Chapter 292 The Indifferent Grandmother

The deceased driver, having received the map from Yan Chiyu, led everyone to Qian Bolun's maternal grandmother's house in the countryside, following the map's markings.

Except for Yan Chiyu, everyone else was thinking about 'What a wonderful day, what a wonderful day, what a wonderful day'.

Leaving the bustling city center, the bus slowly entered the suburbs.

The countryside in most people's minds is probably filled with brick houses and tiled roofs, flocks of chickens and ducks, and dogs barking in the deep alleys. However, the desolate scenery was only halfway there; the car stopped in front of a large manor.

A distinctive black iron gate, adorned with intricate patterns, stood guard. Ivy covered the walls, and through the gate, one could glimpse the blooming roses in the manor—white wild roses, their fragrance rich and intense. Yellow roses, delicate and translucent, were clean and refreshing.

Despite the beautiful scenery before them, no one dared to get out of the car.

All eyes turned to Yan Chiyu. The young man slightly raised his long eyelashes, his cool and aloof gaze sweeping over them. He reached into his pocket, took out a Rebirth Talisman, and without chanting a spell, the talisman flew to the top of the driver's seat.

Yan Chiyu slightly raised his long, slender, white fingers and tapped them lightly, as if controlling something. Immediately afterwards, everyone smelled a very pleasant Buddhist fragrance that filled the carriage.

"Get off the bus."

The boy's voice was cool and indifferent, and he seemed to have no emotions, but he always made the people around him feel extremely safe.

Even Cheng Pingxi, who didn't particularly like Yan Chiyu, now found him much more agreeable. Perhaps only Yan Chiyu could protect his sister. After all, he himself was a useless nobody who could only live to be 200 years old and couldn't do anything, let alone fly.

Song Wenzhi looked over cautiously, "He... he's gone?"

Yan Chiyu patiently explained, "It's a Rebirth Talisman, used to send him to be reincarnated."

He had originally intended to advise Lao Song to abandon his old account and start a new one, but after seeing the new account, he changed his mind. The old and new accounts were about the same, so he figured he'd just keep it going.

"That's good."

The seven people got off the car, and Yan Chiyu consciously walked at the very back.

After getting off the bus, the view became even wider, with blue sky and a gentle breeze, and ivy and roses facing each other across the wall.

"Where's the countryside I was promised? Where are the chickens and ducks I expected?" Que Guanghuai really wanted to experience the rural life, but reality clearly dealt him a blow.

Song Wenzhi: "Lunzi, your grandma's place is also very luxurious."

Qian Bolun said, "Go in first. There's a large orchard behind, and then there are chicken and duck sheds. You won't be shortchanged."

The large iron gate is unlocked with a password.

Chamberlain led everyone inside, and soon a maid dressed as a woman came to greet them. The maid spoke very little, simply greeted them, and then led them to their respective guest rooms to put away their luggage.

Finally, they gathered in the lobby.

Where is my grandmother?

"The old lady is watering the flowers in the backyard. She said she's not in the mood today and asked you to take your friends out for fun. Most of the manor is open to everyone, but please do not wander into the locked areas."

The servant finished speaking politely, bowed, and left.

Song Wenzhi: "Your maternal grandmother's maid has quite a temper."

Qian Bolun touched his nose. "Actually, my maternal grandmother is also a strange person. She was the one who called my mother to invite me to this school trip, but she didn't even show her face."

Zhou Yunwei: "Shall we play by ourselves?"

Que Guanghuai suggested, "Let's take a look around first, do some activities, take some photos or something?"

Wu Yue said calmly, "Both my brother and I are fine with it."

With his younger sister Jin Yan speaking first, what could Cheng Pingxi say but a simple "hmm"?

Yan Chiyu remained silent, his dark eyes swirling with unreadable emotions.

"Alright, let's take a walk around the manor first."

Chamberlain led the way, but he was a rather incompetent guide. He had been here a few times when he was young, but he wasn't very familiar with the area and often led people astray into dead ends.

Yan Chiyu stood beside Wu Yue and asked in a low voice, "Did you bring Cuihua?"

"Uh-huh."

Wu Yue nodded. After a pause, she asked curiously, "Is something wrong here?"
