Chapter 358 Going Abroad

After finishing their late-night snack, the two walked towards Wu Yue's house. Uncle Min followed behind in his car, keeping a safe distance.

A ten-minute walk was stretched out to half an hour by them.

See you tomorrow!

"Okay, goodnight."

After saying goodbye to him, Wu Yue went into the villa and upstairs.

She pushed open the door to the room and saw her brother sitting upright on the sofa, his face still covered in makeup, his usual gentle smile gone.

A strange feeling flashed through Wu Yue's mind, "Brother?"

After Yan Chiyu got into the car, Min Shu sped up the driving.

On the way home, you'll pass a fountain square.

The red light came on, and the car slowly came to a stop.

The boy gazed casually out the window, his expression indifferent. Suddenly remembering something, he looked up and asked, "My aunt called today saying she left something in my car and asked you to bring it over. What is it?"

Uncle Min remembered clearly what he had handled just a few hours earlier: "It was a black bag."

"..."

Yan Chiyu paused, his expression slightly hardening. Although there was nothing wrong with his aunt taking back the information she had researched herself, this wasn't like her usual style. What was she up to by doing this?

"Hey—? Second Young Master, doesn't that girl look like Miss Wu Yue? Over by the fountain." Uncle Min suddenly exclaimed, "It really is Miss Wu Yue, she's even put on makeup and changed clothes... But, didn't Miss Wu Yue just go home—?"

Uncle Min fell silent upon recalling Wu Yue's abilities, while simultaneously harboring doubts in his mind.

The boy lowered the car window and looked in the direction Uncle Min pointed.

A young girl in a long black dress sat by the fountain, her fair ankles tied with a seemingly ordinary yet exquisitely textured red rope. Three silver bells were wrapped around the rope, and as she swayed her feet, the bells rang out with a clear, melodious sound that carried on the wind into the distance.

Yan Chiyu's heart sank, his eyes turning deep and unfathomable.

If that's not Wu Songsong, then who is it?

The girl seemed to notice Yan Chiyu's gaze, and suddenly looked up at him, the corners of her lips curving upwards, her expression unfamiliar and indifferent.

"Second Young Master, shall we get off the car?"

"Go home." The boy rolled up the car window expressionlessly and said calmly.

"yes."

-

"Yueyue!"

Cheng Pingxi stood up, walked quickly to Wu Yue, and smiled slightly: "You're back!"

"Hmm, what's wrong? You..." Your complexion doesn't look good. Before Wu Yue could finish speaking, Cheng Pingxi interrupted her.

"I won a 7-day trip to Bali on a TV show. You can leave tomorrow. I'll help you get leave from school. Your grades are so good, you can still study in your spare time during these 7 days, it shouldn't be a problem, right?"

As Cheng Pingxi spoke, he shoved Wu Yue to the wardrobe, gesturing for her to put away her clothes. But he quickly added, "Don't put away your clothes. I'll give you a card. Go buy some new clothes and shoes. Don't bring too big a suitcase when you go on a trip. It's inconvenient for a girl to carry heavy luggage alone."

What her brother said made sense, but the more Wu Yue listened, the more uneasy she felt. Coupled with his expression, Wu Yue wasn't blind; her brother was clearly hiding something from her.

"Brother, what's wrong? What happened? Don't be like this, tell me what's wrong."

Wu Yue turned and grasped Cheng Pingxi's hand. She noticed that her adopted brother was trembling. Looking up at him, she saw that his eyes, which always seemed to be smiling, were bloodshot, as if he was suppressing something.

Don't ask.

"Yueyue, promise your brother you'll go abroad for a couple of days, okay?"

Seeing Cheng Pingxi's expression, Wu Yue couldn't help but wonder: "Did something happen to Mom and Dad? Or—is it related to me?"

Cheng Pingxi pursed his lips, lowered his head, and remained silent.

"Brother, don't you believe in my abilities?"

Wu Yue forcefully turned Cheng Pingxi's head, making him look at her. Her expression seemed calm but was actually grave, and her tone left no room for argument: "Tell me, what exactly happened? We are family, what can't we face together?"

Cheng Pingxi's hand trembled slightly as he took out his phone from his pocket, opened a video, and handed it to Wu Yue.
