Chapter 193 Loneliness

Wen Yi, having received no response from Gu Zeyu, asked again, "Young Master Gu, are you busy?"

"Oh, I have one," Gu Zeyu said hastily, realizing what was happening. "Tomorrow night."

"Okay, see you tomorrow night," Wen Yi replied, then hung up the phone.

She then tossed her phone aside, turned her gaze back to the window, and silently watched.

After a long pause, Xiao Kongkong's voice finally rang out, "Second Madam, may I ask a question?"

"You want to ask me why I suddenly took the initiative to ask Young Master Gu out." Wen Yi didn't look at Xiao Kongkong, but she knew that Xiao Kongkong would eventually ask these questions.

But Xiao Kongkong wanted to express more than just that.

"You still want to ask why I kept avoiding Young Master Gu before? It was because I was afraid that Madam Gu would think that I was entangled with Young Master Gu and start to deal with me. Now you want to take the initiative to meet with Young Master Gu."

Xiao Kongkong sighed, "Madam is truly intelligent."

Wen Yi chuckled and turned to look at Xiao Kongkong. “Because there are some things I need to confirm with Young Master Gu. It would be better if I confirmed with Madam Gu, but Gu Zeyu is easier to deal with than Madam Gu. I can get more accurate information from Gu Zeyu.”

The most difficult person to deal with in the Gu family is Madam Gu.

When it comes to playing mind games, being clever, and having a keen sense of smell, Wen Yi appears somewhat naive in front of Madam Gu. If he were to confront Madam Gu directly, he would not only fail to obtain more accurate information but might also alert her.

“But if that’s the case, isn’t the Second Madam worried about rumors of an entanglement with Young Master Gu?” Xiao Kongkong asked with concern. “And what about the Second Master?”

"The rumors of entanglement between Mrs. Gu and Young Master Gu are causing Mrs. Gu some trouble."

"Does the Second Madam mean that the Second Master seems to have no concerns?" Xiao Kongkong couldn't help but ask.

Wen smiled and asked, "What are your concerns?"

A cooperative marital relationship.

She had already been frank with Second Master Gu, telling him that she had someone she loved very much, and that since their relationship had progressed to this point, there was no need to worry about anything else.

Unless Wen Yi's behavior affects Master Gu's reputation, there is nothing else to worry about.

Moreover, Wen Yi still needs to ask Second Master Gu for help regarding the matter of whether Gu Huaixu is truly dead or not.

"The relationship between the second wife and the second master is very strange."

Xiao Kongkong stared at Wen for a long time before finally giving this result.

Wen Yi chuckled, "I also find it strange, but that's exactly how it happened."

In fact, Wen Yi thought that marrying into the Royal Garden would be the beginning of a nightmare, and that even survival would be a problem.

However, the result was that the Imperial Garden was just as rumored to be a devil's den. But in the Imperial Garden, Wen Yi, who had initially been prejudiced against it, later felt free and at ease.

I felt a comfort I had never experienced before at the Wen family home.

Even now, she has become a partner with the rumored devilish Second Master, which is quite amazing.

Wen Yi leaned back in her chair, staring at the endless road ahead, and chuckled softly, "Kong Kong, you might be surprised to learn that you are the first friend I can actually talk to in my life."

Xiao Kongkong stared at Wen Yi in surprise, astonished by Wen Yi's words. "How could that be?"

“When I was a child in my hometown, people approached me only because my parents were making money outside and currying favor with them. In reality, they secretly called me an abandoned wild child. Since then, I have never made any friends.”

I've always been a lone wolf.

Her single-minded pursuit of outstanding achievements, her independence and solitude, were all for the sake of gaining her parents' approval, for them to say that Wen Yi was also excellent, no less so than Wen Ge.

But in reality, all of this recognition that Wen Yi has been pursuing is a joke.

"The Second Madam is intelligent and kind, and she is always able to observe many details. It is my honor to be a friend of the Second Madam. Those who cannot be friends with the Second Madam must have regrets in their lives."

“Sometimes I really appreciate your tolerance.” Wen turned her head and smiled at Xiao Kongkong.

She knew that Xiao Kongkong's words contained some flattery, but it was precisely because of Xiao Kongkong's words that Wen Yi's sudden sense of loneliness was soothed.

Xiao Kongkong said she was smart, but in reality, Wen Yi felt that Xiao Kongkong was the truly smart and insightful person.

"It's not that I'm being tolerant, it's just that I admire the Second Madam's intelligence and talent," Xiao Kongkong said truthfully, his expression sincere.

Wen laughed.

Xiao Kongkong said, "I hope I can always be a friend that the Second Madam can talk to, and I also hope that the Second Madam will not be lonely."

Xiao Kongkong spoke the last sentence very softly.

She could see the loneliness in Wen Yi's heart.

Previously, due to her identity, even though Yu Ting Yuan had thoroughly investigated Wen Yi's situation, Xiao Kong Kong didn't dare to say much in front of Wen Yi.

Especially regarding Wen Yi's single-minded pursuit of anything from his parents to gain their recognition of his excellence, Xiao Kongkong felt that this was Wen Yi's obsession and the belief he upheld.

Without this conviction, Wen Yi might not have been able to achieve such excellence and endure so many lonely times.

Xiao Kongkong reached out and pressed on Wen Yi's shoulder; it felt quite heavy.

Wen smiled at her. There was no need to express gratitude in words; a gesture or a glance was enough.

"Alright, it's late, time to go back to sleep, I'm so tired," Wen Yi said.

Xiao Kongkong nodded and withdrew his hand.

Wen started the car and headed straight for Yutingyuan.

When Wen Yi's car arrived, Luo Yi opened the door for him. He was slightly surprised to see Xiao Kongkong sitting in the passenger seat when Wen Yi drove the car, but he didn't show it too much.

"Second Madam, Second Master is in his room upstairs," Luo Yi reminded her.

Xiao Kongkong glanced at Wen Yi with some concern.

Wen Yi's expression was quite indifferent; she didn't seem to have any particular thoughts on the matter. She simply nodded slightly and then walked upstairs to her room.

Halfway there, Wen Yi suddenly turned around and looked at Luo Yi.

"Does the Second Madam have any further instructions?" Luo Yi asked.

Wen opened her mouth, but ultimately shook her head. "It's nothing."

She turned and walked upstairs to her room.

The reason Wen Yi looked back at Luo Yi was mainly because ever since Luo Yi tried to secretly kill Wen Yi, Wen Yi had noticed that he saw Luo Yi much more frequently in the Imperial Garden.

Upon reflection, she realized that Luo Yi was handling many of her affairs, especially small things like opening car doors, which were not Luo Yi's responsibility in the first place.

Wen Yi had wanted to ask this question when she turned around, but then she thought that if she did, she would have to choose her words carefully, otherwise it would be very troublesome.

After thinking it over, Wen Yi decided to give up.

Love may appear, but that's between Master Gu, Luo Yi, and the Imperial Garden. It has nothing to do with her. There's no need to waste her time and energy on it and create trouble.

Wen Yi quickened her pace and went upstairs.

According to Luo Yi, Master Gu was in the room, and Wen Yi also had something to discuss with Master Gu.
