Chapter 108 The First Cigarette Offered

Wen Yi sneered, turned around and walked to a more secluded spot outside the film set, sent a message to Wen Ge, and told her that she would be there in two or three minutes.

This also serves as a reminder to Wen Ge to be more careful when talking to Xia Xiaomeng, and not to say anything irrelevant that might cause Wen Yi to hear things she shouldn't.

After sending the message, Wen squatted down beside her, thinking about how her grandparents had been brought to the capital. The most urgent thing was to find a way to send them back as soon as possible.

Wen Yi knew very well that her maternal grandparents, like her paternal grandparents, didn't really like the fast-paced life in Haicheng and preferred to live their own quiet lives in the countryside.

After all, the old folks had lived in this place for almost their entire lives, and they didn't want things to change in their old age. This time, their mother must have said a lot of bad things about Wen Yi, which is why the two old folks rushed to Haicheng in such a hurry.

Wen Yi felt quite guilty.

She can't do anything right, and she doesn't make any arrangements, which is why the two elderly people, who are so old, still have to run around like this.

"Want one?"

Just as Wen Yi was thinking of going out, a thin wisp of smoke suddenly appeared in front of him.

Wen was taken aback and looked up to find a man standing next to her.

The man was still wearing his costume from the play, dressed in white, standing tall with a face like a jade crown.

Stern words.

Wen only met the male lead of the drama "Sword and Qin" once, at the opening ceremony of the drama. However, the man's appearance was too sharp, with deep and strong features, which was a face that was very suitable for period dramas.

Wen Yi was surprised that he would offer her a cigarette.

Wen Yi was completely taken aback. He should have refused her, but deep down he didn't want to, and even inexplicably accepted Yan Li's cigarette.

Yan Li bent down, his long hair falling naturally, and lit a cigarette for her.

"Thank you." Wen Yi said somewhat awkwardly.

Yan Li turned his head, smiled slightly, and said, "You're too kind."

He stood up, lit a thin cigarette, stared straight ahead, and silently began to smoke.

Yan Li didn't pay much attention to Wen Yi's existence.

It's just a normal thing: I bumped into someone while I was out smoking, and we shared a cigarette, that's all.

Wen Yi didn't think too much about it. He lowered his head and took a puff of his cigarette, but the minty taste made him cough violently. He coughed so hard that tears streamed down his face.

"You don't smoke?" Yan Li handed Wen Yi a tissue.

Wen Yi wiped away her tears and lied, "It's not that I don't know how to smoke, I, I just haven't smoked anything stronger than this before, the mint flavor is too strong."

Yan Li chuckled, "The thin cigarette is too weak. Adding some mint will enhance the cooling sensation and help to refresh the mind."

“Then you can smoke a stronger one,” Wen said. “Isn’t it said that slim cigarettes are for women?”

"Who decided that slim cigarettes must be women's cigarettes?"

Wen Yi was speechless when asked that question.

She didn't know much about cigarettes, only some common sayings and everyday conversations, such as slim cigarettes being considered women's cigarettes, which carried a kind of implicit acceptance.

However, Wen Yi had seen men smoke thin cigarettes before, and that light and breezy feeling actually gave off a strong sense of aloofness.

For example, Yan Li, who is currently smoking.

“As you said, there’s no rule that men can’t smoke cigarettes,” Wen Yi smiled. “But there’s also no rule that if you cough on the first puff, you definitely can’t smoke.”

Wen Yi held it in her mouth, taking a light, shallow drag.

"Are you imitating someone who smokes?" Yan Li suddenly asked.

Wen Yi froze as he was smoking.

Whom are we imitating?

When she smoked, her mind was filled with images of Gu Huaixu smoking, with very detailed scenes playing out repeatedly in her mind.

So subconsciously, you'll learn from his behavior.

"No," Wen Yi denied.

She lowered her head and continued smoking without saying anything, and Yan Li, understanding the situation, also refrained from saying anything.

One cigarette and it's over.

"Thank you for the cigarette." Wen stood up. "I have to go now, I need to start the machine soon."

Yan Li nodded, which was his way of responding to Wen Yi.

Wen Yi left the place and walked straight towards Wen Ge's lounge.

Wen Yi saw from afar that Wen Ge had already changed her makeup, hair, and clothes and was standing at the door looking around anxiously. As soon as she saw Wen Yi coming over, she looked like she had seen a lifeline.

"Sister, you've come!"

Wen Ge rushed over and grabbed Wen Yi's hand, on the verge of tears. "I thought you weren't coming. I didn't know what I would do if I had to face all this alone."

“I believe that you can manage all of this without me, little sister.” Wen Yi grabbed Wen Ge’s hand in return. “After all, in my eyes, little sister is intelligent and quick-witted, capable of handling anything, and much better than me.”

Wen Ge was still somewhat surprised by Wen Yi's response.

I feel like Wen Yi has become really amazing lately.

One minute they're being sharp-tongued and they'll immediately retort with anything someone says.

And then one minute they'll be like this again, showering you with compliments.

At this moment, the script supervisor came over to remind everyone that there were only three minutes left to prepare and all the actors needed to be in position.

The script supervisor specifically reminded Wen Ge, "Sister Wen, you absolutely cannot ask the director team for leave again to delay the schedule. They're already starting to get upset, saying that you've slowed down the progress a lot."

Wen Ge turned around and gave Xia Xiaomeng, who was standing at the door, a wink.

Xia Xiaomeng immediately stepped forward and gave the script supervisor a red envelope, saying, "Thank you for the reminder, sir. Our Sister Wen knows what to do next."

The script supervisor readily accepted the red envelope, saying, "You guys be careful, be on time, someone over there is unhappy."

The script supervisor left after giving the instructions.

Wen Yi took all of this into account. It seemed that Wen Ge had taken care of almost everything that could be managed on set.

"Sister, we're about to start here." Wen Ge held Wen Yi's hand, looking very nervous.

Wen Yi patted Wen Ge's hand, "Don't worry, I'll make all the arrangements and make sure this scene is done in one take."

"Really?" Wen Ge exclaimed in surprise.

Xia Xiaomeng stepped forward and said, "Wen Ge has also put some soft cloth in there to prevent Lin Manqing from causing trouble, so that the whip can hit her skin and cause injury."

Wen reminded him expressionlessly, "Remove all of those, otherwise it will affect the aesthetics, and if the director notices anything amiss, we'll have to do it all over again, which is not worth it."

"But……"

Xia Xiaomeng was not quite in agreement, but Wen Ge stopped her, saying, "I'll listen to my sister."

She turned back and smiled at Wen Yi, "I believe my sister will protect me and won't let anything happen to me."

"You go first, I'll go over there to prepare."

Wen Yi said indifferently, ignoring Wen Ge, and walked towards the filming location.

With the final countdown underway, the crew is busy at work, and the director and actors are all ready to go.

Meanwhile, another group of fans were arranged to enter through the other passage to visit the set.

As Lin Manqing entered, she bumped into Wen Yi. The two walked side by side. "You arranged these fans?"

Lin Manqing spoke arrogantly, "Do you think arranging these fans will stop me from messing with that innocent girl?"
