Wen Ge held Wen Yi's hand and said earnestly, "You are my sister. I love you and I hope you are doing well. Since Young Master Gu has taken a liking to you, you should try to seize any opportunity you have."

It was my mother's voice.

The mother brought in a bowl of soup. "There's been a lot going on at home lately, and you don't look well. I had the kitchen make you some fish soup."
As she spoke, she placed the fish soup on the table and pulled up a chair, saying, "Come and sit down."
Wen Yi sat on the bed without making any other movements.
The mother urged, but her voice was gentle, "Come quickly, the fish soup will get fishy if it gets cold."
Wen got up and sat down in the chair, picked up a spoon and quietly drank the fish soup.
The mother stroked Wen Yi's head, "It's only in the blink of an eye that you've grown up so much. When you were first born, the family business was just starting out, so we neglected to take care of you. I've always felt guilty about that."
Wen Yi remained silent and continued drinking the fish soup.
"There are no parents in the world who don't love their children. It's just that as parents, we always need to make arrangements for our children's future. Wenyi, I know you can understand your mother's good intentions, right?"
Wen Yiben had been drinking fish soup, but upon hearing this, he slowly opened his eyes and looked at his mother.
Her grip on the spoon tightened.
