Chapter 42 Why does nobody love me?

Wen smiled bitterly. Alcohol makes people lose their minds; they either do bad things when they're drunk or they hallucinate due to blurred vision.

She was physically excited, but her mind remained perfectly clear.

Looking down at the time, there were still about ten minutes until the person from Jinlumen was scheduled to pick me up.

She thought that if she got a little more drunk, she wouldn't have hallucinations and wouldn't miss Ah Xu so much.

Wen Yi closed her eyes, wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes with her fingers, picked up her wine glass and drank several glasses in a row in a hushed voice. She was already swaying, and in the end she started to float away.

But it's so strange.

The first time I drank alcohol, I got so drunk I was completely unconscious.

I drank so much today, I feel lightheaded, but my mind is incredibly clear.

Just now I thought it was an illusion that Gu Huaixu was sitting in the opposite booth with two women on his left and right, but now I can see clearly that it's not an illusion.

The man in the booth opposite him was wearing a black shirt with three buttons undone, revealing glimpses of his chest muscles. His long legs were casually stretched out as he leaned back on the sofa, lazily glancing sideways at the people who were constantly approaching him.

Gu Huaixu's face is simply the epitome of wealth and beauty. The beauties in the booth are all stunning, naturally beautiful, and have exceptional charisma, yet they all pale in comparison to Gu Huaixu.

This is nothing more than indulging in sensual pleasures.

Wen Yi clutched her heart, wondering why it hurt so much.

She looked away from drinking, trying to numb herself, trying to make herself sober, but the more she tried to get drunk, the less she could.

The more I drink, the more sober I become.

The more you drink, the clearer you can see the scene in front of you.

Gu Huaixu was surrounded by many beautiful women, young, pretty, proactive, enthusiastic, lively, and always smiling.

Every girl seemed better than him to Wen Yi.

Wen thought it was a good thing to draw a clear line early, at least it wouldn't delay others. It was a mistake in itself, so why prolong it?

Wen Yi smiled bitterly and finished the last glass of wine.

The people from Jinlumen who had been arranged to come hadn't arrived yet, so Wen Yi scanned the code to pay and planned to go to the hotel to sleep. He would deal with everything else tomorrow.

Get a good night's sleep first.

Wen Yi was afraid she wouldn't be able to bear it, so she didn't even look in Gu Huaixu's direction again before getting up and leaving.

That was quite decisive.

As Wen Yi stepped out of the bar, a cool breeze blew by, and the alcohol hit her hard. She suddenly became very drunk, her steps were unsteady, and she could barely walk.

Wen Yi leaned against the wall, preparing to call the police; she was in great danger.

However, just as Wen Yi was about to reach for her phone, her wrist was grabbed.

Wen was startled and looked up to meet a pair of familiar eyes.

It is deep and mysterious, like a whirlpool that can drown you.

Wen Yi was stunned.

The other person sighed, "You really have no conscience at all."

After he finished speaking, he emphasized, "Not even a little bit."

And, he repeated clearly and again, "Heartless!"

Wen Yi stared at him, unable to react for a moment.

Until Gu Huaixu's face came close to hers, until the icy kiss landed, carrying punishment, venting anger, and a great deal of dissatisfaction.

Wen Yi was so dizzy from the kiss that she felt disoriented.

I wasn't drunk inside the bar, but after coming out for some fresh air, I was kissed so forcefully that I passed out.

She nestled limply in Gu Huaixu's arms.

"I……"

Wen Yi was about to speak, but she was so dizzy that she fell asleep in Gu Huaixu's arms.

Gu Huaixu was quite helpless.

The hand that was originally raised to hold Wen Yi's head and kiss him again ended up hanging in mid-air, before finally slowly landing on the back of Wen Yi's head and gently patting it.

Gu Huaixu took Wen Yi away.

The top-floor room at Jinlumen has become their usual haunt.

Whispering sweet nothings to each other.

Wen Yi slept obediently the whole way up from where Gu Huaixu brought her.

As soon as they entered the room, the people started making a ruckus. Gu Huaixu, who had been keeping a straight face, suddenly laughed, thinking that Wen Yi was sensible, even when she was drunk, she chose the right time.

Wen felt dizzy, her heart was pounding, and she was inexplicably excited.

Especially when standing in a familiar room, the sense of security is suddenly released, and people want to let go.

"Ah Xu," she suddenly called out.

He turned around and looked everywhere for Gu Huaixu, but couldn't find him.

"Ah Xu, where did you go, Ah Xu?" Wen Yi called out, heading towards the bathroom and then searching the dressing room. "Where's my Ah Xu? Where did my Ah Xu go?"

Gu Huaixu, who had been standing behind Wen Yi, wanted to call out to Wen Yi, but when he heard Wen Yi call out "My A-Xu," Gu Huaixu suddenly stopped.

After searching around and finding no one, Wen simply sat down on the ground.

"My Ah Xu is gone..."

Wen Yi murmured softly, sounding quite aggrieved, her eyes red-rimmed.

Looking up at the familiar room, she thought, "My Ah Xu is gone. It was me... who caused his death."

Gu Huaixu leaned against the wall, his arms crossed, staring at Wen Yi, who was sitting on the ground looking quite helpless. He opened his mouth and said, "Well, Ah Xu is gone. You don't want him."

"I didn't say I didn't want it!" Wen Yi shouted angrily. "Ah Xu is so well-behaved, obedient, and considerate. How could I not want her? Don't talk nonsense!"

"You were the one who said you would no longer contact them."

"That's because I didn't want to hold Xu back!" Wen Yi said angrily. "What do you know?"

"I don't understand."

Gu Huaixu stepped forward, squatted down in front of Wen Yi, and wiped away the tears on her face. "So, sister, do you want to explain to me?"

Wen stared at him blankly, "My heart is cold."

She gave an irrelevant answer, clutching her heart, "Tell me, why?"

"What?"
