Chapter 631 The Promise of the Past

She turned her head slightly and saw her own face reflected in the bronze mirror not far away.

With her extensive experience in time travel, Wu Yue immediately straightened up and turned her gaze to the person before her. The clothes had changed; the timeline must have changed too. That made sense; the scroll contained the builder's memories, so some jumps were to be expected.

It's generally true that bystanders see things more clearly. Wu Yue, who was residing in Bai Tang's body, could see the emotions in Su Qin'an's eyes more clearly than Bai Tang herself. Even the subtlest expressions could be discerned.

"Master, this is crystal mulberry cake. It has beauty-enhancing and nourishing effects, and it looks beautiful. I think you will like it."

Wu Yue instinctively wanted to say thank you, but unexpectedly, 'she' spoke first.

"I brought you into my household not so you could make pastries for me or pour me wine and tea; those are the duties of servants. Just be a good son-in-law."

Wu Yue suddenly realized that although she had taken over this body, she had no independent consciousness and was merely reliving the past by following Su Qin'an's memories.

She calmed her mind slightly, relaxed her body, and accepted everything Bai Tang had experienced, as well as those feelings that had not yet blossomed.

Su Qin paused for a moment, then said, "I...I noticed you haven't had much of an appetite these past few days. That's why..."

"Su Qin'an, I still prefer the obedient you from back then." Wu Yue said meaningfully, "I'm not unaware of the Su family's recent actions, but I've turned a blind eye because of our past agreement. If you want to leave, those few books in the storeroom..."

As Wu Yue spoke, her voice suddenly stopped. She got up and walked to the bookshelf, picked out more than ten books, and then conjured a spell.

A small paper figure, similar to Cuihua but uglier, appeared out of nowhere, pitifully carrying a book to Su Qin'an.

“The Wu family is now powerful, and I have achieved my goal. I can no longer bear to keep you, this kingfisher, locked in a cage.” Wu Yue’s eyes were cold, but a smile played on her lips. With a flick of her sleeve, the door to the bedroom opened. “Please come in.”

Su Qin'an was also dressed in a simple green robe today, like a white leaf falling on the green bamboo in the forest, his lonely figure in the frost and snow made him look even thinner.

Upon hearing Wu Yue's words, his body trembled almost imperceptibly.

He should have known this person's nature long ago, but it was precisely this cold indifference and purity that caught his eye.

Su Qin'an forced a smile: "Wu Yue, we've been married for over three years, how much affection do we still have for each other?"

"There are still two points left, so there are only two points left." Wu Yue felt a momentary pain in her body as she said this.

“Two points…” Su Qin’an murmured the words, then suddenly smiled. “Two points is enough. Wu Yue, I am willing to divorce you, but I have one more condition.”

"What do you want?" Wu Yue looked at him calmly.

Su Qin'an bent slightly, but his smile remained unchanged: "A top-tier feng shui incantation as a gift for our divorce."

Suddenly, even the passing wind stopped.

The talisman was cast, and a red book landed steadily in Su Qin'an's arms. A soft clatter almost brought tears to his eyes.

"Alright, I wish Young Master Su a worry-free future. With these books, you can learn incantations, enter the feng shui profession, and the Su family's status will rise accordingly. Those people... will no longer look down on you."

Su Qin'an watched the green figure depart, a glimmer of hope remaining: "Perhaps we should wait until the divorce papers are finished..."

"The divorce agreement is tucked inside the booklet. You can just sign it."

The footsteps faded away.

Su Qin'an understood that the love hidden deep in her heart had quietly faded away like fireworks. Or perhaps, it was struck down by a torrential downpour during its bloom, turning into ashes.

He reached out his hand, which was hidden in his sleeve, and drops of warm blood slid down. In his haste, he wiped the blood onto his green shirt, staining it three inches deep.
