After finishing their meal, it was almost time for class. The six of them got up and went back.
Wu Yue and Yan Chiyu walked at the back, and started talking about Mi Jing again.
“Song Suian came fifteen years ago. Why don’t we ask him? He should know quite a lot.”
"Okay. I'll go with you to the Song family after school this afternoon."
The boy had many things he wanted to say but didn't.
For example, in Song Suian's memory, the Wu family was just a small family that did not engage in any witchcraft or spells.
For example, there was no such person as Wu Yue in his memory.
After school in the afternoon, because I was going to visit the Song family, I gave Song Wenzhi a ride.
Song Wenzhi was always chattering and quite noisy. However, among this group of quiet people, he was a good peacemaker.
"Brother Yan, Wu Yue, don't you know, today Lunzi ran into that girl named Jing?"
Wu Yue: "Mi Jing."
Song Wenzhi continued, "Yes, yes, after that girl named Mi Jing, he's been acting completely out of sorts in class all day. When you ask him what's wrong, he just says nothing's wrong. I really don't know what's wrong with him. Could it be that he's fallen for that girl?"
He thought for a moment and then said, "Although Mi Jing isn't as pretty as Wu Yue and Yun Wei, she's still quite good-looking. Especially her eyes, they're so expressive. That's why they say the eyes are the windows to the soul."
Song Wenzhi leaned against the passenger seat, staring intently at Wu Yue and Yan Chiyu, hoping they would respond to him.
The boy lazily raised his eyelids to look at him, his tone languid and disappointed: "Stop worrying about others and take care of yourself first. Of the two Song family kids, you're the most dissolute. Don't you have any self-awareness?"
"..."
Hearing this, Song Wenzhi pouted in grievance and turned her gaze to Wu Yue. "Wu Yue, tell me, can't I even gossip a little on the way home from the car? Do I have to be writing in the '53' textbook every day? This is just too inhumane. Students are people too, and they need to rest too."
"You've misunderstood. Yan Chiyu means..."
Wu Yue explained, "This matter is not as simple as you think, and I hope you will not get involved."
"What do you mean?" Song Wenzhi interrupted her. "Is that Mi Jing some kind of demon or monster? Or is she a spirit from the mountains and seas like your Lu Shu?"
"This is outside your jurisdiction, so don't ask."
"No way! Lunzi is my brother, his business is my business, and his fans are practically my fans too. I have to know what happened."
Yan Chiyu squinted at him, "Why don't you go investigate yourself? And then go back to see your grandfather covered in blood?"
The boy sat up straight, his back tense, and his expression was slightly displeased.
Song Wenzhi and Song Suian were born weak, but this weakness was not due to a physical illness, but rather related to the magnetic field of the Yellow Springs that year.
After raising them to adulthood with such difficulty, it would be fatal for them to encounter something like this again.
He tried to stop them, but the two of them just kept going.
If it weren't for Mr. Chen Tuan's help, Song Suian would probably have already lost his soul. How could he possibly return to the Song family to live a carefree life?
Song Suian was lucky, but Song Wenzhi, that unlucky kid, instead of trying to avoid these things, just liked to go for them. He really wanted to knock him unconscious with a gourd.
Even now, Song Wenzhi still wears the amulet given to him by Yan Chiyu around his neck, hidden inside his clothes.
Feeling the intense gaze directed at him, Song Wenzhi was suddenly overcome with a sense of crisis and inexplicable guilt. After a long while, he stammered and begged for forgiveness: "I...I understand. I'm sorry, Brother Yan. I will study hard."
