"What are you saying? How could your brother-in-law treat your sister badly? I've heard that he dotes on your sister, to the point of spoiling her in every way." As she spoke, Mother Wen deliberately glanced at Second Master Gu.
Wen Ge shook her head, "Mom, you're joking."
"If you don't believe me, ask your brother-in-law," Wen's mother said deliberately.
Wen Ge looked up at Master Gu, "Is it true, brother-in-law?"
The restaurant suddenly fell silent, overwhelmed by the question.
Wen Yi leaned back in her chair, watching the whole drama unfold between Wen Ge and her mother.
She thought that after this question, the Wen family would finally reveal the real purpose of the dinner.
Wen Yi was still thinking that, based on his previous understanding, it was a bit unusual that the banquet had not yet gotten to the main topic.
As Wen Yi was thinking, she felt the man beside her reach out and naturally put his hand on her shoulder.

After Wen's mother and Wen Ge sat down, they said nothing more.
Father Wen poured wine for Second Master Gu and chatted with him about wine.
Wen Yi had been waiting for the Wen family to get down to business, but the conversation had drifted off-topic and they hadn't mentioned the purpose of tonight's visit, which Wen Yi found very strange.
This was definitely not a simple dinner party.
