Gu Huai is a widower in Hexi Village with a child. He usually makes a living by hunting.
His mother was Fan who had just arrived. He also had an older brother, Gu Ping, a younger brother, Gu An, and a younger sister, Gu Lan, who were still in the boudoir.

The little guy saw his mother finish drinking it and smiled happily, "That's great, Mom, you finished drinking it. Is it bitter?"
Xie Yunjiao nodded, and waves of bitter taste came from the tip of her tongue.
Doudou didn't say anything, but took out a paper bag from his pocket and said excitedly, "Mom, look, this is the roasted sweet potato that Grandma Tian next door secretly gave me. It's still warm."
As the little fellow spoke, he carefully opened the oil paper and placed the sweet potato in Xie Yunjiao's hand like a treasure. "Mom, eat it while it's hot. This roasted sweet potato is delicious. You just took the medicine, and it can just help to relieve the bitterness."
