years and didn't dodge in time. He was gored on the hind leg by the wild boar and knocked to the ground.

Xu Qingmo grabbed the wooden stick in her hand, leaped forward, and just a second before the wild boar could launch a second attack on Old Liu, the stick burst into flames and pierced through its throat from the back of its neck.

Before the wild boar could even howl, it collapsed in front of Old Liu.

It was like a small mountain, and the ground rippled with its aftershocks.

Old Liu broke out in a cold sweat. He had a premonition that if Xu Qingmo hadn't arrived in time, he would have been crippled even if he didn't die today.

"Dad, are you alright?" Old Liu's son broke out in a cold sweat and rushed forward to check on his father.

Old Liu scraped his calf, and blood kept flowing. Fortunately, it was just a superficial wound, and it would be fine after a while.

He shook his head. "I'm fine. Go and kill two of the other wild boars."

Old Liu's son picked up a gun, and together with Old Wang and his son, the three of them killed a medium-sized wild boar and a small wild boar.

The two wild boars together weighed about 120 to 130 pounds.

Even though it wasn't as heavy as the wild boar that Xu Qingmo killed, the group was still very happy.

The remaining wild boars scattered and fled.

Once it was finally safe, Old Wang gave Xu Qingmo a deep look. The energy she had just unleashed, and the way she had pierced the throat of a wild boar with a wooden stick, was something he couldn't have done even in his prime.

A five-year-old girl can be so amazing.

Old Wang firmly believes that Xu Qingmo's ability to hunt wild boar alone last time was not due to good luck.

It was their strength that made them successful.

Xu Qingmo pulled the basket out of the bushes, and Old Liu's son took the basket and carried it on his back.

Xu Qingmo did not refuse the other party's kindness. She walked to the adult wild boar, picked up one of its hooves, and carried it forward.

The group was so shocked they couldn't close their mouths. The wild boar, weighing over 200 pounds, was something that even two strong men struggled to carry, yet Xu Qingmo dragged it away with just one hand, and it looked incredibly easy.

Old Wang and his son carried the two wild boars, one large and one small, on their backs, with his son carrying him on his back, as they walked down the mountain together.

Having witnessed many strange things in the mountains, everyone refrained from asking any further questions.

Xu Yuanyuan was left behind, and no one cared.

It took her a while to recover before she awkwardly got up, muttering curses at Xu Qingmo in a low voice, afraid that Xu Qingmo would hear her if she spoke too loudly.

Old Liu told his son to walk faster so that he could walk side by side with Xu Qingmo.

Old Liu struck up a conversation with Xu Qingmo, "Momo, how are you feeling right now? Are you tired?"

Xu Qingmo replied, "Not tired."

She was indeed not tired. The spiritual spring water that Wang Jing gave her improved her physical fitness extremely quickly and effectively. She could even go back now and hunt two adult wild boars without any problem.

Old Liu spoke again, "Mo Mo, would you be interested in joining us to hunt wild boars and wolves?"

Xu Qingmo tilted her head and asked curiously, "Is wolf meat delicious?"

Her body needed to eat a lot of meat to replenish energy, although in the 1970s, being able to eat wild boar meat every meal was a sign of a wealthy family's life.

But if you eat it every day, at every meal, you'll still get tired of it.

Changing the flavor isn't a bad idea.

Old Liu and his son were both shocked. Xu Qingmo's first reaction was not fear, but to ask if it tasted good.

Sure enough, she still has the heart of a child.
