Chapter 476 Late at night, another round of attacks

Grandma Pearl made them roasted fruits using local ingredients. Although the surface of the fruit was burnt black, when you broke it open, you would see white flesh inside. It tasted soft and a little sweet, just like toast.

Tears flowed from the corners of Xie Yunjiao's mouth. She ate one and then another.

It was great to have something to fill her stomach in such a desolate mountain area, not to mention that she also ate some delicious "toast"!

Sometimes the simpler the original flavor, the more addictive it is. Xie Yunjiao thought that after she solved the problem with Bei Ming, she would ask Grandma Zhenzhu to take some trees with this magical fruit back to Hexi Village in Jiuzhou to plant. She just didn't know whether the changes in geographical location and climate would affect its taste.

After everyone had filled their stomachs, they went to bed. In the second half of the night, Xie Yunjiao was awakened by the sound of footsteps.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she looked around and saw Gu Huai and Jing Kai, who were supposed to take turns watching the fire, standing back to back in the camp, looking warily at the distance.

Xie Yunjiao followed Gu Huai's gaze and saw a pair of eyes glowing green, which frightened her whole body.

"Yun Jiao, are you awake? Don't be afraid, nothing will happen with us here." Gu Huai said.

Xie Yunjiao said to them, "Be careful." She thought that since she was already awake and she was no longer sleepy in this situation, she might as well let her help watch the fire.

"What are you doing? Just keep an eye on the fire. They are afraid of fire and won't come over." Grandma Pearl suddenly said.

Through the firelight, Xie Yunjiao accidentally met the cloudy eyes of Grandma Zhenzhu. The sudden eye contact made her heart tighten.

She adjusted herself, and when she looked at Grandma Pearl again, she felt that the nervousness she had just felt might have been just an illusion.

Although Grandma Pearl said so, Gu Huai and Jing Kai could not relax because they felt that those things did not leave, but were slowly approaching.

They are testing!

Suddenly, a monster that looked like a wolf but was bigger than a wolf and had a mouth full of fangs rushed towards them!

Gu Huai was a hunter in the past and had seen a lot of prey in the mountains. Although wolves were ferocious and would attack people, encountering them would only lead to death.

But when the monster appeared in front of him, his heart still tightened.

He quickly kicked up a piece of burning firewood, which hit the monster, and the monster wailed and took a few steps back.

But it didn't leave. Instead, it made a strange sound, as if calling its companions.

At this moment, Xie Yunjiao was no longer sleepy and even had goose bumps all over her body!

The torches that Granny Pearl had them prepare seemed to be ineffective, and the monsters seemed to be about to attack them.

"Grandma Zhenzhu, what should we do now?" Xie Yunjiao looked at Grandma Zhenzhu and asked.

The ease on Grandma Pearl's face was long gone, and now her face was full of panic.

She muttered, "I don't know. Have these things gone crazy today? Why aren't they afraid of torches?"

This was the first time that Grandma Pearl encountered such a situation. She wondered if she would die here today.

At this moment, several companions came running to the monster.

Their front paws were leaning forward, their bodies slightly arched, as if they were about to attack them.

"Jing Kai, knife."

Xie Yunjiao sharpened the axe and threw it to Jing Kai. Jing Kai looked at the axe on the ground and the corner of his mouth twitched.

His sword had sunk with the swamp monster, and now he was left without a proper weapon, so he had to make do with a rusty axe.

Just as he picked up the axe, the monsters pounced on them.

Gu Huai had a soft sword on him, and he stabbed at the monsters.

The monster rushing in front had its leg scratched by Gu Huai's sword, and blood gushed out instantly.

But instead of retreating, the injured creature became even more excited after smelling the blood. It opened its mouth wide, revealing its fangs, and pounced towards Gu Huai.

Gu Huai was forced to take a few steps back.

Jing Kai on the side was not in a much better situation. He was holding an axe, but he was not very good at using it, and his arm was soon scratched by the monster's claws.

Smelling the blood on Jing Kai, the monsters rushed towards Jing Kai excitedly.

Jing Kai heard the sound of a whip cutting through the air. He knew it was Xie Yunjiao coming to help him, but he didn't want to bother with Xie Yunjiao. He shouted at her, "Get back quickly! I don't need your help!"

Xie Yunjiao waved the whip in her hand and said to Jing Kai, "I'm not helping you, I'm solving the problem for everyone."

Xie Yunjiao's whip was coated with the powder given by Grandma Zhenzhu. When she swung it on the monsters, bloodstains appeared on their bodies, and they showed painful expressions and actually took a few steps back.

Seeing that this method was effective, Xie Yunjiao walked in front of Jing Kai to block him, and handed the powder to him from behind: "Apply this powder, those monsters are afraid of it."

Jing Kai took the powder and said, "If it's useful, why didn't you take it out just now?"

Xie Yunjiao replied, "Grandma Pearl didn't expect these monsters today to be unafraid of fire. She didn't prepare any powder to deal with them. This is something she concocted on the spur of the moment."

She glanced in the direction of Gu Huai. Grandma Pearl also gave him some medicine powder. After being injured, the monsters finally stopped fighting and ran away.

After this battle, everyone was exhausted and wished they could stick to the ground so that they could rest all the time.

But it is still dark and there is still endless darkness as far as the eye can see.

They were not sure whether the monsters would come back.

So they didn't dare to sleep and could only keep their eyes open and wait for the dawn.

After waiting for a long time until dawn, they finally couldn't hold on any longer and fell down one after another.

But Gu Huai didn't dare close his eyes, because he was afraid that there would be other dangers besides those monsters.

Xie Yunjiao couldn't hold on any longer. Her body hadn't recovered well yet. She lay on the ground, closed her eyes and fell asleep.

When Xie Yunjiao woke up, the sun had already risen. It was so dazzling and so exciting.

"Now that you're all awake, let's continue on our journey," said Grandma Pearl.

Xie Yunjiao got up from the ground, feeling like her whole body was falling apart, especially her arms which were extremely sore.

"I never thought that dealing with those things is more tiring than dealing with people." Xie Yunjiao couldn't help but mutter.

It would be nice if I could drink some spiritual spring water to replenish my strength at this time.

But the space cannot be opened.

Just when Xie Yunjiao thought that endless attacks were waiting for her, they met Pearl Grandma's tribe on the road.

A sweet-looking young girl and a young man.
